Café Soleil

This place is great. Food is very good — portions pretty big — service is very good and pricing is really cheap. I feel so guilty not tipping (not allowed).

Café Soleil is a hidden gem inside Wishard hospital… Wishard!!!
It is the best place to eat in the downtown IU health hospital system.
There are just so many options on the menu, some of my favorites are the Pesto panini and the black bean burger. There are daily entrees and always a Heart Healthy option. Each meal comes with a drink with unlimited refills. And the price for lunch at Café Soleil is about 5 – 6 dollars. I once tried tipping the ridiculously attentive and courteous staff but was told tips are prohibited
As a «wishard 4 lyfe» medical student (I did most of my rotations in wishard), i loved going to Café Soleil with my ward team or my classmates. I am about to graduate and I just had lunch there 1 hour ago… and seriously… I will miss this place for all the good memories.
Clear cut 5 stars especially for a hospital dining experience.

Café Soleil is THE best place to eat at IUPUI and the Wishard-​Methodist-​University Hospital network. Café Soleil features a variety of characteristics, enumerated below, that makes it one of the premier lunch experiences in all of Indianapolis
1) Quality. Café Soleil offers a disparate and eclectic collection of foods. With cuisine ranging from the Italian Pesto Panini to the Heart Healthy (changes daily) to Grilled Pork Chops, Café Soleil offers anything your heart (and more importantly, your stomach) desires.
2) Value. Defined in business books as Quality/​Money, Café Soleil offers — superlatively — the BEST value in all of Indianapolis. Each entre comes with a side and unlimited soft drinks, from a price ranging from $ 4.50 to $ 6.00. Additionally, tips are prohibited.
3) Service. The staff at Café Soleil are courteous and elegant, delivering food in a prompt and efficient manner. I’ve gone to Café Soleil for lunch almost every day for the past two years, and I have yet to have a bad experience.
In summary, Café Soleil offers an unparalleled dining experience. While there are some faults (inside Wishard Hospital), these only add to allure and luster of the restaurant.

Café Soleil is located next to the Wishard Cafeteria on the second floor of the hospital and offers all the comforts of a sit-​down restaurant. A beverage is included with each meal purchased, and tips are not accepted. Hours are from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
