Renting from Core Redevelopment has been my worst experience so far. At a first glance, an apartment seemed to be a decent place to live, but it turned out to be an overpriced ($ 800) hut with a ton of flaws. The market price for such 1-​BD is $ 500.
First and foremost, I would like everyone to save their peace of mind: stay away from this company.
When I moved in, I found the following in my apartment: half of the power outlets were broken, both bathroom pop-​up stoppers were broken and the sink faucet broke 2 weeks after. The toilet wasn’t properly attached to the floor. Kitchen furniture was damaged and the food disposer was broken. Shelves in my bedroom closet were flimsy. Laminate flooring in the living room falls off in certain places. The furnace/​air conditioner is so loud that you wouldn’t want to use it. And overall, the apartment was pretty dirty.
I have emailed the list of those issues to the company, and received the answer: «The apartment has issues since you wanted to move in asap and we didn’t have time to fix everything.» That was not true, since the unit had already been listed on the website and nobody told me there was some maintenance pending. In other words, Core Redevelopment didn’t inspect the unit before renting it out. Every time I submitted a maintenance request, the the company either forgot about it or it took 2 weeks to fix the apartment problems. Some of my emails were even left without answer.
My building is always under maintenance as there are water leaks and other problems almost every week, so common areas have dirt and broken ceiling here and there (see pictures in Google reviews). It also has creaky floors and the company is not planning to take care of this issue. It is very annoying not to have a good sleep at home. Moreover, they asked for $ 400 fee in case I wanted to move to some other apartment they own (although there was no guarantee a new apartment would be in a good condition).
Lastly, the parking behind the building probably was not maintained in the last few years. Some of the curbs a broken and parking surface paint is completely gone.
Needless to say, I do not recommend this company to my friends and to my coworkers.
Long story short: poor service, terrible apartments, huge disappointment.
