Average Mexican taco joint. The carne asada steaks featured small bits of steak that were unevenly cut. This made for some very tender pieces and some smaller bits that came out crispy. It gave a very tasty and nice textured effect. The cut of steak was lean; I only found a couple grisly bits. Refried beans were good. I think they were cooked in lard. They could have been served hotter. They were barely lukewarm. Free chips and salsa, but the chips bordered on stale and were not served warm. The three salsas are HOT, but I only found one of them to be savory and of good flavor. Service was not great. As soon as the server took our order, we never saw her again(literally, like NEVER saw her again). We had to go to the order window to ask the cook for water. He was the one who brought out the food and, after I asked, brought utensils. This falls under the life lesson — just because it is authentic, doesn’t mean it’s good. This restaurant is in the heart of Indy’s «Little Mexico,» everyone working there(and eating there except us) is Mexican, and the menu is in Spanish with English subtitles. However, there are better authentic taco places to go. I would eat here again if someone invited me, but this would not be my first choice. Total = $ 22.50 for 4 tacos, 1 refried beans, 2 Jarritos Pros: — lots of seating — menu is in English — parking lot Cons: — pricey for the amount of food and service you get — service is not great — food taste is only ok
