What an amazing organization that helps kids learn to work hard and serve the community. I absolutely love the bike I purchased at the most competitive price I could hope for! I trust these folks and you should too! Thanks to all the staff and volunteers that keep this place going and serving! Keep up the good work for our communities and our city!

I would recommend this place to anyone. Awesome staff, a wonderful mission, and even better bikes! They hooked me up with a vintage Fuji del Rey and I’ve been zooming all over town ever since. I can’t believe how kind they were. Truly meant the world to me and I encourage you to go see it for yourself :)

Great local bike shop with friendly knowledgeable staff that recycle and rebuild great bikes. Add to that the work they do with the area youth and it can’t be beat. I’m proud to be partnering with them and sharing their story with as many people as I can.

This is an awesome non-profit organization that teaches kids valuable skills(bicycle building and repair) while offering them the opportunity to earn a free bicycle. They take donated bicycles and rebuild them for sale at their new store on Central Ave. Nancy does a great job organizing the volunteers and running the show.

Are you a cyclist? Do you know one? More importantly, do you know a kid who loves to bike or take apart toasters? Then Freewheelin is probably the right place for you. This non-profit has many components: an Earn-a-Bike program for neighborhood youth to learn about bike mechanics and go through a series of lessons to earn a bike. Talented volunteers and staff assist the youth by going through a curriculum which teaches them all about the mechanics of the bike, components, and how to take care of a bike. You can also donate your old bike and it will get refurbished and sold to help further the mission of Freewheelin. A retail component at the front of the store offers merchandise, repairs, and service. What’s best about Freewheelin is that its all volunteer and that the folks who work there are so passionate about what they do. If they can’t fix it, they know who can, and will do their best to help you out.

I stopped here to buy a bike that I could take on a park trail, but I don’t really know all that much about bikes. The staff was really helpful and answered any questions I had, plus gave me some pointers on how to take care of my bike. Fun experience!

One of my favorite non-profits in Indy! Check out their new store front location to look for a new(to you) bike to ride and/or to get involved with their youth programs.

The wonderful staff are all volunteers. They provide a «Learn and Earn» program for kids age 10 – 15. Work your way through 5 lessons(at your own pace) with a Freewheelin’ mechanic and come out in the end knowing all you need to know about biking safely, and taking care of the bike you earn, along with a new lock, bike bottle, and helmet! Students may start at any time. They also do «Explore Indy Rides» An all ages ride held once a week during the summer starting in May and ending in October! Each week the distances start short and gradually increase over the course of the summer. Rides include anything from riding to the Children’s Museum to Eagle Creek to Connor Prairie or just around beautiful downtown! Check out the schedule and join at listed under programs! One may donate their time or new/old bike, bike parts, or bike tools at any time during Freewheelin’ hours: 3:00−6:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. on Saturdays

I finally got a sweet refurbed 80s road bike with turquoise and hot pink(oh, yeah!) stylings that is going to be my new best friend. I got a great price. The Freewheelin’ folks are so nice and helpful and they’re really a good citizen in this community. Give this place some love!
