Just had the Raphael burrito for lunch and it was the first time in a while I was dreading my meal being finished. It was a very very good burrito. Not trying to say this is 5 star cuisine but as a quick meal I will be returning. The food was made fresh to order so expect a 5 – 10 minute wait. The staff was polite and the place was clean. I did make it supreme which added lettuce tomato and sour cream for a small charge. Like I said I will be picking up lunch again in the future!

Any Mexican restaurant that doesn’t give me the side-eye when I order a BRC(bean, rice, cheese) burrito gets a thumbs up from me. Not only were they not confused at my BRC burrito order, but they didn’t try to get me to add sour cream and lettuce to it. It also tasted pretty good! I say pretty good because all of the components were there, but it needed a little more flavor. But! I’ll take a bland pretty good BRC burrito over most things, so I’m not complaining too much. I also got the chips and guacamole, which were good. The chips were nice and crispy and salty, and adequately greased up the paper bag that they were in, as good chips should. The guacamole could have used a bit more salt, but the avocado and onion and tomato were nice and chunky like I like it.

I have been wanting to check this place out for the past year and I finally did. I’m so glad that I did and I will for sure be back. The guacamole and chipotle chicken quesadilla were delicious! The guys were very sweet and even gave me a small sample before I ordered.

Was impressed with the food but even more so with the service! Since it was my first time here, the owner let me get a mix of my three taco choices, so I went with two steaks and one fish taco. I wouldn’t say it’s exactly like the ones I’m used to from Cali, but it’s close for Indy! They give you the option of flour or corn tortilla(ALWAYS go for the corn!). The owner was v friendly and we chit chatted about his business and his bigger aspirations as a chef. He even gave us a sample of his signature salmon that he used to cook for when he worked for the Indy500! Needless to say, very cool dude who is just trying to make an honest living with his God given talent. I’ll be back, definitely because I appreciate good, personable service.

Fantastic. Everyone i have introduced this place always calls me asking to go again. Not usually a ground beef taco type of guy but they are amazing here

I can’t say that I went here with high expectations. It’s a Saturday night(Sunday morning) in Broad Ripple, everything is crowded. Doesn’t necessarily mean it’s good. But I was so excited to step in and smell some amazing tacos, authentic and full of flavor. We had the steak tacos and they were amazing. This place is going to be our new go to place whenever we are in Broad Ripple, amazing food for an incredibly reasonable price. I highly recommend. Amazing!

Hands-down the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. The owner was super nice and took great pride in the preparation of my lunch. When I have the choice of going to a franchise or locally owned restaurant the decision is easy. When they blow away everybody with flavor and taste it just makes it that much better. Thanks for the best lunch. Will be seeing you soon.

Not the best authentic Mexican in Indy, but it’s good. The menu is kind of confusing, and restrictive. You can get 1 taco or 3, but the three all have to be the same kind. And you can only choose two toppings before having to pay extra. I think that simplifying things would be better for business.

If you want a good, authentic, taco in the broad ripple area — George’s is the place to go! I’ve been several times and tried many of the tacos — all DELICIOUS! I do have to say that the chicken chipotle are my favorites though. As well as the chicken chipotle nachos — the perfect amount of spice! I’m treated with nothing but kindness when I enter George’s. Also a little know secret in the IndyCar world — George used to be a chef for Chip Ganassi Racing. He has some pretty cool articles around the dinning room of this. The salsa, guac and queso are all superb. I love taking a quick walk down the block to get some George’s!

Really in the mood for some quick close tacos we chose Georges over Indy Tacos. This place is super quaint and after a very cold walk it was nice and toasty. The place has Windows lined with bar style seating, great for people watching and three tiny tables in the middle. It is an order at the counter type of place with glass peering into a steamy kitchen. There aren’t a ton of options and they have a soda fridge stocked with cans and waters. I chose the chicken chipotle burrito. The tortilla was a very hard texture to describe. Not quite warm and chewy like chipotles and not quite as floury as you’d find in a grocery. It was almost a waxy type of chewy that was extremely hard to cut through(this is not a pick up and eat burrito!) The flavor of the chicken and hot sauce were good and the beans, rice and queso gave it some dimension. Given the chance, if get the supreme with veggies if I went back. Overall, the food was good, but not particularly stand out. It just lacked a certain type of character and flavor that makes you think, «Can we please get Georges?!» I think I’d like to check out their tacos.

Another taco place in broad ripple? How lucky we are! I’ve been to George’s twice and my taste buds are always happy. The menu is simple and unfussy. Décor isn’t much to write home about but you can fill your belly with scrumptious, affordable faire.

Real talk. I’m white. However, my better half is Latino so I know Mexican food. This is white peoples food disguised as Mexican. We ordered steak, carnitas, fish and shrimp tacos with a side of guacamole. I was put off by the fact that the guacamole didn’t come with chips. How am I supposed to eat this guacamole? It doesn’t make sense. Yes George, I am just going to shovel guacamole in each other’s mouths. No. Give me the damn chips. As for the tacos, with a dash of salt, spoonfuls of salsa, and guacamole they were quite tasty. Without it — just average. I wouldn’t say one was better than the other. Michael liked the shrimp, but I was indifferent. I probably would vote for the carnitas if George made me vote. Ps, the red salsa will set your mouth on fire. The green salsa is more moderate. Sorry George, I am curious no more.

Service was friendly and they weren’t busy, so it was nice. Atmosphere made it seem that we had to be quiet, like in a library or something. I had the Rafael Burrito and it was just ok. Actually, it was very disappointing. $ 9 for a burrito with no flavor at all. Our meal was $ 36(just two of us) and we had two burritos and chips and salsa. $ 36!!! What??? I’ve had better burritos at Taco Bell. Not sure of the 4.5 stars! Anyways, won’t be back. Also, the salsa is not good and the chips are store bought. We tried it. Should have went to HopCat.

I would give this place 6 stars if I could. Saw this place for the first time on Unilocal, and decided to order some tacos to go. The owner was awesome, and the food was awesome too. I had the chicken chipotle tacos on corn tortillas, which were absolutely delicious, and perfectly spicy. The rice was on point, chips were traditional Mexican restaurant style, salsa was fresh. I will definitely be back to try some other kinds of tacos, as well as the tres leches. I’ll be sure to dine in next time, as the atmosphere was so quaint and welcoming. You can see the food being prepared from the dining room. Five stars, all the way!

Apparently this is turning into the summer of tacos. So many new taco spots, and I’m determined to try them all. I randomly decided to stop in at George’s on a quick trip to Broad Ripple. I love the interior. Simple with a pop of orange. Unfortunately, I had to knock them down a star because the A/C seemed to be out and blower was circulating hot air, so it was stifling inside and pretty uncomfortable. Also, there was only one person working that day, so there was a bit of a wait and it was a bit messy. The guy was super nice and tried his best to be a friendly and efficient as possible. Fortunately, the food was fantastic and worth the wait. I wanted to try the cheese(queso) dip, but decided to pass when found out it cost and additional 1.50 for the chips. The dip alone is $ 3.49. So, I ordered a shrimp, fish, and steak tacos. All were less than $ 3 a piece. High five to George’s! These tacos were bangin’! Made fresh to order, piping hot, flavorful and delicious. With fresh cilantro and seasoned well. I’m not sure which was my favorite because they were all delish although enjoyed the steak less because I came across a fatty piece. Not so pleasant. Other than that, these tacos were darn near perfection. There is no doubt I’ll be retuning to this spot! Next time I want to check out one of their desserts!

Finally, a good taco joint on the strip in Broad Ripple. It reminds me a lot of the burrito/taco restaurants I frequented in Chicago years ago. No pretension. No frills. Order from the counter. Everything a la carte. Cheap. Plastic forks. Napkin dispensers. Get ‘er done. The seating area is pretty sparse(as any self-respecting taco joint should be), but not spartan. It’s comfortable enough to bring your whole family for dinner. This could become my go-to place for quick, cheap eats in Broad Ripple.

El Pastor Taco + Beef Tongue Taco + Side of Beans = solid Mexican fare. Downside: my corn tortillas fell apart, but that didn’t stop me. That’s what forks are for.

It’s nice to see a local place pop up on Broadripple Avenue that isn’t a bar. I heard about this place from a friend and decided to check it out while I was in the area not too long ago. I went with three of the standard tacos. a pork, a chicken and a steak, and put onions and cilantro on each of them. Next time I’ll ask them to go light on the onions as it kind of overpowered the rest of the taco. There was also a lot of cilantro on my food, which I liked. but if you aren’t a huge fan of cilantro, you might want to ask them to take it easy on that too. Everything was extremely well prepared, include the side of sauce that came with the tacos and had a nice kick to it. The rice was also delicious, and I left with only a squeezed lime on my plate. Definitely a great place, and wasn’t very busy when I was there. Food took around 5 – 8 minutes to come out and we were the only ones with an order in, so if this place is busy, I suspect the food may take some time to come out.

Happy to see this new, non-bar addition to the main strip in Broad Ripple. Besides, who doesn’t love some midday, late night, anytime tacos? Go for the El Pastor tacos — I tried three different types during my visit to George’s and the El Pastor stood out by far– the carnitas were on the dry side for my liking. Expect to pay around $ 7 for three tacos. If you’re looking to mix it up, they offer lenguas(tongue) tacos as well as «wet tacos». I rounded out my meal with some tasty rice. My boyfriend’s love for sweets had me trying the moist and tasty tres leches cake as well. Salsa is free and in container located in the fridge. I’m holding back on the fourth star because service was a little on the odd/unfriendly side.

Ay que rico! This place has everything you could ever want in a taco place. A plain menu that isn’t trying too hard, a good view of the kitchen, your standard choices of Jarritos flavors, and best of all — fresh house-made ingredients that make excellent tacos. I tried the invitingly ambiguous«steam» tacos, which have steamed steak meat and a soft steamed double-tortilla. Very good flavor and very smooth(if you can use that description for tacos). The texture and consistency was different from the other tacos I ate there, and the change up was a great contrast. Also delicious were the chips and queso and the house-made tres leches cake. I had both for appetizers before the tacos showed up. I’ll be heading back again so I can try the jamaica and horchata drinks.
