By now, it’s no secret that I have a rather shameless fondness for reviewing my Goodwill experiences ranging from extraordinarily godawful to experiences that remind me that they are actually a thrift experience with a mission. I’ve been rather impressed as of late that when I write my negative experiences, I’ve been contacted by a representative of Goodwill regarding my feedback whether good or bad(but especially when bad). In fact, on two occasions I can cite positive change in stores unquestionably resulting from my observations and experiences. Strangely enough, I’d never ventured into the Nora location of Goodwill despite the fact that I don’t actually live that far from it. I’m closer to Glendale, a location I used to hate but that has improved dramatically, and even Castleton is a bit closer to me while I’m especially fond of the Pendleton Pike location. However, I found myself in the Nora area and decided to stop in. This location is located in a strip center that includes Marsh on the opposite end along with a variety of businesses that include a Subway. I’ve always found this strip center a tad frustrating as its sidewalk is constructed of these weird brick-type formations that prove to be really bumpy in a wheelchair. This isn’t Goodwill’s fault other than the choice to actually locate there(and it really is a good location). There’s two accessible spots nearby, though they are actually located in front of Jet’s Pizza that is next door to Goodwill. The strip center does have curb cuts and, refreshingly, Goodwill actually has an automated entry at this location. I’ll confess there’s only so many things you can say about Goodwill. Let’s be honest. If you truly go there for customer service, you’ve likely taken one too many acid hits. You go there for good prices and, just maybe, because it supports a «good cause.» I’ve never found Goodwill’s pricing to be that great. It’s the kind of place where you really have to dig for the bargains. They occasionally get really great ones, but you have to be careful not to buy that $ 4 pair of pants with the pee stain on the crotch. I’m a paraplegic. If I want a pee stain on my crotch, I’m pretty capable of producing one myself. However, when you find a bargain it’s usually a very good one. I don’t find their pricing bad, just not a reason I shop there. I do find that for a thrift store their products tend to be of a higher quality and, quite honestly, I’ve never worried about issues like bedbugs from a Goodwill whereas I know for a fact it’s happened in other Indy thrift shops. While the folks at Goodwill, god love ‘em, couldn’t shelf something according to actual size if their lives depended on it, they at least do seem to take care to make sure their products aren’t a health risk(excepting the occasional awkwardly placed stain). This location has proven to be one of my favorites. I loved the automatic door and the store was better spaced despite seeming somewhat smaller than other locations. I also really liked that they had the manager’s name and photo posted. The staff, while not really outgoing, was calm, professional and all seemed to be actively working cooperatively. I did find a ton of clothes, especially pants, that were shelved inaccurately. This has always been one of my Goodwill pet peeves. However, because I know it’s an issue I now am much more careful before buying. However, the shirts were largely accurate and I had plenty of room for my wheelchair to maneuver. Of course, as is true for most Goodwill locations, they do have an accessible dressing room and they accommodate if you have an aide with you who needs to help. I didn’t find much on this particular shopping trip, though I did find their clearance area pretty decent. I’ve always said I would go out of my way for a positive shopping experience. While I doubt I’d pick this location over the closeness of Glendale, I would like bypass Castleton in favor of this location. While the bumpy sidewalk and not so great parking may prove a challenge for some, I think this location somewhat compensates with the automatic door, clear aisles and just plain better shopping atmosphere.

Not bad, but not amazing. I think the Castleton one is better, and the Glendale one definitely is. Still, I’ve found a few nice clothing items here, and the staff was pretty nice.

every time that I am in Indianapolis I have to go north to this Goodwill store. It always has the best selection of books. Good kids clothes. And lots of household odds and ends. I have the frequent buyer card and I have always gottenhuge discounts on things by shopping smart. I only wish that our goodwill would do such a thing.

I just love Goodwill’s and this place is a well-stocked and organized store. We came in one night searching for dog blanket and left with much more. We found a unique lamp which just needed a new shade for $ 5. I love looking over their suit jacket selection because you can find some real diamonds in the rough. Come and support a great cause with either shopping or dropping off used items.

I’ve picked up a few good finds at this Goodwill. It’s not my go to store. I usually only venture this way on the first Saturday of the month for their 50% deals. It gets crowded on these Saturdays though. That’s not a complaint. It just means if I don’t get here early what’s left is pretty picked over.

Pros: Well organized, great selection of women’s clothing Cons: Long lines Usually I hit Goodwill when I’m in need of a costume of some sort, but I need to rethink this! On a recent visit(for a costume…) I found a ton of things I wanted to take home with me. A great selection of women’s clothing, including a ton of dresses that were brand new with the tags on. It seems like Target gives clothing that doesn’t sell to this Goodwill because there were a ton of awesome steals here that had never been worn. I’ll be back!

As far a Goodwill Stores go, this is in a great location. Fairly good merchandise. With any Goodwill Store lacks organization. Wish Goodwill would separate and group different styles and kinds of clothing better. Seems as the woman’s selection is much larger than the men’s. But the more people donate to Goodwill the better the selection. As well sometimes the help always not as nice and helpful as they should be.

Great for cleaning out your apartment. They take donations until 9pm. And starting later this month a frequent shopper program. OK!

It’s in the same shopping center as Marsh, Nora Corners, on the North side of the street. Cross street is Westfield Blvd. Nothing special, but it’s decent, clean, and safe as far as Goodwill stores go.
