One of the things I miss about living in the Midwest is dining at Granite City. Their brunch is LEGENDARY, and very reasonable. So when I realized I was in close proximity to one while traveling on business, my nostalgia couldn’t keep me away. Needless to say, I was a bit disappointed in their«new to me» menu. I was always impressed by their vast variety of menu options, particularly, their pasts choices. Looking at this new menu, nothing seemed the same, and it seemed to be watered down from what I remembered. Instead of being a really great restaurant, it’s now become a sports bar. Now I love a good, fancy Sports Bar, but it seems as if that market is overly saturated. Sometimes I just want a good meal, with great food, and not worrying about a crowd of people erupting in cheers or disdain at any given moment. The service was excellent, and the bartender was very attentive when I was there. I was also a bit disappointed to not see hard ciders offered on the Beer Menu. Overall, it’s a good option for game watching, but not so much for actual dining.

What about this little gem? Stumbled upon this place walking around downtown and decided to try it. First of all the food is incredible. Definitely can tell that it is fresh made, home cooked, rather then the heat up from a box. I’m southern and had to try the ribs. Not that easy finding quality BBQ in the Midwest but this is as close as it gets. What really stood out to me was the beer they brew and the help you get from the service for pairing. It’s amazing how it compliments the meal. Service was second to none, very friendly and most of all, welcoming. Even though the restaurant was incredibly busy at the time, the food arrived even quicker than expected. Will definitely be going back multiple times.

Please God just quit trying to decide and get the chickeb asperagus pasta. It will change your life. OH! And everybody else really enjoyed what they had? Wings? Asian salad? I heard no complaints. Good beer too.

Only came to sample, but ended up staying for a short of the German. Knowledgable staff. Bartender was super attentive but not hyper attentive. Four stars for me is a great score. Recommend for sure…

Check out the Sunday Buffet… it was an amazing deal of $ 15 and the options are limitless! They offer prime rib, huge omelets and a variety of desserts to name a few. Our waiter was awesome too! Nice ambiance and a place to check out when in the mall!

We went here for Easter Brunch. This was one of the few places we could find online. The location on the northside was full for reservations. So we called the downtown location and they had openings. We arrived to a nearly empty restaurant at 12pm. The food was bland and not seasoned at all. The prime rib was dry. The best thing they had was the french toast. But they served one slice cut in half at a time. It was really disappointing. I ordered a mimosa. It was made pretty well that I didn’t mind paying another $ 1 for a second one. The way the menu read(which was a special Easter menu) was refills were $ 1. The waitress acted angry when we challenged the way the menu read and being charged full price for a second one. I watched her stand near the kicthen and aruge with the manager. She came back with some lame excuse and said she was not able to adjust the bill. At that point, we asked to speak with the manager. He came over and spoke with us. He stated the intent of the menu wording but that was not going to work. I would have not ordered another one at $ 6.50 but at $ 1 I would at least enjoy that. Because the food was less than ok.

Do not eat here unless you want exorcist level pukes for the next 24 hours. I got terrible food poisoning after eating the fish tacos and cheesy chicken soup. Would never return here.

Granite City always has consistently good food. Nothing revolutionary however, and I would have liked to have seen a bigger seafood/vegetarian options selection on their menu. However, portions were big for the Fish Tacos and Shrimp tacos, and they were deliciously spicy.

Was visiting for the day with my boyfriend. Happy to find this place when we were hungry! We both had perfect brews for our tastes(I enjoyed the Northerner). LOVED my Cuban sandwich and he loved his Reuben. Awesome little desserts, too!

I wanted to go somewhere different for my birthday last year and was happy I chose Granite City! Got the pasta which had fresh asparagus, bacon and chicken, amazing! The manager stopped at our table to see how we were too, very nice! Brought me aome fresh baked cookies as I left since he heard it was my birthday. Great place and will probably be visiting again soon :)

Disappointed. If we weren’t hungry, tired of waiting for thirty minutes for our appetizer to arrive before our entrées, and able to talk to our server, the food would have went back to the kitchen and we would have left. My girlfriend and I came with two of her family members to have dinner Saturday night. My girlfriend and I ordered the Idaho nachos as an appetizer which tasted as if it was microwaved rather than fried or even baked. Thankfully the app came with ketchup. My entrée was the spinach artichoke chicken sandwich. The chicken was approximately half the size of the bread and dry as if it were microwaved. My girlfriend’s macaroni and cheese tasted good, which didn’t tasted microwaved. Overall, not a place to go for a date night or when you’re hungry.

Convenient location inside Circle Center Mall in downtown Indianapolis. The have a brewery inside the restaurant with a nice variety of beer. They have salads, sandwiches, flatbread, steaks, seafood, soup and desserts. I love the chicken bruschetta salad.

Because of the mild weather and unseasonably warm temps, we decided to take a trip downtown for a change. Even though it’s very busy downtown most times, and it’s also the holiday time of the year, it was a great night and a prime opportunity to go walk around and experience the Monument Circle holiday lights. We always utilize the mall parking because it’s the best deal in the city and it’s close enough in proximity to most attractions one might want to visit. We decided to grab a bite to eat and decided on Granite City F & B. I had never been to this restaurant before, so I didn’t know much about it except for what I read on Unilocal. The reviews look promising enough, so we went for it. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is very eye appealing; having an upscale handsome décor. It’s pleasantly and warmly decorated with lots of natural refurbished barn wood accents everywhere — from floor to ceiling. For starters, we ordered the artichoke spinach dip appetizer. It was very tasty and savory. It’s notably one of the best versions I have had of this type of dip in any restaurant I have been to thus far. I enjoyed the baked crispy seasoned pita bread served along with it. We also ordered the baby back ribs with fries and coleslaw, and the reuben sandwich with fries. I don’t eat much beef anymore so I ordered my Reuben with turkey instead. Both meals were very very good and on point. The turkey in my sandwich was of good quality and very tasty, and the baby back ribs were surprisingly great. The fries were not served very hot, but we basically dealt with it. The coleslaw was exceptionally good. It had a excellent balance of flavor. It didn’t have too much of anything, vinegar, onion, and also including sugar; which is something some restaurants over do when making coleslaw. I am giving them 4 stars just short of 5 primarily because of the service. I can’t stress enough how important the impression of good(or bad service) reflects upon a restaurant. It, along with the food, can ultimately make or break a restaurant. The service for us was a bit boring and uninspired, but not completely 100% unacceptable or miserable. It’s just nice to get a smile and some form of attention, OR more importantly, some appropriate and respectful eye contact at the very least. It’s nice to get an inkling of warmth and sense that you are encountering someone who wants to be there. More so, someone who can somewhat enjoy and be ever so minutely passionate about their job and/or pride in their performance thereof.

My second time. Brunch yesterday in Carmel and lunch today downtown location. Sad to say, not much different in the experience. Order French onion soup that was so salty it was inedible. Sent it back. Replaced with minestrone was adequate. Had ½ blt sandwich. Ordered it without cheese and it came with cheese. Had to send it back. Had a good amount of avocado which was good. Barely any bacon but bread was good. The fries were also over salted. Didn’t send them back but should have cause they weren’t even hot. Think I am moving them off my dining list.

We were in last night with a group of 16 for the Oktoberfest tapping. Brandy was our server and Kelsey was behind the bar. Brandy did an amazing job taking care of all of us. Everyone was coming in and leaving at different time. So there was consent food and drinks being ordered. We ordered four flat breads and they were great. BBQ chicken, maple bacon, Asian & prosciutto olive. I would recommend any of them. For dinner I ordered the BBQ ribs. It was a full rack that came with coleslaw and fries. So good… My fiancé and myself shared it. Since we were there during happy hour I got double points on my Mug Club card. Yay, extra point towards my next $ 10 off coupon.

After two experiences I am very happy with this place. Good beer fermented here. Good pizza. Great bartender. Really upscale interior yet casual. The bartender remembered b us after two weeks and one visit. I certainly will keep coming. The growler fills are only $ 8 daily & $ 7 on Tuesday.

This is my second trip to a Granite City. I had previously went to one in the airport and had a less then average experience. I assume that this location would be different, but it was not. On our trip they were apparently out of everything, just like the other location! You know what? I get it, it happens, you run out of stuff. Why are you not informing your servers when they get to work. Nothing unusual it happens! But what is absolutely INFURIATING is when you place your order and twenty minutes later they let you know they are out of something. Okay, so set the scene, the place is empty, the eight of us walk in for dinner at 4:30 for a half work meeting, half dinner. We all order 6 beers, a Bloody Mary, and a Margarita. Already you are looking at a $ 15 dollar tip just from drinks alone. After 15 minutes you come back with the two mixed drinks and inform us that you are all out of the beers we ordered. Yep you are all out of dark beers, and of course we all either ordered dark beers or a mix like your«two pull.» FIFTEENMINUTES after we had ordered drinks. As a server you should have known what you were out of before you started your shift, my guess is when you placed your automated order into the bar you never checked till after your smoke break causing us to only get our drinks after we had been there close to thirty minutes. Okay… we have our drinks… we place our food order… wait for it… wait for it… you return to let us know you are out of three of our orders, now twenty minutes after we have placed our food order… We have now been at the place for 50 minutes with one order of drinks and no food. Time is now hour and fifteen minutes after we arrived, we have the drinks we didn’t want and the food we didn’t want. No a huge problem any other place we would have already had two or three rounds of drinks but we are exhausted by your poor service. We paid and left disappointed… most likely never to return. My assumption is there is no management at these places… I could go on… but the comments I would leave would would not help them any…

I’m so torn about Granite City. While I love their food menu, I just can’t get over the fact that there is almost always a wait during the week for lunch and you can’t call ahead. #ain’tnobodygottimeforthat The service is fine, generally. The ambience is nice. They serve beers in super big glasses if you belong to their mug club. Their dinner entrees are huge. And they do offer a lunch menu of several items. All in all, I’m glad they are downtown. I’d just like to get in there without a wait more often.

Food: I came here after running the Indianapolis Monumental Marathon to eat dinner. Per the usual I went with a burger and beers. I started off with the beer sampler for $ 4.95. What a great deal to check out 8 different beers. For my burger, I got the Bison burger with bacon. All of their beers were pretty decent. Couldn’t go wrong with any choice. The burger was flavorful, nice and tasty especially with the added bacon. I finished it off with a pint of the Batch 1000. Service: I had great service. My server was able to recommend a great burger. Overall: A great place to have a few brews and eat a tasty burger! It’s also not too overpriced. I wouldn’t mind coming here again if I’m in the area.
