Hakky Shoe Repair and Comfort Footwear

My interaction with the (person I believe was the) manager of this location was easily the worst interaction I have ever had in retail. One simple question on my part lead to essentially several minutes of this man talking down to me. I may not look like his typical customer, but I desperately need a place to regularly re-​sole my boots. The search continues.

I have used Kimmel in Broad Ripple for 20+ years but it always took 3 – 4 weeks minimum to get shoes repaired. I went to Hakky based up on Unilocal reviews. I was told it would be 1 week to get two shoes fixed. When I went to pick them up on the committed date, they weren’t ready due to a mix up. The owner personally called me on the next business day and the shoes were ready the next business day. The owner was very apologetic and I felt like he truly valued my business. When I went in to pick up the shoes, I was very pleased with the quality of the repair work. Again, Gino, the owner, was apologetic for the mix up and wanted to make sure I was satisfied. I needed a waterproofer for another pair of shoes and he gave this to me free of charge to compensate for the mix up. I will definitely go back again and would recommend Hakky to anyone needing quality shoe repair. Customer service and satisfaction are a priority for this business.

Updated review… Hakky has since dropped the «Instant» from their name and tripled their floor space. Still the same gentleman running the operation (Gino) and still the same attention to detail when working on my Cole Haans.

I hate having to get my shoes fixed. But, Hakky’s makes it all better. So friendly, helpful, and completely up front if he can fix your shoes or not. I last brought in two pairs of heels to be resoled and he let me know what he suggested. They were not ready when I came to pick them up on the agreed upon day. He felt so bad. He was apologizing left and right and asked if he could give me a store credit to help make it right. I was grateful he cared so much and agreed to the store credit. They were ready the next time. They cannot stretch boots, as a heads up, but he even recommended a place to try instead.

The remodel of this store is great they tripled their size and looks great.
I went in today to pick up some shoes my wife had me drop off for repair. They did a fantastic job and she was very happy.
They have been at this location for many years and are a great place to use if you need shoe repairs done!

Most amazing shoe repair place in Indy! He can fix everything and make a pair of shoes look brand new. Will not go anywhere else.

Don’t know how «Instant» a two day shoe repair is, but I’ve seen the gentleman who owns this shop resole everything from the tiniest stiletto boot heels to fancy shmancy dress shoes and make them look good again! The man knows his business and is good at what he does. I’ve gotten another year’s life out of some shoes that, although still comfortable and functional, have lost their, let’s say, aesthetic appeal. Okay they were scuffed to hell. I almost threw a couple pairs out when I recalled seeing this place inside of Castleton Square Mall near Fannie Mae. It is definitely not on the main traffic locale, but not hard to find. The prices are reasonable, and he reuses Marsh grocery bags to package up your finished shoes. It is good to see green practices. I highly recommend!

Since its located in Castleton Mall, its super convenient for me. A tooth (?) came up missing on the zipper of one of my Reiker leather boots that I got while in Bulgaria, so I took it here to get fixed. I walk up, show the gentleman my issue, and he says that he doesnt do zippers. And apologized, which made me feel better. He told me its best to look in the yellow pages and call to make sure the place does zippers, and probably thought that the place in Broad Ripple might do zippers. But he was appreciative of my going to him anyways. The American shoe guys are nicer than the Bulgarian shoe guys. IMO.
