Food was great. I got the BBQ dog and the chilli dog. I’m stuffed. I appreciate any restaurant that offers tater tots as a side. I do not appreciate any restaurant that lets an order go out for delivery without a plastic fork. Because after eating two delicious hot dogs the last thing I want to do is scoop Mac and cheese into my mouth with my hotel key card. Seriously.

Very clean place plus polite, friendly service. Food was quite good & it’s a nice, reasonable option for a quick bite.

The hot dogs have a smokiness that is unique and tasty. The sides are just meh. Italian beef sandwich, a newer item, is ok, definitely not Portillos caliber but not bad. King David’s is the best place in downtown Indy if you are craving a dog.

I love their hot dogs, but was still able to find a vegetarian option here for Lent. Ordered the loaded baked potato with cheddar, sour cream, and mac ‘n cheese toppings. Fantastic!

You want a local restaurant that has good food, but is still a reasonable price, all in Downtown Indy? King David Dogs is for you. I have been a customer for years(from back when they were in their original location), and have never been disappointed with the food. I usually only eat one of three selections when I go. My favorite is the Boom Boom dog. It has a fried egg as one of the ingredients, and the taste is the best. I also like the Barbecue dog(it contains bacon. ’nuff said). When I’m really hungry, the Bad Decision dog will fill that big void.

Some times in life a bad decision is a bad decision. Today for lunch was not one of those times. The bad decision was a good decision. Hotdogs and macaroni and cheese just got together and at Kind David, they put those two together. This chili dog is topped with macaroni and cheese, onions, bacon(who doesn’t love bacon) more cheese and ranch. This is a delicious combination of ingredients and perfect for lunch. The only negative thing that I could say about the Bad Decision is having it with a bun is almost too much as I didn’t finish half the bun. Next time I’ll order a Bad Decision minus the bun. The staff was warm and friendly and even gave their opinions of their favorite cookies sold by the cash register. The place was clean and the staff even picked up my tray when I was done. Overall, I would recommend this place and the Bad Decision, especially if you like hotdogs and macaroni and cheese. When you are done with your meal, you will feel that you made a good decision.

I once was not a big fan of hot dog. It is not a type of high quality protein. It is usually too salty to me. But, surprisingly, I had this during last weekend’s art festival in IMA, was really really good. The dog was not salty, well charred, super Juicy(real meat juice but not grease), and the bun is also delicious. It would be even better if the sauerkraut could be more flavourful. I guess you can make it up by adding more relish. All in all, this place changed my impression to hot dog. definitely worth visiting every now and then.

The dogs are legit. Quarter pound beauties served on a Gonnella poppy seed bun. They are big and beefy with the slightest smokey taste to them. The recipe is a family tradition handed down for generations and is custom made for King David. Don’t be put off by the deep red color, I believe it is a nod to the old term«red hots». House cut fries and crispy tots are a nice accompaniment. Even the soda fountain has that old school diner style ice. Interior is spotless and there is no shortage of staff to help you. I’ll be back soon to try the newly added Italian Beef sandwich or maybe even the dog/beef combo!(if I am feeling adventurous and/or hungover.) Now go get a dog!

This place was pretty great if you like your corn dogs with more dog and less corn bread. I personally prefer less of the hot dog and more of the corn bread; so I wasn’t particularly blown away. But their fresh cut French fries were awesome and their staff was pretty cool.

Good job on the Weiss’ style ham sandwich. I’d say you nailed it, KDD person, even though you were never around when the«real» Weiss’ was open.

Let me start off by saying I want to give them a 3 ½ or four(updated to a 4 !). But I feel that the hotdogs were four-star, but they should come with something. Like throwing a little bit of chips, or a pickle or something. That’s not going to cost the company much because a bag of chips there was like two dollars or something. And I didn’t want French fries or tots… I know with the cost of a big huge industrial bag of chips would cost, not much so it would only cost a few cents more to add that to everyone’s dog. So add some value because five dollars for a hotdog is a little bit expensive, but it wouldn’t seem as expensive if you just garnish it with some chips which would cost you virtually nothing. I’m still hungry after one hotdog, but my better judgment tells me not to eat another one of course so I don’t so I left hungry lol.

So i don’t review on Unilocal very often but this is important-ish. UnilocalBROS. King David Dogs is the realest. Today I went in on my lunch break and ordered food for my boss and I. I made it back to the shop and saw they forgot my cheese sauce. No biggie; I worked in the food industry so I know mistakes happen. A customer comes in and smells the delicious food and I sing their praises to her and she decides to go there for lunch. Maybe an hour and a half later the woman who took my order comes running in and hands me the biggest cookie I have ever seen and starts apologizing profusely because she forgot the cheese sauce. I guess my customer from earlier mentioned me when she went to KDD and that’s how they knew where I worked. DUDESTHEIRCUSTOMERSERVICEISTHEREALEST. If you’re in the mood for greasy delicious food and boss customer service then King David Dogs is the place to go! Highly recommend. You won’t regret it, even after you poop.

Great solution to my craving for a gourmet hotdog. Chicago Dog, tots & drink came to $ 8.15, so a little more than I hoped to spend. Tots were PERFECT. Crispy outside, tatery inside, and warm. Hot dog fully loaded. A tad chewier than I anticipated, but still really great & plenty filling — the dogs are huge. I would definitely go back when the craving hits again. I couldn’t decide between some of the options, so would like to try others! Also, very clean establishment which is important to me even having an appetite! Friendly & fast.

Ok, we happened upon this place when I couldn’t get past my craving for greasy hot dog deliciousness. The Google hunt led us to King David Dogs. I had my whole meal planned based off their menu online before I even walked in, but my plan was immediately thwarted upon arrival when my friend said … «You’ve gotta get the Bad Decision Dog». So I read about this bad decision which was a hot dog with mac n cheese, onions, chili sauce, bacon, ranch and cheddar cheese. Everything I love in one bun, how could I resist? So I made the best bad decision I’ve ever made. Needless to say I had to eat the thing with a knife and fork, but it was worth every messy bite. I will warn everyone, though, that these are not small hot dogs… they are HUGE. I will be coming back over and over again to try just about everything on their menu, this is one of my favorites in the city for sure.

Good God these dogs are delish! This was my first visit to the infamous hot dog emporium and the menu is a bit overwhelming… because you want ALL of it! I settled on the Three Cheese Dog with Nacho, Cheddar, and Swiss cheeses with a side of tater tots(obviously). You walk up to the main counter and let the hot dog artists know which choice of dog you want and while they doctor it up, you go to the opposite end to pay. Pretty easy. I must admit, I was just expecting a regular bun length hot dog like you see in the grocery stores. When I opened up the container, my eyes bulged out of my head at the size! These things are huge! One is definitely enough for lunch. I would suggest getting a fork for your meal as your toppings will inevitably fall out. There’s plenty of seating and the staff is friendly. The prices aren’t bad with dogs ranging from $ 3.99 to $ 5.99. They also have premium toppings you can add for a small additional fee. For those that don’t prefer hot dogs(why did you come here?), they also have a non-dog menu featuring chicken fingers and chili. A really cool feature is that they have a boxed lunch that you can get for $ 8 that includes a signature hot dog with poppy seed bun, 1 bag of chips, and a cookie. I will definitely take advantage of this the next time I’m downtown. A+ King David!

Went to King David Dogs for lunch this week. I LOVE their hot dogs. The Tater Tots are phenomenal!!! There are very few places in Indianapolis where you can get a good Chicago style hot dog… this is definitely one of them.

I went to King David’s for the first time. This Chicago Dog and tots took me back to my childhood growing up in Merrillville, In. I signed up for the loyalty program because I will definitely be back!
