What can you say about Mikie’s that hasn’t already been said about the south side. I’ve had some inconsistent service here and the food seems only above average when you’ve been drinking. Great specials on the menu that you can’t pass up!

Kinda a dive, kinda a sports bar. All I know is this place is CHEAP, on Tuesday I had 216 oz Dos XX drafts, and 10 regular sized tacos and my bill was $ 7. 25 cent tacos on Tuesday, 25 cent wings on Thursday. Not the most amazing tacos or wings I’ve ever had but you can definitely bust a gut on the cheap here. Also the crowd is great for people watching. Service is usually hit on miss depending on how busy they are but the servers are always nice and friendly.

This is definitely my go to place! Their prices are crazy low and their food is from scratch/homemade! If you want it, it’s more than likely on their huge menu. Pool tables, darts and daily specials!

This is my favorite local bar. The drinks are extremely cheap. Mostly service industry people come here. The food isn’t bad and is very cheap. The staff is really friendly. Tuesday is .25 tacos and Thursday is .25 wings bone in or boneless. They have an outdoor patio that is heated where guests can smoke. The have drinks specials everyday. I can get a pitcher of beer for under $ 8. This place is awesome, especially if you are on a budget.

We came for lunch. I had a half order of nachos(thank God) that came on a platter. If that was half, am thankful for not ordering the regular size! My husband had a 20oz Ribeye. The steak was seasoned well and cooked as ordered over an open flame. Both dishes were loaded with food, presented well, and piping hot. Our server was very professional and genuinely happy to help us with their vast menu choices. We’ll be back for more!

I went with friends for a great deal on chicken wings. The food was good and the price was more than fair. Wings were the special of the day. I was upset as was a friend when he wasn’t permitted to take his extra wings home. I felt he paid for them and should have been allowed to take them. I feel like the decision to not allow my friend to take his extra wings home was a rash decision and it upset me. If throwing food away is a policy of this establishment the management should review this policy. Until the policy is reviewed/changed I will not be returning.

What I like about this place, the beer is ice cold, the food is good and it easy on my wallet! I had dinner here on a recent Thursday. It was .25 cent wing night AND there was a football game on. It was packed! So busy they ran out of wings in fact. I ordered the $ 10 ribeye dinner special. The steak was cook the way I ordered it but lacked seasoning– nothing a little salt couldn’t fix. The green beans were cooked with bacon and the twice baked potato was made in house and loaded with cheese. The Texas toast was pretty addicting too! Also I’ve had their fries and they are some of the best in town. They are real potatoes and cooked in duck fat. Yup you heard, me duck fat! I like that this is a no frills working class bar with ice cold beverages and good food all for a great value! I’m planning on becoming a semi-regular. Too good not to. 4 stars because the steak was under seasoned and the service has room for improvement.

A solid three star rating. The pulled pork, chicken Thai wrap and burger we sampled were all nicely done and very reasonably priced. The atmosphere is a neighborhood bar feel, not a ‘fancy’ pub feel. The lunch crowd was definitely enjoying the 25-cent(REALLY only 25-cents) tacos part of their multiple taco Tuesday specials.(Come to think of it, I should have tried at least one, oops). The service was s. l. o. w. We were having a working lunch, so time was not a huge deal, but an hour and a half lunch is too long for most worker bees, including me.

A pleasantly surprising large menu with many options. I opted for the tai chicken wrap which was fantastic ! This place looks a little Forgotten, however they have a very good beer selection to compliment their menu. Mikie’s has nightly drink and menu specials as well. Tonight was taco Tuesday which seemed to be a big hit. I did not expect to be this this impressed. I would give it a try for a night out! I will come back ;).

This place sucks. Rude people and rude bartenders. Does anyone smile? Sorry I wanted to sit at the actual bar but your patrons didn’t want to move their purse. It’s okay though, I don’t mind while you guys stare at me for 10 minutes before someone decides they want to come see what I would like to drink.

Friendly bar staff, with a little friendly questioning offered local travel tips and tastes of the local beers… Sun King weemac, Mashcraft Red, Loved the Scarlet Lane Dorian(coconut) Stout. Unfortunately the grill was closed at the time.

The food is pretty good but the drinks, my goodness, they were terrible! We ordered a whiskey sour and a margarita on the rocks. My friend sent hers back, I struggled through it. Terrible. Good atmosphere but the service isn’t great. If you like pub food, this is for you.

The best chicken fried steak outside of Texas. I’ll get to that in a second though. Also, the specials are definitely worth talking about. Staff was good, beer selection is really good, and the food is great. So why only three stars? As other people mentioned, the crowd there was pretty lame. I was there around 8 – 9 on a Wednesday and it was a bunch of older folks who never really made it in life. Back to the food. They get a big slab of new York strip steak(like 8lbs I think) and hand cut it down for their needs. The country fried steak is cut from this superb cut, and is then pounded out and hand breaded. The end result is a, dare I say delicate(?), steak inside of a light and crispy breading. Phenomenal. The rest of the plate is VERY lacking though. The gravy and mashed potatoes are tasteless and I honestly couldn’t tell where one started and the other ended. The green beans are preportioned and refrigerated, I think microwaved to order. That being said, that incredible slice of steak and it’s accoutrement were only $ 9 because they were on special. Hell, they had at least 7 different food and drink specials every day, which is nuts. There’s always a good deal to be had.

Great food for the prices but the service is terrible. Pro: Taco Tuesday and Wing Thursday! $.25 each! Con: If you ask for a drink don’t expect to get it in till your food gets here 45 minutes later. We come here about once a week but unless you have 2 hours to spend then choose somewhere else.

Great staff, great prices and good food! The patrons there are kind of trashy though.

Beware the French fries. They are cooked in duck fat. This is not on the menu. As a vegetarian I found this appalling. It was only after taking a huge bite of cheese fries that I noticed the odd taste. Upon inquiry they told me about the choice of cooking oil. The fries are the only item cooked in the duck fat. Obviously I didn’t eat the rest of the fries. They said it was my fault for ordering them and still charged me full price. As a matter of fact the bartender then mocked me for being a vegetarian. The owner Mike rolled his eyes at me when I mentioned it to him. I would give zero stars if that was an option.

I go every Tuesday for the tacos! They are wonderful! Plus cheap beer. Can’t beat that! Other great specials during the week as well.

I really, really, REALLY wish I could give this place a higher rating. I love the atmosphere, the food is outstanding, and the price is right. One thing keeps me from giving it a stellar review… the service. It’s just awful. I’ve been here 3 times, and each time, there has been a very lengthy wait to just get a wait staff member to take your order, and even longer to get your food and/or drink. Want another drink? Better be prepared to wait for a while. Mikie’s has a lot going for it. Live entertainment, lots of room, and a great location. With better service, it could be one of my favorites.

Where has this place been??? Seriously! Super cheap food and drink specials, super spacious, pool table, heated smokers deck, dance floor, live bands, and a huge menu! Need I say more? Ok, ok. There is Taco Tuesday(only 25cent tacos!) as well as killer specials every night of the week! Even Friday and Saturday($ 5.99 pizzas on Friday!). It’s huge although it can get crowded really quickly. Parking is also a bitch(the lot is waay too small). But really, this place is just an all around win.

Mikie’s is in a corner of this little strip mall. The location itself has been through numerous incarnations. The interior was once divided by a cumbersome wall and left an absence of a free flowing feeling. It’s now open and the bar itself is inviting to sit at. Plenty of seats. 2 pool tables are to the left and 4 – 5 dart boards are just past. Mikie’s offers plenty of on tap drafts both local and domestic. They always have top shelf liquor and the one beertender who’s served me is very friendly. Mikie’s offers plenty to eat. Maybe too many choices. I’m sure the menu is over 150 offerings. Steak, ribs, chicken, Mexican, wings, salads, pizza, seafood… Tried the wings again tonight. Sweet BBQ this trip. I asked to fry the wings extra long. That’s the trick. Crunchy and comparable to other wings in the area. I’ll be back to whet my whistle.
