Minute Clinic

Minute Clinic has been such a blessing for me several times… I can’t always get in to see my regular doctor the same day and when it’s something relatively minor, who wants to wait? I was pleased with the service at this location the two times I’ve gone in the past year. The nurse practitioner can zap your prescription straight to the pharmacy, which is pretty cool. Plus, while you wait in your prescription you can shop around the store… the «As seen on TV» section is probably my favorite. I’ll tell you now that Strap Perfect, the Shake Weight, and Wonder Hangers are worth the price!

I’m a big fan of Minute Clinic. Yes, they are a national chain. But when you have craptastic health insurance like I do, you can appreciate the fact that you can find out if these clinics are in your network once and then go there anytime you are sick. Let’s face it– when you are sick, the last thing you want to do is spend time researching to figure out which walk-​in clinic is covered by your «consumer driven health plan» and how much the services will cost. Minute Clinic has 14 locations throughout Central Indiana and the costs are clearly listed on their website and at the clinics.
The clinics are really small and typically have one person on-​site: a nurse practitioner. Because of this, you can end up waiting a while (but won’t you find the same thing at doctors’ offices?). On my last visit, I arrived 20 minutes after the clinic opened and was lucky — no wait. However, I went sometime last year and waited more like an hour and a half (at the 135 & Co Line Rd location).
The nurse practitioners are generally friendly and pretty quick, which you can really appreciate when all you want to do is go home and crawl back into bed! Overall, I think Minute Clinic is a great place to rely on for minor sicknesses: sinus infections, strep throat, bronchitis, etc. You’ll find a full list of the services they provide on their website.
