This is a lovely old house with an fascinating host. We stayed in the Dewenter Room, and our bedroom seemed private for old house. It had a regular sized jacuzzi tub, although I just took a shower. We loved that we could have a nice walk downtown(nice for us as walkers at least). The neighborhood was beautiful.

This place was charming and really fun to stay in. Gary, the tenant, bakes and stocked the first floor of the house with all kinds of sweets, there are about 1000 movies to chose from and it is located right in town, but has a small town feel, which is a bonus. The one downside was that the room smelled a little funny, but that’s probably just a price you pay to stay in an old Victorian home!

This place has a funny smell. As we entered into the small kitchen, we could hear snoring from the room adjacent the hall entry. The whole place seemed really outdated and cluttered from all the VHS movies in cabinets throughout the house. They put us in a dark room in the attic which is not pictured on the website, it must be an overflow room because of the random personal hygiene items stored there. The room features unsanitary carpet in the bathroom. This is not the elegant getaway we had envisioned based on the website and the prices.

We had such a great time at Old Northside! Away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Indianapolis(I assume it’s hustling and bustling anyway; we didn’t really go there during the day), this B&B puts you right into a real, residential neighborhood — as a tourist, it was nice not to feel so, well, touristy. With a private parking lot and an electronic code to get in, it was also easy to come and go as we pleased. Gary and JoAnne were quite accommodating and friendly. I especially liked the endless supplies of snacks they had available 24 hours a day! We would definitely go back.
