I love going here to find obscure and locally created publications. They have magazines, journals, and papers from around the world and if you are looking for something different and unique to read this is definitely the place to find it. They are very kind and fun to talk to, aware of current trends, and have excellent recommendations for other stores and restaurants nearby. If you are wanting something to different to read, then this is the place to find it.

Ben is doing it right. He has a collection of some very hard to find periodicals. Seriously, some of the publications you cannot find in any other store in the US. Don’t go here if you’re looking for celebrity gossip publications and the like. DO go here to admire his collection of beautiful magazines from all of the world! The store is setup so that you feel like you’re walking in to someone’s home and picking up a periodical from their coffee table. Thanks for this beautiful addition to Indianapolis!

Finally, here is an art and design periodical bookstore for Indianapolis. It’s small, but cozy and has friendly, helpful owners.(There is also a large, friendly dog who startled me a little bit as I came in, even though I knew he would be there.) It took me longer than it should have to find out that PRINTtEXT existed. So I want to help get the word out. I bought a copy of The Baffler magazine today, and I plan to go back to buy other magazines at least once a month because we NEED local businesses like this. It’s so hard to find inspiration in Indianapolis and Carmel sometimes. Here are lots of weird and interesting international art, fashion, design and literary magazines. Stop by to browse, chat, and buy.

Very laid back and interesting periodical store. Ben and his dog Huckleberry were very accommodating and are happy to see anyone that walks in. If you’re going in without anything in particular to buy it’s not hard to find a print that will catch your interest!

PRINTtEXT recently opened in SoBro and carries an eclectic mix of periodicals and publications. Topics include fashion, design, food, arts, and so forth. As you browse through the materials throughout the shop, you never know what subjects you might come across. And many of the publications are of foreign descent. You can easily immerse yourself in a different world just by flipping through the magazines. I think PRINTtEXT might be on to something here. While there are ebooks, blogs, and various types of online content, it’s a different feeling to have a hard copy of a book/magazine that you can physically hold on to. I am curious to know what the future holds for the shop. Perhaps they can leverage it as a place to bring people together and have discussions on anything and everything.
