I like this place, although every time I’m here for lunch or dinner, I am the youngest non-employee in the place and I am not a young man. Great fried mushroom appetizer. Really good stir fry. I’ve spent a couple hundred dollars here and have never had a complaint. This time, since they sent me a $ 17 coupon for my birthday, I went with the Steak Diane. 4 medallions of filet mignon, cooked to med rare as requested, slathered in a wine brown sauce with plenty of shrooms. Give it a try, just because it’s on 65th St. doesn’t mean you have to be that old to walk in.

The food is always good and the service is always fast at lunch time. Good selection of craft beers. I’ve never been disappointed with the different meals I’ve tried.

An all-around crowd pleaser with high-quality food and a huge menu. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of what would have been a boring lunch at a lot of other places. Had a grilled chicken sandwich and onion rings for lunch at the bar. Everything was cooked perfectly. The sandwich’s homemade knot bun was soft and delicious carb-y goodness. The onion rings were definitely a step above the frozen variety — the batter was thin, crispy and flavorful. Everything came out fast and service was good(although we were at the bar, so it’s easy to get a lot of attention there.) I returned for brunch on Sunday and had Eggs Benedict. I was less impressed by that — it was fine, just nothing special — but the corn casserole that came as a side was amazing. Sweet and savory with real chunks of corn and onion. Mmmmm. The amount of food you get for the price is fantastic. Choice of side plus fruit cup, and you can add a slice of coffee cake for just a dollar. It’s more moist than a typical coffee cake so I’m a fan. There were a lot of $ 10 breakfast specials. Two of my friends got the fried chicken biscuit special and it looked awesome. My other friend got a skillet and it was a gigantic. Service was great; really attentive without being overbearing.

Sahm’s Place is one of my favorite restaurants! Although I usually order takeout from this restaurant, I have eaten in the bar a few times. I recently ordered the Baja Veggie salad with southwest chicken. It was so great and fresh! The salad came with a black bean corn salsa, mixed greens, pico de gallo, fresh avocado and a salsa ranch dressing. It was truly delicious. I always love the side of coffee cake. This coffee cake is my favorite and a common side item at our family parties. Great beer selection, as well!

I love Sahms! I love their buffalo chicken sandwich grilled and fried. I also like their shrimp cigars a lot. My only issue is the my stomach isn’t big enough to ever finish all of the food at once. I always have leftovers, which are wonderful the next day. I wouldn’t let it sit too long cause of the bread. The service here is always great. I have yet to have someone who has messed anything up. *knock on wood*

Underwhelming visit. My wife and I stopped by after a 10 or more years since our last visit. We were greeted quickly and sat immediately on the restaurant side. We placed our drink order, these were quickly brought to us, then the server left before we could give our order. She returned shortly after and we placed our order. We ordered a BLT, jalapeño poppers, chips and queso, and fish & chips. The queso was a yellow cheddar cheese sludge, straight from a can and tasted like yuck. The bacon on the BLT was undercooked, slimy, and mostly fat. The fish and chips is advertised as a beer batter cod, and french fries. The fries were overcooked and«crunched» when eaten. What arrived at my table was corn meal battered fish. I explained this to the waitress and she explained this was their beer battered fish. My drink was empty by the time our main course arrived. Despite having it sitting on the end of our table a refill was never offered. While waiting for our to-go boxes, which took 3 visits to the table to remember, the host asked if we needed anything and I finally got my drink refilled. I remember why it had been so long since our last visit.

I have a weird confession. I avoided Sahm’s establishments for quite some time. Mostly, it was out of the mistaken belief that the restaurants were higher-end, «out of my league» type restaurants. Then, I stopped into a restaurant that I didn’t realize was associated with the Sahm family. Despite having some concerns, I enjoyed the experience and Unilocaled about it. So, I started exploring other Sahm’s connected experiences ranging from the newer Big Lug Canteen to The Roost, a Fishers establishment. I also started hearing from Sahm’s after just about every review, a nice touch that shows me that they actually do care about the customer experience whether it’s great, good or disappointing. I’d always seen Sahm’s Place lingering at the tail end of a long strip center at 65th& Keystone that is anchored by a Kroger with more than its share of vacancies. It’s an obviously older strip center, but for whatever reason I’d never visited this location despite it actually being the closest Sahm’s family restaurant to my actual home. The section Sahm’s Place is located in has one accessible parking spot that is not ADA compliant, though the passenger’s side of it works out decently as it’s next to a bicycle parking only spot. For us disabled drivers? It’s a little more challenging. There’s no actual curb cut, but a ramp that is definitely ADA compliant. I put these issues on the landlord, of course, but they’re worth noting. As you enter what is a small restaurant with a seating capacity of 68, you go through a glass door and are immediately at a hosting area with a handful of chairs for waiting when needed. I went for a late lunch and my only wait was a couple minutes for the hostess to actually arrive. I was seated at a two-top, though it was a slightly larger two-top than the usual. I was told that Maija would be my server. I used the approximately five minutes before she arrived(a tad too long) to check out the menu, though I had already checked out the menu online. Once she arrived, she was friendly and efficient. She took my drink order, the usual unsweetened iced tea. She dropped it off, but instead of taking my order must have thought I was still checking out the menu and left. She came back a couple minutes later and I kept things simple with a classic burger, medium well, along with seasoned fries. The food came out in a timely manner. Sahm’s uses knotted buns that I find a delight. The burger was ordered as cooked. The fries were definitely a flavorful highlight. Maija made sure I got my drink refilled without asking, a definite plus. So, why a three-star review instead of the four-star that I’ve usually given Sahm’s family establishments? It was the little things that, by the end of the meal, had added up to make me think«Well, I can cross that place off my list» instead of «I can’t wait to go back,» the latter being what I thought after my recent visit to The Roost. The parking spot. The modest wait upon arrival. The slightly longer wait for actual service. The food, while tasty, was a touch greasier than I’d expected(to the point I had to wipe grease off the fingers). Maija was friendly and efficient, though I can’t say I ever felt truly welcome — there’s a difference. There was the bump of the wheelchair(NOTE: The server, who was not Maija, did apologize). The phrase«coming through,» spoken again and again at the kitchen doors right next to my table. I was lingering at the end finishing some reading, but the bill was dropped off and the iced tea never topped off once I’d paid. These were all«little things» that individually wouldn’t be a big deal, but when they all occur in one visit it detracts from the experience. In this case, it took the usual four-star rating down to a three-star rating. I wanted to fall in love with Sahm’s Place, a cozy place close to my home. Instead, I’ll have to settle for«like.» They have a bar with a separate entrance, daily specials and a ton o’ craft brews. The restaurant itself has a $ 2.62 menu from 3−6pm daily and from 9pm to close. I got the feeling that they have some truly devoted regulars, a common thing with Sahm’s restaurants, and you could tell the crew here knew some of the customers. While Sahm’s won’t be a regular stomping ground for me, if you’re in the neighborhood it’s got a cozy and intimate environment with solid food and the kind of feeling that makes me believe the more you’re seen the more you’ll feel welcome.

Went for brunch and it was excellent. Bloody Marys $ 4, very spicy, the coffee cake is a must, side order $ 1. Had a make-your-own skillet. Hashbrowns on the bottom, cheddar cheese, two sunny-side-up eggs, and jalapeño poppers(yes, jalapeño poppers, heavenly!) on top with a side of cilantro salsa. It was tasty and very filling. This came with a side of coffee cake and fresh fruit for $ 8.99. Service was fast and efficient. The only knock is that a cup of coffee is $ 2.50.

I love this place Best steak sandwich ever. It is actually steak that I can order to the temp like medium rare. The fresh baked bread is perfect with the au jus. This place has awesome food. I have never sent back a dish here ever. The happy bourbon the bar from 3 – 6 is awesome. All the items are 2.62. I wish there was a Sahm’s on the south side.

I can’t remember the name of sandwich but it was awesome! I would have liked to taste my husband’s fish n chips but I feared for the safety of my fingers and he gobbled it down. He even liked the tarter sauce and he never likes tarter sauce!!! The wing flavor, which was a server recommendation were glorious. It was spicy garlic I think. Check the pic I posted. Beer selection was good, the server knew his shit! And I truly reaped the benefits of his knowledge. Special points for utilizing local suppliers: Smoking Goose is one. We went at dinner time on a Friday and sat in the regular dinning area. We were seated quickly and it wasn’t loud at all in there. Ya know sometimes you don’t go out or try a new place cuz the acoustics might be horrible? Not thid place. After a long week you just want to relax and be waited on while chatting with your companion, then come here. Quality choices in a good atmosphere. Will definately be back!!!

The dishes I ordered sounded exciting, but we’re lacking in flavor, with the exception of the wings. The spicy garlic wings were good. The service was also slightly below average and the restaurant wasn’t busy. Overall it was a mediocre dining experience.

I am adding an extra star for great customer service, because the manager(?) took the extra time to read and respond to my review with a lot of respect and I really appreciate that. I will definitely come back again another day and try it again, I think judging from the ambiance and from the response I was given, I might have just caught them on he tail end a long/bad da(and everyone has an off day sometimes).

You just cant go wrong here. The food is amazing and is really cheap. The drinks are cheap and always strong. I can’t even give a long review because everything is awesome. My favorite meal is a fried chicken salad with ranch and you get a piece of their to die for coffee cake with it. So good. One of my favorite places in Indy.

Sahm’s place was a bit disappointing. The location wasn’t terrible because it’s right down the street from my job. So we could go at the end of the day; which is great. I had checked it out on Unilocal before attending and thought it would satisfy. The menu looked liked there was a variety of food for all taste-buds, a little American… a little Italian… little Mexican. There were plenty of dishes I thought I could find something good I could try. Upon entering, we were greeted pleasantly. I did notice it’s kind of a small space. we were brought to our table… right beside the door.(Maybe I should’ve asked to move; I really don’t like sitting by the door… but no biggie). The server was nice, but did our children’s orders wrong; and I felt like it took a bit long to bring out their dishes. It didn’t seem very busy but… I don’t know. Their Alaskan clam chowder was really good. Honestly, I would go back just for that. They had removed some of the other dishes I wanted to try. I ordered the stir fruit sent it back because it was not appetizing at all. Whatever sauce they cooked it in was way too acidic… too much vinegar… too overpowering. I decided not to order anything else as it was getting late. My husband’s steak Diane was meh. The best didn’t taste like steak and was a little chewy. So not a place I would go to again unless it is to pick up some soup.

I love the atmosphere in Sahm’s and the food is really good. My sandwich had locally sourced meats and was put together to please. The veggie hippy gumbo was spicey and comforting. Service should be first class with all the help running around, but when I asked for my water glass to be filled, she missed my wife’s glass. Looking forward to a better experience next time.

Consistent good service, improved beer list, and best lunch specials in town. My favorite is chowder and chopped salad. The location is great. It is a good midpoint to meet Indy friends when coming from Carmel. They bring it with the brunch. Blueberry pancakes pair well with mimosas. If you don’t want to go all the way downtown or pay Broadripple prices, Sahm’s is it. I think they may be working on outdoor seating… unless they were just fixing something…

I always feel like we bring the average patron age down by 20 years when we step into Sahm’s, but I love it anyway. Their beer list is local and on point. They typically have several styles from Bier that I haven’t seen anywhere else around in town. They have a decent happy hour menu and nightly specials. Be sure to check them out on fried chicken night. :)

It is difficult to find good food nearby late at night, if you’re trying to avoid chain restaurants and/or Broad Ripple Ave. We got out of a movie after 10PM on a Saturday, desperate for food and despairing of the options, when Sahm’s Place popped up on my Unilocal app. We arrived around 10:15PM to find that they were still serving the full menu. We sat on the bar side; the décor looked a little dated, but I instantly felt comfortable in the homey atmosphere. I was surprised at the breadth of the menu and beer list, and saw many local breweries’ symbols charmingly hand-painted on the walls. I ordered the VegHead sandwich with onion rings. It was a delicious grilled sandwich overflowing with tofu, avocado, red pepper, spinach & artichoke dip…3 types of cheese. It sounds like ingredient overload, but it actually was an extremely tasty mishmash of flavors. The onion rings were thin-cut and greasy, but still enjoyable. My partner ordered the My Boy Bleu burger, minus the mysterious-sounding«Columbus» sauce… which our waitress informed us was a slightly spicy, mustard-horseradish type sauce(possibly fry dipping possibility?). We enjoyed our meals, the service was very friendly and we were checked in on multiple times. We’ll definitely be back, especially for me to try out the beer list, and are glad to have found a closeby late night alternative.
