Quickie Review: Soup so good that the Soup Nazi himself would quiver at it’s taste. I noticed Soupremacy on the list for Devour Indy and I thought I’d give it a shot for lunch. I really had no expectations going in, but even if I did they would have been blown away. I got the Chicken Velvet soup, the Endless Summer salad and the cheesecake drizzled with raspberry sauce and all were equally satisfying. The soup and salad were a great compliment to each other. I don’t know if I have ever tasted a soup that has such perfect consistency. I just wanted to keep digging at my bowl to try and get a taste of what was once there… I know, though, that I’ve never had a cheesecake that just melts as soon as it touches my tongue. Match that with the gram cracker crust and it was a euphoric experience. I highly recommend making a stop here ASAP! Thank you to events like Devour Indy for letting businesses such as Soupremacy shine. I would never have known about them otherwise and my taste buds wouldn’t be as happy as they are now.

This time of year, soup is a common meal for me. I always go in hibernation mode and these soups help me to thaw during the winter months. But I still crave Soupremacy when it’s sunny out too. I love to sit on their little patio area and people watch. I always make sure to get the trio. I love sampling the variety they have that day but I always hope Chicken Velvet is available. The bread is always fresh and you can’t go wrong with any of the salads. The customer service is always on point. There’s one guy that always seems to be there, I’ll be sure to catch his name next time. But he greets everyone when coming in and is great at explaining the menu. He’s definitely good at his job, kudos soup guy!

Very good and will definitely return. Chicken velvet was«smooth» and tasty. Ran out of sourdough, or they don’t carry — can’t remember. Skip the chains nearby and give this place a go definitely enough options.

This review is mainly for the lobster bisque which was absolutely delicious. The consistency of the soup is perfect, very creamy and has a lot of interesting flavors. Perfect with a warm loaf of bread on the side. I got a medium sized bowl, 12oz, for about $ 6. Pretty damn good deal if you ask me. I’m a little disappointed they didn’t have any clam chowder though. That’s my favorite kind of soup so hopefully they add it to their menu in the future. It’s a small little shop so seating is somewhat limited inside, but they do have an outside area with seats too. Very clean inside as well. No complaints about the service either, the woman who works here is super friendly and always greats me when I walk in. Visit on a cold day and get yourself a nice warm bowl of soup. You won’t be sorry.

First experience here, and not acceptable. The Owner/Manager was rude to her associate who was simply asking questions. I got the Lobster Bisque and after having more soup left in the pot, they took less out of my cup so they could have another bit to sell. Then, the one thing I was wanting was bread and they sold out with the customer before me. I asked if I could get chips and she said«no» only crackers. The associate was very nice but the older lady was very rude. I’ll stick to my subway soup…

Love this place. It’s right down the block from where I live and the soup is fantastic. By far better than something you can get at a Panera or some other type of Soup/Salad chain. Now this menu is pretty good for a place of this size. I think about 8 – 10 soup options as well as some 3 – 4 salad options. Also there are some bakery items that seem pretty good. Coffee cake, Muffins, Pumpkin Spice breads… Give this place a look if you’re just heading out of the office for a quick bite or just need a quick fix of warmth on these blustery days in Indy. Definitely worth a shot… Oh and most importantly the price is right!

The problem: January. 12 degrees. Snowing. The solution: Soup. Always soup. My virgin visit to Soupremacy was necessitated by these conditions, and the contrast of a blustery, blistery day with vats of steaming, full-flavored soup was just what I needed. The kind, patient gentleman manning the counter let me sample all the vegetarian soups, and when I was having trouble deciding, recommended the Trio(a flight of any three soups in delicious, 6 ounce portions). I chose the seven bean(a smoky, satisfying vegan option), tomato basil(hearty and savory), and creamy roasted red pepper and curry(heaven in a bowl), and was blissfully, completely happy. The only sad thing was that they had run out of bread(Amelia’s bread is usually served with every bowl of soup), but I’ll absolutely be back, so no biggie.

I was so excited to check this place out. Excellent location, welcoming ambience but a rather small place for a group. The female server is kind of listless, maybe she was tired but not very interactive. Perhaps the chef, there was a very nice gentleman who was not only friendly but very helpful. I had lobster bisque which was definitely above average. And I had a salad with literally was some cherry tomatoes n specks of cheese on top of a big block of lettuce. Yes it had some shreds of duck bacon as well. The bread was good but was hard to bite it’s surface, but the inner bit was soft and delicious. They make fresh soups everyday so by evening, they run out of bread as well as some of the soups. I think I’ll come back because of the amazing location when I’m taking a shopping trip to the mall. I don’t think my major reason would be for the food.

Lovely ladies behind the counter. Came in before the lunch rush. Ordered the butternut squash soup and it was very good. If memory serves, they’ll let you try anything. I got a small nibble of the duck fat bacon(interestingly yummy). I’ll definitely be back!

I love soup and Soupremacy delivers steaming bowls of deliciously flavored goodness accompanied by a slice of artisanal bread. Pick your soup(healthy, vegetarian and decadent options available) and your choice of bread. Samples are happily shared if you can’t make up your mind, and the price is very reasonable for lunch downtown. I try a different soup each time I visit and I’ve yet to be disappointed.

I had the chicken noodle and a wedge salad. The fresh pasta they used in the chicken noodle was good but the chicken was slightly off putting. Service was friendly

Soupremacy is just what I needed in my life as we are approaching the winter months! They have delicious, fresh hot soup and a lot of choices! You are able to sample the soups before you order one, which I recommend doing because I was not totally in love with mine. I ordered the chicken velvet, and was just expecting overall a lot more flavor. It is a cream based soup with what seems like crockpot shredded chicken in it. My boyfriend got lobster bisque which was good but we were both wishing for some lobster actually in it! They offer bread with your soup that is from Amelia’s in fountain square and it is yummy! I got the Rosemary. They also serve coffee and hot chocolate, which is a nice treat to go along with that soup! Overall, I am happy for this option so close to the monument circle. It is a quick, tasty option for those who want a good cup o soup.

Soupremacy and I use to be like milk and cookies, tomato soup and grilled cheese, cake and ice cream, and then they stopped selling their tomato bisque as an everyday soup. It has been almost a year since I’ve had their tomato bisque soup and I still dream about it. It brought me back to my childhood of mom made soup. My daydreams are gone now. Bring back tomato bisque! None of their soups quite live up to to the tomato bisque to me but if I had to choose another, I would go for the lobster bisque. Their breads are delicious and service is always great. You can try any soup before you order and if you find a few soups that you like, you can have the trio. Their bar is great people watch around the circle as you stay warm and away from the elements with your soup.

Aaaahhhh soup! My favorite of cold weather foods. And no one does soup better than Soupremacy. I love love love the Italian Kale Parmesean. I get it every time I order from here. Honestly, I haven’t had a soup I didn’t like. If you’re new, definitely get the soup trio and you will get to try a few different soups and find your favorite too.

Light, delicious, but filling! I love this place. It’s great for lunch not too expensive. People who work here are nice! You can try three soups and a salad or do a half soup/salad combo. I recommend the lobster bisque and Kerouac salad! Tip: If you check-in you can get a free drink!

What can I say? Their name tells you what they do, but in my opinion it overstates it a bit. They do make soup here but it’s questionable how soupreme it is. It’s good. No doubt about it. But not exceptional. When a restaurant sells only soup and the accoutrements(salad and bread) one would expect them to do it better than anyone else. It’s their specialty. But it’s not true here. I’ve eaten here a few times and some of their soups are about as good as I could hope for. Others are not. Take the lobster bisque for example. There were zero chunks of lobster. The soup was tasty but lacked salt, and a tad on the thin side. I’ve had much better bisque here in town. The best is at Bravo. I will say the semolina bread is delicious. And I love the idea of this place and the fact that it’s local. I’m just somewhat disappointed in their signature dish — soup. I’m also not happy that the only place to sit for those eating in are the tall bar chairs. But maybe that’s just me. I would give them 3−½ if I could.

A gaggle of expiring groupons + the chance to sample *all* of the selections = SOUP-A-PALOOZA! I was *so* pumped to go in and use up my groupons all in one shot. Yes, I was«that girl»(:hangs head:). In fact, I wanted to give the staff at Soupremacy 5 stars just for having to deal with me. However, after my overall experience and tastings, I could not justly do so. Please hear me out. I did my research on the website, picked the soups I hoped to get, and stopped in after work on a weeknight to get my soupy goodness. I was alone at the counter(thank goodness) to place my order — but noticed that only ONE soup from the website was being offered that day — so I just threw plans out the window and went on. I was asked early on if I had groupons to use — they were about to expire so I probably wasn’t the only procrastinator. Upon hearing this, I was informed that I had to use each one separately and the dude staff working told the cute gal behind the counter to «ring it up however». This led to a tedious dance of ordering in a rush and paying cash for the difference for each order. A pain, yes… but a pain I was willing to endure for what I hoped would be an amazing dinner. I am still not quite sure how a few of the exact same orders ended up costing me very different amounts, but whatever. Of note, I specified IMMEDIATELY that my husband has a true dairy allergy and he would be sharing dinner with me, so I asked for suggestions on what to get that would not kill him. I must mention that the gentleman behind the counter took great care in placing cheeses on the side and omitting things like sour cream to accommodate this request. Star bump for having options that are vegan and dairy free… major star cut for not labeling which soup was which to differentiate once home. Major fail. I mean, come on – there were *9* of them. Luckily I could separate out which ones were cream based and we kind of guessed on the rest. Husband is still alive, so that is the good news. The FOOD: I decided that I would do 3 «Trios»(3 — six ounce soups for like $ 7.50 ish?) which allowed me to try all of the soups they had available at the time(9 total). There were no cold soups offered at my visit, but it was chilly outside, so I can understand this. They loaded me up(all in one bag) and I headed home — whistling some version of the happy soup song or something. Once home, I took my goodies inside and started to unpack them … then I realized that in stacking 9 soups and 2 salads and bread and stuff, they had all smashed through the lids on the bottom 2 soups … which were now on the floor of my car, down my coat, and had left a drip trail through my house. Awesome. I continued to unpack and realized that I was missing a bread and things weren’t labeled, but I kept trying to smile. Then we began the tasting process. Yikes. The salads were good — despite the avocado not being ripe on the Kerouac. Dressings were tasty. The *only* soup that I can say I thought was really good was the Tomato Bisque. Perhaps it was the fresh gouda on top that added the depth I was looking for. Who knows. Second favorite was the Chicken Velvet — probably because I just knew it was thick, melty, cheesy sin and no kinda good for me. I can absolutely say that the Lobster Bisque was terrible. Like sour-tasting, no lobster having, curdled type of terrible. Yuck. I did find one lump that I hoped would be lobster — but it was just a curdle of something sour and horrible. Ugh. The rest of the soups kind of blended together after that. The hubs loved the Onion Soup and liked the Chicken Tortilla. Both tasted watery and just meh to me. Nothing special. In fact, that became a theme for dinner that night — nothing special. Also in the line up was a Pozole(my latino fellas do it better), a Black Bean something-or-rather, chili, and some kind of «stew». The«side» of potato salad for $ 2.50… wow. Pricey. Bland. I appreciate that there was no mayo in it and the blue cheese was in a tray on top for later mixing, but there was feta IN it, so not sure why the cheeses were all separated. The bread was possibly the best part of the meal. The Semolina from Amelia’s bakery was perfect dipped in the Pozole«broth». I really really really wanted to LOVE this place. I really love soup. Perhaps I had this place too hyped in my mind — or I had it up on a soup pedestal pre-visit. I mean, 4 stars on Unilocal with 60+ reviews is great, right? My gripe is this — if you are going to base a business around one namesake thing — make it amazing. Make it ALL amazing. Sure, you can’t please everyone and not everyone has the same tastes… but for the love of soup — at least make it stand out somehow. In a good way. I ended my «meal» questioning if I could have made a really good batch of soup for less than the $ 35 price tag of dinner from Soupremacy. Sad. End rant
