Stores like this are dinosaurs, soon to be made extinct by online competition. The lack of customers upon walking in is proof enough of that. They will pay OK for hard to find DVDs and games, but cherry pick what you have and leave you with most of what you want to sell. If you have any toys, take them to the Toy Pit off of 96th St. You will get a much better offer. They expect to make two or three hundred percent profit on what they buy, which is the greed of corporate owned chain stores showing. The employees have virtually no control over what they can spend or even make offers on. Doubling their money should be more than sufficient. Which brings us to another major issue: Their stuff is sure pricey for second hand. There’s no deals to be found here if it’s anything you could get from eBay or Amazon. These stores are fun to poke around in, but serve no real purpose in this day and age.

There’s 2 locations, one on Broadripple and the other on 82nd. I prefer the store on 82nd, but both locations have such an amazing inventory of classic games for any platform as well as movies, music, comic books, and vinyl records. I’ve stopped giving my business to Gamestop and have since only gone to The Exchange for any gaming purchases.

The Exchange offers the concept of selling used CDs, DVDs, Blue Ray, and Video games. They have a HUGE selection of merchandise and an up to date inventory so they can look up any item and will even coordinate to ship items from other stores. Many of their titles are $ 2.50 or $ 5.00 but some of the more rare or sought after items can creep into the $ 20 – 30 dollar range. They have an awesome selection of old video games and comic books as well. The staff is always friendly and will hold items for 24 hours if you call and they have it in stock. A well recommended alternative to Disc Replay.

I like this store better than the Broad Ripple location for one reason: Parking! With that said, this is your typical 2nd-hand video game shop. I’ve had some good deals here, and I’ve seen some stuff that is wayyy overpriced. The staff is friendly enough, if they don’t seem too stoned to know where they are at. All-in-all, it’s fun to come in here to see what you can get your hands on. Between Disc Replay and this store being in such close proximity to one another, it makes it easy to build-up your collection.

I’m very surprised that more people don’t know about this place. I love Disc Replay, but The Exchange makes it look like a joke! The selection is a thousand times better, especially where vintage games are concerned. I’ve found SO many rare gems here for reasonable prices; it’s the only vintage game store I’ve ever been to where you can’t really find a better price online. They also have DVDs, collectibles, and comics. It’s a nerdy paradise! Excited to go back with my next paycheck!

Wow! My husband & I are tourists visiting Indiana. He googled«vintage video games» on a whim and we found this store. It’s everything we hoped for and more! There’s a huge vintage(and current) video game selection, as well as CDs, DVDs, and some comics too. The prices are very reasonable(especially compared to the prices charged in MA for similar merchandise). I highly recommend this store!

As a collector of old video games and physical media, I warn all buyers to avoid this place and shop at a legitimate store like Disc Replay or Game Xchange. This store sold me a Sega CD console and told me 1) It was all original and 2) it had all of its pieces. First, they passed off the wrong av wire and second, they stripped the power supply from it and tried to sell it separately to someone else. When I called to complain the manager told me it wasn’t «his problem.» I have been a loyal customer the entire time I’ve known of the place. The Exchange’s staff would have to work to know less about their product and really have to put forth a lot of effort to be ruder to customers. These people give the business a bad name. Stop doing business with them because I can guarantee you that down the line they will try to rip you off. The Exchange’s prices are substantially higher than online and other brick and mortar competitors. Their merchandise quality is inferior. There is no reason to ever enter their store or spend your hard earned dollars in it.

As someone who loves physical media– old video games, DVDs, CDs etc, I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered this place! The Exchange is a store that specializes in selling used media. They have quite a selection too. I collect lots of old video games so I was glad to see they carry about everything. NES, SNES, N64, Genesis, Sega CD, Atari 2600, modern systems… you name it they got it. The selection is pretty good, but the rare/good stuff gets snatched up pretty quickly. Prices are pretty reasonable. There’s tons of DVDs and CDs as well. It’s great for finding stuff that’s out of print. The story is very nerd friendly. Aside from movies, games and music, they have some toys, old board games, and a few comic books. They also buy, though I cannot say how much they give you as I’ve never sold anything to them. It’s probably about what you’d expect i.e. not much. So yeah, if you’re a physical media junkie, I’d advise you to check this place out. Great selection, good prices and I’ve never bought anything from here that was in bad condition. If you’re a cheapskate like me, you’ll want to price compare with the Disc Replay located just across the street.
