Apple Tree Inn

I was very impressed with the service, and cleanliness of the room and hallways. I will definitely stay here again!

If you’re the type of person who needs everything new and fancy, this isn’t the hotel for you. But, if you don’t mind staying in a hotel that’s a bit older, then you won’t mind the Apple Tree Inn. Everything in the room was fine and comfortable. I especially appreciated the real coffee mugs. Breakfast was good and lots of selection. I missed having eggs, but there was at least sausage and gravy, biscuits, and waffles. Staff was very friendly and helpful. My only complaint, and the reason for 4 stars, is the hallways smelled like smoke and there is no pool.

I have stayed here twice in the past. Once when it first opened and then a few years ago when I was in Indianola for my aunt’s funeral. Couldn’t beat the price. The décor was dated but clean. Rooms could use some soundproofing, as I heard my nephew’s phone going off in the middle of the night in the room next door (and I’m not a light sleeper either).

I am sitting in a room that smells like mold. There is no need to review anything else because $ 70 for a moldy room? Why would anyone stay here? Why am I staying here?

This was a return stay for me at this hotel… Aug 2014. I wish I had better things to say :-/​I’m afraid that the overall condition and feel of this hotel has declined to a point at which if they do not infuse a substantial amount of time thought and money into remodeling it… we won’t be returning. It’s just got a bare bones, depressing feel to it. And perhaps if they only charged $ 69 per night maybe one could accept that it’s a ‘get what you pay for it’ hotel… but it’s $ 100 per night and for me that’s just unacceptable. The front desk help was pleasant as was the housekeeping. But the halls are musty smelly dim and hot. The room reeked of cigarettes. The floors though vacuumed felt dirty. Furniture and pillows were worn or totally needed replaced. It’s too bad. I hope they can breath some life and quality back into the place!

We had a very nice room — the staff was friendly and even the breakfast was included. they have a waffle maker, cereal, and pastries. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice the motel was. The whole town was well kept up and the downtown section looked like «main street USA»
