Over the years I have purchased living room, bedroom and dining room furniture. I recently moved and needed a recliner and sofa for my man cave. The first person I met was Jessica, she is the always smiling, very cheerful and competent receptionist. As you know, The sales staff can be a bit over bearing, Chris Ortiz lets you browse and is there when you have a question. Overall, Mathis has always had the best selection and price. Thanks to Jessica and Chris for exceptional service!

They need to get more in line with the different people and financial backgrounds that call the valley home, if I can drive 2 hours to LA and get similar pieces for a 1⁄3 of the cost then you’re overpriced. The kicker is the«designer collection» part of the store, way to alienate clientele and almost instantly make them feel inadequate… We came in ready to buy some furniture and left feeling almost insulted by the ridiculous pricing. Sales staff is nice, but it’s almost to a fault(saccharin). It is such a hassle to find furniture in the valley, this place preys on that. Try something else.

I have been shopping at Mathis Brothers in Indio for a few years now… I’ve purchased many pieces of furniture from them. Elaine Simmons(sales) is the best! Easy to work with and always looking out for my interests and not pushing anything. Always helps!!! And Jessica and Yanet and so many others in Customer Service are fantastic!!! I go in, pay my bill, or buy new stuff and never have an issue. They have a HUGE selection of all types of furniture!!! No matter your price range, I’m sure you’ll find something at Mathis Brothers… And check out the upstairs CLEARANCECENTER — with one-offs and close-outs(and some scratch & nick pieces) that can save you hundreds of dollars… You should be able to find your style, your price and your choice at Mathis Brothers!!! I’ve purchased dining tables & pub stools, power recliner theatre seating, chairs, ottomans, tables, lamps, accessories and so much more. Never had any trouble with any of it… Furniture is well built and solid… Like most moderately prices, massed produced products, I’m sure that you’ll find less«all solid wood» and more«composite wood with veneers» in the line up and — let’s be honest — these types of «wood» will not stand up to the use and abuse of more old-style hard wood furniture. But the materials are up to snuff for most families and needs…

We just bought 15,000 $ in furniture. This includes a beautiful 8×10 rug. Byron in the rug department brought several rugs and sizes to our house and we found the perfect rug. Byron really knows what he’s doing and remembers every rug that we liked. Rick O was our salesperson that we bought all of our furniture from. He’s friendly and well dressed. But that’s where it ends. His computer skills are not proficient, so ordering what we wanted took forever and with our designer with us at $ 100 per hour, I wasn’t happy about this. Delivery day: they brought 2 different sized bar stools. Forgot the leaf for the dining room table. The buffet table door was off kilter. A breakfast table that we ordered and paid for; no one even knew ANYTHING about it. When I called Rick O, he was not helpful, never called us back, didn’t even remember us. My husband and I had to go to Mathis Brothers 3 times and the manager didn’t help us. Veronica in customer service fixed everything. She was really good. I love the furniture at MB, but there is no one checking the orders before they go out for delivery and the sales people need to practice their computer skills. By the way, they sent someone out to look at the crooked buffet table door a week after we called. The table is in order(6 weeks). NOONE from Mathis Brothers ever contacted us. WE had to make calls and trips to get our issues resolved. Bottom line: Furniture 4 stars Customer Service and Quality Control LACKING

First off, great selection and customer service. They have a range of furniture catering to all price points. My salesman was very courteous and knowledgeable about the product. I enjoyed shopping over here very much. Simply bought 6 chairs and a corner table. Very easy to work with.\ I can not believe all the cry babies on tis website. Specially the lady who bitched about the fact that Mathis wanted to charge for delivery to her grandmother, Grow up if you care so much for your grandmother go pick it up yourself. Gas is not free. I had to laugh at some of the real stupid complaints. No wonder we have a idiot in the White House.

Had a wonderful customer service experience today with, sales associate, David Hampton. Purchased a rather large art piece that wouldn’t fit in our car. David offered to have it wrapped in bubble and then personally delivered it to our home. Go to Mathis and ask for David.

This store sells pure junk! I note that most of the reviews are about the salespeople. Some of the sales people are probably fine but, in the end, I’m more interested in the quality of the furniture that is sold, not the personnel who sells it to you. We bought four rooms of furniture from Mathis Bros when we moved here. After several years, I can not remember a single piece that didn’t turn out to be junk! I just assumed that since they were the largest store in the valley, they must be one of the best. NOT! Expensive lesson learned. Exercise due diligence when shopping here. Best to go elsewhere; just about anywhere else…

The stores sales staff is very helpful This review is about the furniture and the so called warranty we purchased. We have had our couch and love seat for about 3.5 years and the handle for the kick out has broken at least 3 times now and the stain has come off the leather so my couch looks like it 15 years old or more. Call the warranty company and they say sorry didn’t cover that. Well what the hell does it cover the store told me they took care of the handle issue internally so I’m confused what the warranty covers that I was told covers just about everything except purposeful damage. Bottom line shabby furniture and worthless warranty. Very disappointed client. 35 year Coachella valley resident.

We’ve had our furniture since February but the door to the dresser were wrong. Twice!!! My final payment was due so I wanted to wait and pay my final payment when my doors were finally shipped. Monique in customer service is amazing but I’m still not happy about having paid for something that is incomplete. Come to find out Mathis HAS been paid in full its the finance company who will be left waiting for my final payment. I agreed to pay the final payment because I do not want to pay interest on this but Mathis wants to charge a fee to take the payment over the phone so now they still have to wait while I mail a check. I received a call back from the finance company and they took the payment over the phone and waived the fee. So what I feel is once Mathis has been paid do they really care? By the way my doors to my dresser will not be in for 90 to 120 days.

We have been waiting over an hour for a response to a credit application. We were told it would be 10 minutes. At most stores, it takes seconds for approval. This is unbelievably rude and puzzling. What could possibly take that long? After wasting an hour, we left and went to Ashley.

We visited the Indio CA store for the first time after relocating here recently. The place is huge with a lot to see. We won’t go back however as the person who«greeted» us followed us all through the store, even though we told her we were just interested in seeing this store for the first time. It was creepy… no matter which room or which floor we were in, she was there… CREEPY !!! We left as we felt we were being stalked and will never go back.

We have purchased from Mathis Brothers in Indio two times in the last 18 months. Michael Ortiz is a super star. No pressure sales, just fair and honest, and most of all… PATIENT! We spent the better part of two days in this store, with measuring tools, cameras, ordering, changing orders etc. And Michael was helpful and gave honest opinions about our ideas. A new kitchen, entertaining area, and den ordered! I would go back to this store again. I always work with Michael Ortiz. Never any disappointment. …only great service and great products!

My mom ordered a twin size mattress no box spring, from the Indio store to Desert hot springs. They charged her $ 90 delivery for $ 189 mattress. One guy carried it in on his shoulder. She is a senior citizen and can’t carry things like that. I think that charge is a total ripoff. Taking advantage of a senior citizen who has spent a lot if money at Mathis Brothers.

purchased, 4 barstools, 3 large pictures, coffee table, 2 upholstered bed frames and a «custom» sofa and chair! Wow, the salespeople are attentive, make promises and great when it comes to customer service when you’re buying. BUT, once you’ve paid for it and problems start arising… customer service is horrible! Problem after problem occurred and would think once the«Store Manager» has to step in things would get resolved… NOPE! Finally my salesperson’s direct manager stepped in «James» and I thought«Ok» this seems promising… NOPE! In the end, Mathis needs to enforce to their sales team and management as well… DONOTMAKEPROMISES&BETRUTHFUL! It’s bad enough that«Salespeople» make promises and not keep them, but the worst is when«Management» does the same! Shame on you… Mathis Brothers! Unfortunately«Carol» has passed away. We still received excellent service although a handicapped scooter would have made shopping in such a cavernous space bearable. Had a couple of «issues» regarding what was and wasn’t delivered but got rescued by CONNIE in customer service who was most accomodating in handling our problem and making us feel like an appreciated customer. Second home furnished by Mathis Bros and we will continue to frequent them. Hopefully, next time a scooter will make shopping more pleasurable.

Bought a recliner from the Indio location. Special order. It arrived early and I am happy with it. Needed a new mattress. Had the Serta model number and we wanted to see it and try it in the store. Called Mathis Sleep Centers and asked if they had it on the floor. They told me to call the Indio Store as it was in stock. Called Indio to see if it was available and was told they had it on display. Drove 50 miles only to be told at the store that they did not have it in stock or on the floor. Very disappointed. Drove home to find out that Sit’n Sleep 5 minx from my home had it on the floor and in stock. We bought it the same day. Great service, no up selling. Disappointed in Mathis Bros. Hurray for Sit’n Sleep.
