The personnel are friendly. The food tasted good but I had a hard time getting over the fact that the beef was raw. If you don’t have much experience with Ethiopian food and are uncomfortable with raw meat I recommend that you ask if the meat you order is cooked. That isn’t clear in the menu description.

So I walked into this place on accident and didn’t realize I was in the wrong place until I’d already ordered my food. The first thing I noticed was the big red C on the window. I figured I’d give it a chance anyway. I ordered the veggie combination. The woman behind the counter proceeded to pull some containers from somewhere under the counter. No lids on these containers and used the spoons that had already been sitting in them. She pulled out this tray and began scooping each item from the containers onto it and I’m thinking«I know she’s not gonna put this in a microwave… right?» And yes, she puts this tray in the microwave. Next, oh no, she’s out of injera. So she leaves me in the restaurant ALONE to walk to the ethiopian restaurant next door(the one I intended to walk into). So I’m waiting. Alone. She comes back, pops the tray out of the microwave, and scoops the food into a to go box. Gross. Never coming back.

This was my first time tasting Ethiopian food. As soon as I walked in I was greeted pleasantly and helped out with the food selections. There are only like 4 actual Ethiopian choices and the rest are Mexican. I chose to eat the Nech Tibs(beef) with a whole lot of Injera(it’s the sponge looking flatbread) The food was actually pretty darn good. Eating it with my hands made more awesome. The setting inside is alright. There is a flatscreen, a couch, a couples small tables, and pictures. The employees(cooks) were really sweet and helpful. Overall experience was cool and I will keep on eating this type of cuisine =)

I searched for Ethiopian food on and bought a 25 dollar coupon for this place. We walked in for lunch to the small but pleasant store, the smell of spices was promising. With a lunch menu of about 10 items, they couldn’t make 2 of them, but that was OK. After about 45 minutes our food(made by 1 person) was ready. Food was worthy of 3 or 4 stars– great tastes but a bit heavy. Heres the catch. As soon as we decided to pay for our bill, the owner decided to handle it, and when I presented the coupon, he RAISEDTHEPRICESOFOURFOOD! We ordered 4 dishes for 8 dollars each, which he changed to 10 dollars each, we ordered 2 waters for 1 dollar, which he changed to 3 waters for 1.50 each, and he doubled the price of a coke and gatorade from $ 1 to $ 2. He wasn’t even there when we ordered or or ate our food. He claimed the coupon was«just advertisement». We got ripped off. Never coming back here again.

A true gem, tucked away in a small strip mall. This café serves up tasty Ethiopian dishes, amazing organic lentil samosas, and FREE WiFi! There a few small tables inside and in the patio where you can make yourself at home. If you live on the Westside and crave Ethiopian food without all the fuss on Fairfax, this is your new local spot. P. S. I’m not sure about the Mexican dishes, but I hear the chef makes a mean spaghetti ;-)
