Sorry to say, but Woody’s sounded promising as a mom-and-pop neighborhood barbecue stand, but ended up being a slight let down. I had one of their lunch specials which was barbecued rib tips with one chicken hot link for $ 7.50(less than their regular prices in the $ 8 – 10 range). Though the order came Southern-style with a couple of slices of moist white bread(wrapped neatly in a sandwich baggie) along with a decent amount of cooked meat and one side order of coleslaw, it did not compare with barbecue I have had at other barbecue restaurants all across town. The tips were slightly over cooked, dry and chewy – which I could’ve tolerated with a good sauce, but the sauce – which I blended as a mix between their regular and spicy sauces – just further added to my disappointment. Their coleslaw, although not overly sweet(which was a good thing), was prepared with too much mayo. And all they offer in terms of drinks are standard fountain-type Coke, Diet Coke, etc. so I walked right next-door to the Subway and got an Arnold Palmer – ice tea/lemonade combination. Maybe on weekends their meats are more freshly prepared, but based upon my experience today, I sadly will not go back. And the icing on the cake was that with my to-go order, they did not include any napkins. How can any respectable BBQ joint not provide napkins until they’re asked?

Over priced, got a sandwich which comes with a side and they offered me mac n cheese and said it would be an extra two dollars, I assumed it would be a good amount for an extra two dollars. I was totally wrong it was so small, the size of cup that they use to give you sauce in. The mac n cheese was not even good, it was bland, the cheese was not fully melted. I live literally 4 blocks away, drove to location and picked up my order, when I got home every time was like warm. Not appetizing at all. I had picked up French fries from Del Taco on Century before heading over to Woodys because he order time was 20mins and the fries were still got when I got home after Woodys. Also we asked the employee what our total order price was over the phone and told us he could not give us the total. All in all, overpriced and poor quality.

This place is a known Los Angeles attraction and a staple in the City of Inglewood. It’s located not too far from the historic Great Western Forum(now called the Forum). This is the Woody’s BBQ chain 4th and newest location. The building was formally an Acosta Taco joint but now has been turned around to a thriving BQQ eatery. The food was awesome. I ordered the BBQ combo dinner(ribs, beef & link), a ½ slab or photo ribs, and a small cup of beans. I also ordered my BBQ sauce mild. The meat was cooked well and had a great taste. The pork ribs made my heart melt which actually was very tasty. The beans were perfectly soft and tasty. It is not wonder this place has been around for so long. I would rate Woody’s in the Top 3BESTBBQ in Los Angeles and definitely worth of 5 stars!

In a nutshell: stick to JUST the meats! Woody’s was always my favorite BBQ joint growing up in Inglewood so I super excited when I found out they opened a new joint TWO blocks from my house! Finally went there on a Saturday and ordered the Combo Dinner(with the ribs, beef and links) + coleslaw and mac and cheese(which is $ 2 extra). For $ 18.50, sounded like an awesome deal. But maybe my childhood memories were a bit fuzzy because I was super disappointed to get home and see the size of the sides that came with the dinner. When I think of DINNER, I think of enough food to fill you up and possibly have leftovers, not bite size chunks of things. The MEAT was just as tasty and flavorful as I remembered but the size of the sides was not worth the price; I know plenty of other places that will give you the bang for your buck when you order combos. So I will definitely go back to Woody’s again but just for the meats; I’ll just have the sides already ready at home.

Bf and I rolled through Inglewood to try this place. I had it bookmarked for months. Service was fast. There was plenty of parking. We ordered the rib tips, which was dry. The macaroni salad was outstanding.

Better Late than never. Last Sunday decided I would give this place a try after waiting over a year for them to open. First I called to see what time they closed the guy told me 7 p.m. on the dot. So I got there around 5:45 and the gate was already closed. But people was outside waiting for food. I went around the block, by the time I came back around they had opened the gate. So I pull in and park. Get to the window and the guy says all we have is beef. We said that’s fine and ordered two Combo dinners. I noticed they were closing the gate when customers were leaving. I asked the young man Why they were closing the gate. He said because they closed at 6. I told him that I had called first to see what time they closed and the guy told me 7 and the sign in the front says 7. He just shrugged his shoulders and went back inside. So we got our food and went home. Open up the combo. One was right but the other had chicken in it instead of the sliced beef. We didn’t ask for substitution. They didn’t ask if we wanted chicken. Never talked about chicken period. So I was quite disappointed. Food was good but those little things are deal breakers. May or may not be back

I came to this location just based off the other locations I’ve visited. Don’t get me wrong the food is BOMB! I just didn’t see any smoke coming from the stacks like the other location in LA. I still went home and didn’t share.

I love that I have a woody’s bbq near my house… the two times that I have been it has not been crowded, the service is really fast, and food is delicious. But the only reason why I’m giving this place three stars is because each time I went I ordered for pick up and each time my food had leaked through the plate and it was a mess everywhere inside the bag.

I have not been to the other locations so this is not a comparison review. And I don’t claim to be an expert at bbq by any means. I went on a Friday around 1130. It was empty, the gentleman got to the window ri ght when I decided my order, just like a minute wait. He was very pleasant. Got the businessmans lunch with potato salad, I think he said both mild and spicy, so medium sauce. It took about 8 minutes for the food to get ready which I thought was fast. Took about 10 minutes for me to get home but still nice and warm. It also came with two loafs of white bread which I dipped in the yummy sauce. The ribs were good nice amount of meat on it, tender with good flavor. The chicken links had a hint of spice, with that snap that comes with a nice sausage. Potato salad was good nothing special to me. Oh the sauce was just spicy enough that you know it’s there but not overly spicy. But then again I think Del Taco hot sauce is really spicy. :) Overall recommend! I will definitely be back to try other things and of course some dessert.

Holiday weekend. What a way to start off. This is a spanky brand né bbq place. This place isn’t even a month old. We have all kind of eatery places and this is what we needed.. It’s always a bit crowded but they have those cute little shaded picnic tables for the guest. I didn’t order the typical ribs, chicken or links, I decide to go for the smoke turkey leg with the mix bbq sauce with 1 side of baked beans. Oh! Did I make a good choice. That smoked turkey neck was big and tender. Flavor galore. The mixed bbq sauce was perfect with a little hint of spice. You can’t really go wrong with baked beans. Their quick with the food and I like the diversity of employees working for Woody’s. Friendly place to eat.
