We chose Hunter House Inn & Suites because they were offering reduced-rate rooms to people attending the seminar we were in town for. On our first day in town, my husband became very ill and was admitted to the ICU of Peterson Regional Medical Center(another business that deserves five stars). When I called Hunter House to explain that we had to cut our visit short and that I needed to check out over the phone, they were very compassionate, understanding and flexible. The remaining day of our stay was refunded to us, we were still given the reduced rate despite staying only one night, they allowed me to mail the room key back to them and they let me charge enough extra onto my card so that I could tip our room maid. They made a difficult time a little bit easier and I genuinely appreciate it.

I’m a local and rented a room for my elderly parents a few times. Mom was always happy. The rooms were clean. Straight forward, no frills but clean. The café served my dad a great breakfast. Last time, dad lost his wallet and the manager turned the room upside down looking for it. Good people

Love this place! It is what it is, but it is clean, quiet and affordable. We’d suggest upgrading to an efficiency if you’ll be there more than a night or two. Their adjacent Hunter House Café is open for breakfast and lunch and serves up generous portions and lots of smiles. The owners, Mike and Nancy, have been innkeepers for a long time and go of their way to make guests happy. While you are there, stop across the street to Old Ingram Loop, a historic shopping area filled with unique galleries and shops. Must sees are Southwestern Elegance and Clint Orms Silversmith. Less than a mile away is the Hill Country Arts Foundation, where you can visit their gallery or catch an outside play in the summer or inside in the winter. Recently moved to their grounds are the replicas of Stonehenge and Easter Island. Bring your cameras!
