Great place. Except for the rock hard mattress. Seriously it was like sleeping on a door on all night. That is the only reason we wouldn’t stay here again. My husband and I both hardly slept all night. Also packed with tourists.

A quaint motel right in the heart of Amish Country. –The Layout of the Property– It is a one floor motel where you enter your room from the outside; no indoor hallways. The reception area is nice, with lots of little souvenirs priced on the countertops and walls. The front desk and continental breakfast area are both in this room. The parking lot is a U shape, with a nice plot of grassy area in the middle. The grassy area is landscaped with a gazebo, flowers, and nice-quality lawn chairs to sit out and watch the horse and buggies go by. –The Room– The room itself is decorated in a country/Amish style — very quaint. It is a little on the small side, but has enough room to move around. It is extremely clean! All of the furniture is in good quality and the wallpaper and carpet look like new. The room comes with an air conditioner, TV, desk, refrigerator, and a corner seating area. Make note that there is no microwave or iron, so plan ahead! The only real con to the room is it is not soundproof to street noise; the motel is on a main road with lots of large-truck traffic. But on the same note you can also here the click-clacking of horses when the Amish buggies go by. –The Bed– The bed is comfortable and the sheets are pristine. The pillows are the perfect mix of firm and fluffy(each bed has 2 pillows). I awoke with no aches or pains. –The Bathroom– The bathroom itself only contains the shower/tub and the toilet. The sink/counter/mirror is located in the main room right outside of the bathroom door. It is tight quarters but it gets the job done. The bathroom is spotless. The shower is very quiet and has a decent shower head. The only issue was how to get the faucet to turn to the shower function; you have to pull down on the tub faucet to activate the shower head(it took literally 3 of us to figure this out). –Breakfast– This motel has a free continental breakfast from 7am-10am. There are about a dozen tables in the seating area. In typical hotel/motel fashion the breakfast is laid out across a countertop running the length of one of the walls. They had a great selection: make-your-own waffles, cereal, yogurt, fruit, pastries, hard boiled eggs, and biscuits with sausage gravy. The beverages included coffee, tea, milk, OJ, apple juice, and water. The staff kept the area clean and refilled. Overall this is a great motel to stay at. The next time my family and I visit this area, we will definitely be staying at the Travelers Rest Motel again!
