Had great location on the lake, awesome waitstaff, great fried platter. Get the fried captains platter. Had live band but not out of place for the location. 10 piece all white rasta band.

This place is closed closed closed. Went out looking for it 2x because there aren’t too many restaurant options in Ovid and upon much searching I realized that it’s next to O’Malley and it looks like it has been closed for some time now. I don’t understand why the telephone let’s me leave a message but yet it explains why the website was down. Go to O’Malleys next door. It’s open!

Good food and quick service. There were a lot of servers to help. After reading other review I have to let you know that the prices were average or low. We really enjoyed our lunch and the view was beautiful. Plus it was super clean and Newley renovated.

I have eaten here several times. I have arrived by boat and car, and I have always enjoyed it immensely. They do a fantastic job with food and service, and the owner is a great guy. It’s worth the drive.

I will continue coming here for the view and the sweet potato fries… everything else is meh. As others have stated, the food and the service are pretty mediocre but those two simple things push this place into 3 star territory for me. Last time I went there for lunch and had the burger which was ridiculously greasy yet overcooked. It came dressed with one slice of tomato and one piece of lettuce taken from the bottom center of the leaf so it was mostly the hard stalk which I found odd enough to remember. I asked for mayo on the side and the server totally forgot about it until I had to walk inside to ask for it since she refused to make eye contact with me both times she was out on the patio. The bun must have been three days old. Come on guys… a burger is so not difficult to get right. You could have at least toasted the darn bun and given me 2 – 3 crisp leaves of lettuce!

Not a great experience. Beautiful view, potential to be great, needs some work. Wait staff, menu, prices, communication, all need major improvement. Next time I’d try the restaurant next door.

While visiting local wineries, we decided to stop here for lunch and to take in a very fine summer’s day. This place has a great location, separated by Cayuga Lake by only a street. The views from the very large deck were sublime. This restaurant even has a dock for boaters to tie up and grab a bite. The food itself was fine, it was what I would expect from an independent restaurant in its price range. We had a steak sandwich which came with fries and a Caesar Salad. Both were average, not bad not great but worth the cost. The restaurant also has a sizable wine list, though many were from outside the region. I had hoped that a local restaurant such as this would focus on local wines as that is one of the big draws to the area. Unfortunately, what hurt the experience was the near total lack of service. We had to find someone to be seated, once seated our order was taken fairly timely and our drinks delivered. The food took awhile to arrive, considering there were only a small number of guests and we had ordered a salad and a sandwich, it seemed a bit long. The fact we had a great view to take in while we waited did help. Once the food came, we had to ask for silver wear and then for condiments including salt as our table lacked them(though other tables did have them in beer six pack boxes). After that, I think our waiter was abducted as we did not see him for quite awhile. Eventually another waiter noticed that we had been waiting for some time and came by and asked if we needed anything and then went to get our check. About 10 min. later our first waiter returned with the check and apologized for forgetting about us. He came back with my credit card about another 10 min. later. If it wasn’t for a great view on an awesome day, this would have been a pretty poor experience.

My husband and I ate here on a beautiful Sunday evening on the patio overlooking Cayuga Lake. He has the Delmonico steak special, which was excellent. I had the fried fish platter, which is also available baked or broiled, but I splurged. It was freshly prepared and delicious. I had to bring the haddock home, but I ate the calamari(which has fried banana peppers and lemon slices!), shrimp and scallops. They were delicious with 3 of the restaurant’s fresh made condiments: lime aioli, cocktail sauce, and tartar sauce – all very different and tasty! Drafts are $ 2.50, and the service was great. The owner waited on us because it was so busy(we didn’t find that out until the end of our meal) so that may have made our service even better. We didn’t wait long and our food arrived in good time. We definitely plan to return for another meal.

Want a nice place overlooking the Cayuga lake for lunch? We found this place a good spot to stop at. When we arrived(Monday lunch) the place was pretty dead, but that was fine by us. The food was ok(my burger was good, but wouldn’t recommend the fish) and the service mixed(one guy brought a coloring book for our two y.o. when we arrived while the waitress really wanted to be elsewhere.). Price pretty normal for this sort of thing — $ 11 for burger. So, while I think my experience is actually not too dissimilar to the other reviewer, I really think the venue overrides any faults and is a great place to visit while driving up Cayuga Lake.(and tempted to give it five stars so it actually shows up on Unilocal when you map the area on Unilocal).
