Owner Carl fit me in for a Saturday equipment change out after I rode Newton’s Revenge on Mt. Washington that morning. RJC had done the mechanics tent for the race. He was hugely helpful and patient. There were lots of complications. He wrestled each one down and had really valuable advice and trouble shooting on a variety of issues. Really knows his stuff and is delightful to work with. I’ll be back. I now have a White Mountains go-to support team!

My husband and I rented two bikes here. We went the night before we picked them up, to pick out the bikes. I did ride the bike in the parking lot to check for seat height, so I didn’t have to shift, which a big mistake. Not until we started riding them the next day did I realize they gave me a rattle trap rustbucket. They knew we were going on a 25 mile, pretty hilly ride which is common in NH. In fact, they suggested it. The shifter on the bike they gave me did not work properly at all. It took all my strength to shift it, at time it was impossible to shift which was a major hassle and made the ride we were on very unpleasant and almost undoable for me. When returned the next day and all they said was, «It’s a little stiff». Stiff? It was almost impossible to shift. I had to ask them to put on a water bottle cage, as the bike I had did not have one at all. I felt that had I not asked, they would not have offered, and each bike ought to have one. They were very good with recommendations as another poster said, they do enjoy working on bikes but the bike they gave me was the worst bike I had been on. They were just concerned with the size of the bike, and the handles leaned so far forward that they must have been for a person over 6 feet tall,(I’m only 5’2″)and the brakes were turned out so far under the handles, it was fitted for someone with fingers a foot long. Being ‘professionals’ I would think they would have seen what needs to be done for each rider. They didn’t fit the bike for me at all and we had the bike three days. We rode one day and the other two we were rained out… fortunately. I think they would have checked out everything on a bike before handing it out. It was really awful and I was so disappointed. They acted like they didn’t want to do anything for us except take our money. I couldn’t wait to get out of there. When we returned the bikes, I’m pretty sure it was the owner that was the nicest to us. I walked in and all the guys just kept talking and barely looked my way. It was like that the three times we were there. My husband and I would walk in, and we were either not greeted, or a glance was thrown my way, and we were not acknowledged. I had to ask them to help us take the bikes off the car rack. I was really angry that they had given me such a crappy bike and to be honest I was not feeling terribly friendly towards them the day we returned our bikes, although I did not say anything to them directly. The power of the internet is the best course.

We roamed into this shop looking for info on local road rides. A couple young guys recommended Passaconaway Road(off the Kankamangus) which was a gorgeous ride. They looked like they were enjoying working on the bikes and were happy to give us recommendations.
