Ever since the rainbow foods shut down on Concorde these prices went ridiculously high. I will never shop at this store again I’ll drive to Eagan or West St. Paul before I shop here. This place is gouging the neighbors with their are high prices. If I could give a minus star I give a –5.

In shopping here recently my mom has made purchases only to get home and find the food was opened and seals broken. Yogurt was opened and a huge scoop taken out of it, also ketchup with no seal. Quality control needs a step up.

After once again getting home from Rainbow and finding that my food was 2 days from expiration date(I swear I checked those eggs before they went in my cart too!) I decided to try Cub Foods again. I have to say they are better than I remember. I have spent the last few years driving past Cub and heading over to Rainbow because they were so close in what they carried and in quality that I decided to drive the extra mile for a store that had better customer service. Now I am thinking that no matter how much better the atmosphere and the customer service are at Rainbow — it’s not worth it if you have to throw away your expensive organic brown eggs two days after you get home. Some of what impressed me at Cub: ~Their organic foods section is bigger than it used to be. ~They have a great selection of fancy stinky cheese. Yum! ~When I walked down the aisle with Olive Oil they had the biggest selection ever! I didn’t know they made that many kinds honestly. ~Their deli fried chicken is much better than a KFC fix. ~Their Tea selection is really good for a chain grocery store. ~They are open 24 hours so if you REALLY need something at an abnormal hour you can get it. ~Their expensive organic brown eggs were fresh and they had more than one choice! WOOT! Things I still don’t like: ~The parking lot is busy and their are teenagers hanging out in it being very teenagerish. ~The teenagers are also running loose in the store and it’s hard to get around some of the aisles where they are hanging out. ~Not enough cashiers. Both times I went there this week I had to wait in line at least three deep and people were behind me as well. They only had two cashiers on both times I came through. ~I had another customer in line behind me at the deli and she was smacking me with her cart for no reason that I can understand. I know this isn’t cubs fault — but part of the reason I don’t like to shop there is because things like this always happen there. It’s like there is a rude cloud hanging over that store or something. So when I add up the positives and the negatives I give it three stars. I will probably shop there more often as I really can’t afford to throw away so much food — but I will probably try hard to get there at off hours to make the shopping experience more pleasant.
