Apparently things in this area of Inverness and Stinson Beach are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. This road apparently is closed in March according to Google but when does it open? I don’t know. My original intention was to go to visit lighthouse at the end of this very remote area of Point Reyes. It took a long time to get to this area and it was not worth it when we went because of a couple mitigating factors… one was the fog was sort of thick at times being this high, secondly we came on a Tuesday and the entrance to the Lighthouse was closed. You can walk past the gate on foot but I wasn’t in the mood to see how far it was. The thing is this area was also very cold and windy. It was kind of scary actually with the wind being as strong as it was and being at the top of a cliff with a really long way down. I was looking to see if I could see any Sea Lions on the rocks below and I couldn’t so it was a bust this time around. I wish I had known the gate to the Lighthouse was closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays… I’ve never heard of things being closed on those days. Stinson Beach was also the same. I wanted to eat lunch there and the sandwich place I wanted to go to was closed. If you ever trek this far out in Point Reyes you will pass by many ranches on the way down. There are outhouse restrooms at this parking lot.
