Their pastor burrito is good. Didn’t see it on the menu but I asked for it anyway and that’s what I got! Pretty darn greasy, but tasty. Appropriately spicy and I appreciated the fresh cilantro inside. Their flan, disappointingly, is actually just cheesecake with caramel sauce. Meh. Flan is _not_cheesecake.

Found a good place to eat in this little town. Very quiet and calm. Our server is very friendly and accommodating. Like she loves to serve. The place is very clean, and the food came pretty fast.

Stopped here on the way back from Death Valley. I got the pastor burrito, and it was delicious! It was served with guacamole on the side, which was very good too, and the service was fabulous. This place is about four miles off Hwy 395, so it’s a good place to stop when you’re coming down from Mammoth or the eastern Sierra. I will definitely eat here again when I’m passing through the area.

Bernadinos is the best Mexican food anywhere. It is well worth the 10 minutes away from highway 395 for a great meal. I particularly love the carne asada macho burrito and the enchiladas. My son loves the carne asada tacos and the chicken quesadilla(as do I). If you go when they have the buffet, get it for the in the dining room homemade tortillas which are fabulous. I only wish they always had the homemade tortillas. I would willingly pay extra for them. The staff is very friendly, service is usually quick and they will adjust orders to your specifications.

Don’t feel like cooking but you don’t want to spend a bunch of money to eat out?(And you don’t want drive thru food) … This is the place for you! There’s a good variety of Mexican dishes and you get a lot on your plate for a good price. The place is big enough for group dinners. The tacos as pastor and magnifico plate are worth a try.

Great small town food is hard to find so we were unexpectedly surprised to sit down to a delicious lunch. I had a delicious bowl of homemade chicken soup, my friends had fish tacos, and tamales. Everything was wonderful although a little different from what we get back home. Will definitely be back, service was great and staff friendly.

I visited Bernardino’s restaurant on a Friday afternoon due to their reputation for having a great Mexican buffets for breakfast on the weekends. I was delighted to discover they also have a evening dinner buffer with fresh fruit and a delightful blend of American meat(ribs, prime rib, fish) and Mexican staples(fresh corn tortillas, enchiladas and ensalada). The folks are very friendly, service oriented and delighted by every customer.

JEANETTE and her staff make some yummy food; we eat there 3−4X a month and the Death Valley Pale Ale is the purrrrrfect beer to drink with their chicken tacos!

Had lunch there yesterday as we were driving back from Bishop. Hadn’t been there for a few years and the experience was as good as it gets. Their tacos are among the best that you can get anywhere. Mine were grilled beef and onions on corn tortillas. I ordered just two and could barely eat them. Service was outstanding and I look forward to stopping there again. Highly recommend stopping there if you’re driving by.

This place is consistently good and one of the few choices in Inyokern for dining. Comfy, casual, friendly service. My go-to is the«appetizer fish taco» and is a great deal at only $ 4.95. Plus, chips and yummy salsa are included. I’ve had the burger several times, too, and it is, in my opinion, better than Classic Burgers about a block away.

The Bernardino family has built a thriving, successful business by serving fresh food, seasoned and cooked perfectly, in a clean, homey, small-town atmosphere. Service is always courteous and special orders don’t phase them(Gotta have my over-easy egg on top of my enchiladas!). Been eating here for years, expect I’ll still be doing so for years to come. Inyokern is less than 5 minutes off CA14 and is a funky, oddly picturesque little desert community with a big heart. Breakfast, lunch or dinner at Bernardino’s is well worth the trip.

Considering there is only 2 other options to eat other than going to the next town over the place is ok but not somewhere I would choose to go if I had other options. When ordering to go there is almost always something forgotten from the order. The food is really greasy and not always as fresh as it should be. The one saving grace is their chips and salsa which is amazing. The last time I went their credit card machine was down and they had no idea when it would be fixed(I was told the management already knew about the problems long before it completely went down but did not find it important to get it fixed) but it is probably fixed by now. Their portion sizes are good but the prices aren’t that great considering the quality. Not usually busy during business hours so usually a fairly quiet environment but they do have their rush periods.

Stopped here on my way to Remington Hot Springs. I had a carne asada burrito, chips and guac — total cost around $ 7! The burrito had lots of carne asada in it, and was really good. GREAT value and I will definitely stop here again. The bathroom was clean, but did smell a little funky. Didn’t affect my opinion of this awesome place!

Solidly A-ok out here in the middle of nowhere and way better than fast food you’ll find within 20 miles. Go ahead and add this to your list of safe sit-down mom & pop places for your next road trip.

Inyokern is a quaint little desert town with desert charm. Swamp coolers, quirky shops and plenty of interesting people from all walks of life. Bernardino’s is a wonderful restaurant with great food! The baked seafood is seriously out of this world! The servers are so friendly!!! We love this place!!!

We stopped in on our way back from bishop the place is cute not much in this town anyway so choices are limited. The salsa is pace picante which kind of upsets me when you go to a restaurant and they use jar salsa… come on people its a Mexican restaurant even I make my own salsa. My husband got the torta he thought it was good I got a buritto it was ok

Middle. Of. Nowhere. Inyokern is like being blasted backwards 40 years. You can basically pass through it in the time you pronounce its name. I noticed everyone was staring at us(probably because we were the only Asians?) I was staying in nearby Ridgecrest and my brochacho took my friend and I here for lunch. Anyways. Bernadino’s. No frills sort of Mexican joint. The bathroom is sort of a trip. It isn’t a stall door, but a regular door you’d find in a house. Hm. The chicken fajita plate was honestly too greasy for my taste. I lifted a piece of chicken and found a pool of juice/fat/oil. The flavor wasn’t too bad but I don’t think this will be my first choice when I return

This is a convenient rest stop on the way up to Bishop or Mammoth and it is better than driving all the way in to Ridgecrest if you just need a quick bite to eat! I give this place 3STARS(a lot more than it deserves) because it’s the only good place to eat on the ride up toward mammoth. At this point, most people will be hungry, so eating anything decent will be good. Also, I really needed to use the restroom and this place had a pretty clean toilet to use! I ordered the cheese enchiladas and they were pretty yummy! My parents got a burrito and it also looked yummy, but the size of the burrito was pretty small compared to the burritos in San Diego. Also, the have a $ 10 all you can eat buffet that looked decent with fresh fruit!

This location is not convenient for lunch break meals as it’s outside of Ridgecrest, but when I do go for dinner, the food is consistently better than its Ridgecrest counterpart. One of the servers tipped us off to the fact that this location makes all the meat for the Taqueria in RC. I love their carnitas and am a HUGE fan of the ‘Not so Jr’ burrito, which is your meat of choice with grilled jalepenos as well as grilled peppers and onions all melted together with mild jack cheese, lettuce, guac and sour cream all rolled up in a piping hot fresh tortilla. The ingredients are perfection together, and the only thing that makes it even better is some of their salsa verde poured onto each bite. One of the downsides(for me anyway) is that this building is old and the temperature is regulated primarily by swamp cooler. There are many stagnant smells swamp coolers can create, and unfortunately the areas near the front entrance and the bathroom always seem to be malodorous due to this. This is not anything the business can help, so I’m not going to ding them on it. Just saying, sometimes desert living can have its downsides… The staff is friendly and genuine, and the cooks are awesome. Can’t say enough good about the servers — ours have always been so helpful and accommodating, going above and beyond their roles to make our experience a great one.

Thanks Unilocal family, this was a good find. I would have no problem making this a regular stop on my trip to Mammoth. We came in on a Thursday night around 7pm, and had no wait. The service was super friendly, and the food was all better than average. This restaurant is about 5 minutes off the freeway.
