Bertha Brock Park is a great place for a large group to host a picnic or other outdoor event. There is a large pavilion with picnic tables and a grill. There is a kiddie jungle gym close by. My dog club holds an annual picnic and draft clinic there.(Drafting is when a dog pulls a cart.) We hold the draft clinic on the large lawn area, then the dogs pull their carts on the paved path through the park. Some of our members come from quite a distance, and camp at the park. Yes, there are mosquitoes, so bring your insect repellent. There is a trout stream, in case you are an angler. Lots of native plants grow along the trail. Nice for photography. There is some poison ivy here and there, so watch it if you step into the underbrush. This park has a lot of amenities like a frisbee golf course, baseball diamond, tennis courts, sledding hill and cross country ski area. There is a lodge house that you can rent. They ask a $ 2 donation of visitors, over at the gate house that is past the picnic area.
