This space! It’s beautifully designed with just the right balance between modern contemporary and upscale feminine fashion. I ordered the Sexy Sangria and although it wasn’t quite strong enough, it was refreshing at the end of a hot summer’s day. The only reason I’m not head over heels in love, is because I love a great drink with an equally great appetizer to match. But, the Yucca Fritas were unavailable and the Parmesan Truffle Fries were only okay. The cheese was sprinkled on top and didn’t melt to the fries so it sadly fell off every fry; we ultimately ate a bowl of fries and were left with a bowl of parmesan truffle goodness that we never got to eat. I was also surprised that they were served with a dish of ketchup instead of scrumptious truffle or garlic aioli. I will say though, that the burgers looked to-die-for — the buns were even branded with the Bardot«B!»

Great experience! We came here on a Tuesday evening, not busy at all. Played great Reggae music. Hip/urban décor. We drank mojitos and ordered tostones(not sweet) for an appetizer. I had the pork tacos — seriously the best I’ve ever had — and my husband had the fish tacos. Super good! Service was great — highly recommend Bardot!

Food is the best in Iowa city, the staff is friendly and the atmosphere is stellar. You forget you’re in Iowa city and the décor is a modern rustic — more what you would find in an upper scale bar in a a large city.

I was optimistic with this bar, once I stepped in I enjoyed the design of the bar, how much open space there was and the overall feel of the environment. The drinks are pricy even by Iowa city standards. Their sound system sounded a little off when I went. The staff was average. Good décor, pricy drinks, average staff, average rating.

One of my favorite bars in Iowa City. They have some kind of drink deal almost every night of the week. I really like coming on Thursday for their $ 4 mojitos which are great. Never too sweet. They have a great variety of cocktails and the atmosphere is really fun. It’s a good place to go during the week and hang out with some friends and play a board game or two. The crowd Bardot attracts is pretty diverse. From college kids to professionals, you can find people from all walks of life here. On weekends it can get a bit crowded with college kids and sometimes it’s a bit rowdy, but no where near as rowdy as a lot of the other bars downtown. One thing I don’t like is that you can be the only group in the bar on a Tuesday or Wednesday night and the music will still be playing so loud that you can’t hear the person across the table from you speak. I would recommend this place if you want something with a fun atmosphere but you’re tired of the ‘typical’ college bars like Brothers and Fieldhouse.

Bardot has a lively atmosphere, great drink menu, and excellent service. Definitely a fun new place in Iowa City.

Definitely not $$$ but for Iowa City it’s on the more expensive side. A lot less expensive than similar places in a bigger city. You’re paying for a drink that has more than two ingredients and takes more than 2 seconds to make. If you’re looking for some actual cocktails, than this is the place to go.
