The small-business model is lost on this place. We have an issue with an appliance we purchased there about two years ago. This is a known issue and has been for well over a year. The funny thing is we were never contacted by them or Whirlpool about the «defect» that they claim is not a defect. After dealing with Whirlpool and Foster, I will say that I am not pleased. I spent more to «buy local». This didn’t achieve anything except taking money out of my pocket and giving it to a small time business. I will be going to Lowe’s from now on and buying Samsung products that carry a 10 year warranty, that also cost less and have more features. Go to the big box store. Value and service is not part of the Foster Appliance way of doing business.

I had a Maytag dryer repaired, blower fan. The company received high marks for friendly service and very prompt service. Once a repairman got here he was able to make repairs with parts that he had on the truck in 20 minutes from start to finish.
The service call it was very steep at just under $ 80, and I got charged $ 50 an hour labor for that 20 minutes. I realize that labor cost by the hour, but I would like to have been charged for 30 minutes of time rather than a full hour. I felt that anyone could have did the same repair at a much lower service call rate, $ 80???
The company moved to Coralville so that will be the address when you search. However I would like to add the blower motor itself was charged appropriately without extra service fees, charges, or Exctra.
