I’m writing this after the second time an artist friend of mine came to me for help with shoddy workmanship from Hawkeye Welding. I have taught several people to weld, and any of my students could have done better with their week or two of experience. These were perfectly simple jobs, no excuse for the poor work but a lack of effort. I also had a very hard time believing how much they charge, $ 70/​hr for the most basic MIG welding?!?

Despite reading the previous review, I called Hawkeye to ask about some repair work to a residential wrought Iron fence. The owner seemed happy to give me a quote, and said he would be back to me in a couple of days. A week later, I called back after not hearing anything. Once again, the owner (who had clearly not written down my information) seemed happy to come by and take a look at the repair project.
After an additional week and still no response, I called Superior Welding. Superior was onsite and completed the work in a couple of days. I highly recommend skipping Hawkeye and calling the folks at Superior.
