Driving through miles and miles of flat Iowa, a rest area like this is useful to get out, catch some fresh air and maybe stretch a little bit before continuing on towards Des Moines. Not much here other than the usual picnic tables, vending machines and a bathroom. But it’s here and I-80 has that going for it. Don’t miss the sign calling out noted Des Moines residents. Uh, I didn’t recognize any of the names. Such as John A Kasson, US Congressman and Assistant Postmaster General. And Mary Jane Coggeshall, «a pioneer in the women’s suffrage movement» and Albert B. Cummins, «a nationally known Progressive leader.»
