I like the many customized veggie salad options available at Pita Pit. My favorite is falafel with black bean, spinach, and veggies. The service is fast and friendly. Great value also.

We loved the food here but now that we are gluten free for medical reasons we can’t eat here anymore. If they had gluten free bread we would eat here again.

Absolutely love pita pit, the turkey crave or the eggs, ham and hashbrowns pita are my favorites. It’s a quick and fresh option for lunch. On the other hand the price is a little high and the delivery is horrendously slow. Overall a good place.

I guess I’m spoiled, being from Chicago where there are so many good Meditteranean eating options. I expected something more than a glorified Subway. I was in the mood for a salad, and saw that there was a salad option, so asked the girl taking orders to clarify whether I’d get more vegetables if I chose to forego the pita. She was completely confused by my question and had to ask the man I presume is the boss. I then told him the meat I wanted, which sounded good but turned out to be ordinary chicken pieces, heated on a grill with something squirted on them. He then asked me to choose vegetables from an array of bins that must have come straight out of a defunct Subway. No taboulah, no Mediterranean salad, no baba ganoush. I had asked the girl to add hummus, and when I requested this from the boss he asked in a loud and accusatory voice, «well, did you PAY for it??!» I said yes, but he checked with the snotty order taker. The salad was just what I would have had at Subway for 2⁄3 the price.

The food here is pretty good, but unfortunately I had an experience here in which afterwards I swore never to step foot in this place again. I was with my friend late at night here when I overheard an employee handing finished pita sandwiches to customers and then saying, «See you next tuesday». For those who don’t know, this essentially means calling someone a «c**t». C-U-Next-Tuesday. Sorry, but I will never again give my money to a restaurant who refers to their customers that way, that’s absurd.

First time in Iowa City, and I happened upon this little gem. As a vegetarian, it’s not easy finding good places to eat in new cities, but I definitely got lucky this time. Soft pitas filled with yoir choice of meat/black bean patty, veggies, and sauce. So good, and so many choices. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Tip: get the sauteed mushrooms and onions, they don’t charge extra! I’ll definitely be back!

Delivery took 2x as long as indicated. Pita makers did not pay attention to special instructions. Food was cold by the time it arrived.

If you like Subway in a pita wrap, this is your place… Although Subway is a little cheaper. I ordered a Caesar Pita with chips and a soda, and I was still hungry when I left. Cost $ 10

We went here during Sunday brunch time when we found out Oasis is closed on Sundays. I was glad we were one of the first customers because this poor guy was working all by himself! While we got our food and enjoyed every bite of the baby-sized pitas, the line got pretty backed up. It didn’t taste/feel as authentic as other greek places, but I thoroughly enjoyed the quality of their ingredients and would def eat here again. P. S. Has anyone read on Failbook, «if Tom Hanks was made of wood, he’d be Tom Planks.»( ) I just can’t help myself! If Brad Pitt was greek, he’d be Pita Pitt.

You want something that tastes good and is easy on your budget? Hit the Pita Pit. They have a variety of choices that will satisfy you no matter if you are a ‘carnivore’ or an ‘herbivore’. And if you are tied to your desk during the lunch hour(or any time) they can deliver! They have their menu on their web site , so you can call in your order, or know what you want before you go. Easy on the budget and yummy in the tummy. That’s a combination that is a win-win in my book.

I wanted it to be better than it was. The service was fair and it was empty. It was a little pricey and tasted okay. Not bad, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to go back.
