Stopped by for a quick lunch. The pizza was really good — not thin, but not real thick; just right. My favorite part about it was the sauce. The sauce on the pizza was really good. Great prices too — I got out for 6.50 and had two slices and a bottle of Coke. Only complaint is there isn’t anywhere to sit really besides the bar on the window.

The Wedge has been my favorite pizzeria since I moved to Iowa City in 2004. They use wheat flour in their crust and they have incredibly delicious and healthy choices on their menu. They’re one of few places that uses FRESH vegetables such as zucchini and broccoli on their pies. Many of the chain pizzerias use questionable vegetables for the healthy option, which is very disappointing. The prices run a little high, but I guarantee its definitely worth it! The Nutcracker is my favorite– it is a pesto based pizza with a mix of acidic gorgonzola and mozzarella cheese, topped with tangy roasted red peppers and pistachios for a pleasant crunch! A monthly pizza craving must have! They even sell single slices which also include some specialty pizzas. They have meaty options such as the Red Baron for the meat lover. Otherwise they also make very loaded salads as well. I highly recommend at least checking out the menu, and giving it a shot at least once or twice. Support local!

I ordered a combination specialty pizza today from The Wedge that was especially delicious(Half Greek Chicken/Half Meatball Parmesan) and delivered quickly. They had more than a few interesting specialty options and I’ll definitely be calling again to try them soon.

I’ve had the Wedge pizza from the Studio Arts Building. I loved everything I’ve had from them, particularly the Nutcracker. I don’t remember the last time I had a pizza from the Wedge so I was craving the Wedge pizza and was going to splurge with my boyfriend. We thought $ 16+ for a pizza was pretty expensive, especially when you can get pizza for the same size anywhere from $ 5 — $ 10. Being college students the price mattered for us. We asked for half and half and they charged extra for that so by the time we got our order it was $ 20.00 for a 14″ pizza. I promised him this is the BEST pizza, it will be worth the price. When we went into the Wedge, it looked a little sketchy. Then when I ate my nutcracker pizza, I just kept finding blonde hair in it. So I was VERY disappointed because we spent our«once a month eating out allowance» on this $ 20.00 pizza that I thought was amazing and wasn’t. And the pizza dough was a little hard.

The taco pizza was ok, but I wouldn’t go much beyond that. A taco pizza is kind of hard to screw up, so being just ok isn’t really a great complement. We also ordered the jerk pizza, which was not very good, and was missing the pineapple. In the end we forgot the leftover jerk pizza slices in the hotel refrigerator and we were not disappointed in the loss of our leftovers.

I wanted to try their pizza, but was turned away when I did a call in order and they would sell me the pizza for the same price that was directly on their website. When I went to check out and the price was higher than anticipated I was told that the website is wrong and would not be willing to match it. This is not trying to get a bargain deal using a coupon, just regular price stated on website. Sign of poor management that will not work with a customer on their error.

I’m writing because I am fed up with this place. There have been lost or wrong orders and late deliveries, but I was still giving them a chance because they are local and pizza is good. This time I have a dozen college kids in my house, all are hungry, pizza was ordered well in advance for 8:30 pm. I started calling at 8:35, no one was picking up the phone until 9:05. And they lost my order! Were not nice on the phone, didn’t even apologize! I ended up ordering at Pizza Hut and am now venting. Will never order from the Wedge again!

Hit or miss, but generally pretty good. Sometimes its better than other times, though. Forget the slices, and just wait for a fresh pizza.

This is without a doubt the best pizza in Iowa City. The Buddha and The Nutcracker are their absolute most delicious pizzas. We will come in and order a pizza and eat few slices while we wait. I crave it at least once a week.

Surprised this place doesn’t have more reviews! But I just moved here. Anyway, this is extremely solid pizza. I brought home a Dagobah last weekend(onions, mushrooms, pepperoni, sausage, FRESHGARLIC) after an uninspiring slice the night before at Pizza on Dubuque, and in my own eyes and those of my boyfriend, the Wedge definitely rescued Iowa City pizza. The fresh garlic was amazing — it was really present, not just a little sprinkle, and it totally elevated the flavor of the pizza. It is on the thinner side but not Brooklyn-style, the cheese mix was fantastic, and the place is cute and small. As they’re also close to my new digs, I will be sure to order from the Wedge every time I need a pizza fix in IC. Props to those poor kids working on a 90 degree day in May in that un-air conditioned building! And still churning out deliciously well-made pizzas!

Always love the Wedge when we’re ordering for delivery. Stopping by for lunch however was a little less exciting — thus the four stars. The pizza here is on the thinner side, but not quite New York-esk with it’s foldability, overall a good balance. For those carnivores among us, they do a good job with all things meat, including some legit specialty pizzas — the Fat Toni Roni being my favorite. For those flower children, they have a bakers dozen of plant/cheese/fish based options that are sure to please even the most rigorous of vegetarian/pescatarians(learned a new word today!) The digs at the Riverside site are minimal, but there’s a table to sit at if you’re not excited about eating in the car. The selection from the spinning serving table inside is mediocre w/3 – 4 types of pizza by the slice and the $ 2.50 slices are a little on the expensive side. Totally appreciate the economic practices that necessitate the slice cost, but it comes out to $ 20 for a pie. $ 1.99 slices would make me stop in more often. Overall, the Wedge is solid. Above average, great pizza, but it’s a step up from Papa John’s(though papa loves his garlic butter) and the selection is pretty phenomenal. Worth checking out, better if you’re ordering it for delivery.

After an utterly disappointing venture to another local pizza establishment(starts with a P, ends with a I don’t think I’ll be eating here again), I was worried that my only hope for a decent pie in the IC area would be in my own kitchen(where on more than one occasion I’ve been known to unleash the fury). The Wedge alleviated this fear. They put out a nice pizza, and they’ve got an above average toppings list, with multiple sauces available. I’d like to see more, but they do have what you need to get a little weird, I’ve just been spoiled by Rudy’s in Lawrence, KS. They also have a large specialty pizza list, and I’m looking forward to trying the Thai chicken pizza. We rocked out with a large, half bacon/pineapple/gorganzola, and half Cajun chicken/fajita peppers on their hand-tossed crust. Flavors were great and there was a proper amount of toppings. Their sauce was good and the crust was surprisingly above average. The prices are pretty good too, we got out with the above for 15 and some change. This loction has AHHH table, so don’t plan on sticking around, but definitely pick up a pie to go.

I had the nutcracker which was totally awesome. A little pricey but you totally get more than what you pay for. I used to get the«wedgetable garden» a lot, so I’m glad that I broke out from that habit and tried other things too. «The Buddha» is amazing as well! Surely one of the best pizza I’ve ever had. The fact that one of the owners works there everyday gives another reason to eat there.

The Wedge offers a host of inventive specialty pizzas for vegetarians and meat-eaters alike.(The Nutcracker, Pesto Veggie and Riverside Pesto pizzas are among my favorite veggie options.) Toppings take center stage at the Wedge, but its somewhat thicker crust is always flavorful and the sauces are appropriately understated. Delivery from the Riverside location is always reliable, the drivers are friendly, and the one inevitable mix-up I’ve experienced was handled superbly by staff. Prices are a bit more expensive than other local pizzerias, but the ingredient selection and quality warrant it. The newer location on the ped mall also serves up pastas, sandwiches and breakfast. The veggie frittata breakfast dish(with sweet potato hash and honey buttered toast) is great, but be sure to ask them to go light on the oil lest you want your frittata drowning in it. Overall, better food, value and service than many of the ‘finer’ area restaurants.
