We’ve gone by this place a few times but never considered stopping because it doesn’t look like it would be good.

You walk in and order. Doesn’t look very big. But then you go to the bigger dinning area. It’s so nice and cute. We enjoyed the atmosphere very much. Had music on. And it’s just a cute place.
We ordered corn nuggets! Omg! So very very good. I wanted more.
My hubby ordered the steak sub. I ordered bacon cheeseburger. My daughter ordered hot wings. And we shared a large order of fries.
Everything was very good. We enjoyed it very much.
The staff was very nice.
Not pricey at all.
Give it a chance. Don’t be like us and pass it up because it doesn’t look nice.
You won’t regret it.

The philly was very good. The bread was fresh and toasted. The hand cut fries were awesome. Don’t come for the decorations, come for the food.
As they say, «they are not fancy, but they have good taste.» They had everything from a lineman’s truck to a Mercedes and Lexus in the parking lot.

I grew up going to Sub Cabin in West Columbia almost every Friday night with my folks and their friends. By High School I had several friends cooking at Sub Cabin. It was a staple of my youth, but the Chinese Wings and the Steak Special were my two favorite things to eat. When I found out that DL McLaughlin’s was the same owners, I drove straight out there. The steak special is still great, as are the chinese wings. Still serve Bud Lite in styrofoam cups (which is good for nostalgia only). You can’t beat the food or the price. I recommend the steak special with mixed peppers! Philly would be proud!

Great price, great service, great cheesesteaks, GREAT FRIES! I would recommend this dive to anyone. Another tried and true local establishment that has been here for years and hopefully will remain for many more. –Ryan C.

If I ever bother to eat lunch when I am in the Irmo area this is my go to spot. Try the Cheese steak man it is delicious and super tasty, the fries are cook to perfection as well. The tea here is made to my liking, and when I want a draft beer it is or was a dollar for a small beer while you wait for your food. Bring cash because the last time I was here I had a buddy who never carries cash and had to do some borrowing to pay for his lunch LAME. Love this place but I don’t know what the hell is up with all the creepy clown pictures from the 70’s on the wall. I guess you guys must hang out with my aunt who is in to that sort of thing. I can deal with the clowns as long as you guys keep making those awesome Cheese steaks no onions dude!

Great food and awesome staff. Glad they take credit cards now. Inside and outside seating VERY kid friendly. Steak special w/​mixed peppers is the way to go. Chinese wings will not disappoint.

Love the club sandwich and the hamburgers. BEST ONION RINGS IN TOWN!

I’ve only been here a couple of times but there is nothing remarkable to note about this place. The burgers were okay and the advertised beer promo was served in an über small glass.
I can never tell when these guys are open — it seems like they are open when they feel like working and our closed when they don’t (which is a great job to have).

Good food neat ambiance. Great pricing great service. Clown paintings creepy.

I’ve only had their philly and fries. Best philly I’ve ever had and I order them most anywhere I go. Cash only so plan accordingly. Bonus: For $ 1 you can have a beer while you wait for a takeout order.
I recommend the Special with mixed peppers (if you can handle moderate spiciness… otherwise just get the sweet peppers.)
The fries are some of the best I’ve ever had too. They have that fresh-​cut texture and taste like you get at the fair, but cooked ever-​so-​slightly darker, which I love!
They also have a few covered picnic tables on the deck outside and dogs are welcome there, which is great for us. It’s difficult to find places that will allow you to bring your pooch these days, but the owner’s of DL McLaughlin’s are dog-​lovers too!

Never had anything bad from DL’s. Has a great cheese steak and wings.

This is the best for a NY cheese and stake sandwich and curly fries at a awesome price, give them a try, you will not be disapointed and they have a bar for happy hour also .
