If you are someone who is always looking for a good deal, and enjoy an ever changing selection of items, then definitely check this place out. Sometimes the prices are a bit high on some of their used goods, but I have found some incredible deals here. They always have a huge selection of interior and exterior doors and flooring. I have also gotten some great deals on paint, stain, and door knobs here. A selection of new furniture and bedding is also offered at a good price. For an extra plus, you won’t pay any tax either!

Restore is a great secret that my dad told me about, that I’m sharing with the rest of the Unilocal-​world. Looking for hardware: they’ve got it! Furniture: check! Kitchen wares: you betcha! The key is to check in often because they are constantly getting new things.

I’m not sure what part of this re-​store other reviewers have been in, but I seem to have visited a different store. I was very disappointed with the Birmingham Re-​Store (in Irondale). Having been to Habitat Re-​Stores in NC, OK, and LA, I can say that the Birmingham store is absolutely nothing like other Re-​Stores. The Birmingham store sells few building supplies at all (e.g. wood, old doors, used hardware light fixtures etc). Most of their tools actually appeared to be new and were quite pricey. Oddly enough, all of their furniture was brand new and very expensive (e.g. several hundred $ for a futon). I agree that the Habitat Re-​Store is a wonderful organization, and have personally benefitted from purchasing used materials at other stores. However, in my opinion, the Birmingham store is not actually a «Re”-Store, as much of their stock was new and far to expensive for anyone looking for a bargain. (I actually checked, and their shovels cost more than new ones from well-​known home improvement stores. That’s ridiculous.)

Look no further, Birmingham DIYers. The Habitat Restore is a depository for leftover, unwanted, or found building materials that are bargain priced for YOU (and me too). Bonus: the proceeds benefit an incredible organization that helps build houses for those who truly need and deserve them: Habitat for Humanity of Birmingham.
Do yourself and your community a favor — donate any leftover building materials you have after a remodel or addition or head to Restore after a Pinterest binge has you itching to build your own headboard out of doors, fence posts, or old lightbulbs (hey, I don’t judge!). The staff are incredibly friendly, the store organized and clean, and the prices, well, let’s just say you won’t find this stuff much cheaper anywhere else that is in good shape.
Note to self: they even sell paint, so no matter what your project is, check out the wares at this Irondale gem to feel good while getting some bang for your buck. Happy crafting!
