Always stop by here when I am in the area. Can’t even count how many times I have came here and I tried pretty much everything I think. The sea salt drinks are good. The pastry are good. I been a customer since 2013. Definitely check this place out

It is noon on a weekday and the line is wrapping around the entire store. Despite the amount of customers here, there are only 2 out of 3 cash registers open. I’m not even trying to purchase any bread here, just a few slices of cake and a drink. There’s a register on the left side of the store specifically for drinks and cakes. BUTWAIT, it’s closed and everyone is forced to check out at the 2 open cash registers. The next time I come here will be either when they open, or near closing time.

85NEVERDISAPPOINTS! Except for when they don’t have the Milk Pudding Buns available. I usually just go early morning and get first stakes! I love their sea salt iced coffee. I feel like I’m on crack after drinking it. Their cakes are so flavorful and delicious! They are my go-to for special occasions. Recently, I went in for that Strawberries & Cream cake and the customer next to me ordered it too! And since I only saw 1 in the case, I was afraid that they sold out, but of course, they had plenty more in the back. How silly of me to underestimate them. They also added a special note, signifying the occasion and it was a HIT!

Sometimes they leave the Brioche out too long on the counter behind the cashiers. I found a huge fly INSIDE the bread. Sorry but I didn’t ask for the extra protein. I love bread and 85, but now I feel I have to inspect each bite carefully…

We were visiting from out of town and stopped by to pick up a cake. We were there about 10a on a Saturday and there was no line. There was a huge selection of yummy pastries including egg custards, brioche, cheese bread and all of your favorite Chinese pastries. When we arrived at our friends’ house we were amazed at the hype surrounding the cake and the bakery itself. Our friends had never been since it always has a line. The Chocolate Raspberry Mousse cake was a huge hit. It was decorated with berries and a gorgeous chocolate shaving flower. When it comes to cake, I have a «go big, or go home» philosophy and this cake definitely fit the bill.

Been coming here multiple times. I usually come here in the morning during my breaks at work. SEASALTICEDCOFFEE is delicious! I recommend it. And there bakery? YUMMY!!! There bakery is always fresh. There boba is not all that great. They do get busy, depending what time you come. I usually come between 7am– 8:30am during the week and they don’t seem to be busy. I tried coming in one day after 11am during the week and forget it! You will be stuck making line just to pay and not to mention parking is hard to find.

It’s a little confusing the first time you visit but they have a ton of choices! Stopped in to pick up a special treat for someone and opted for the chocolate pearl and cinnamon twist . The pearl was divine! Moist chocolate cake topped with chocolate mousse and covered in a lite chocolate pudding type layer. It’s just enough to satisfy a chocolate craving without being too sweet. Will definitely try other things. Go early because it gets busy around 11:30a.

I absolutely love this bakery! This particular location always has all of the breads in stock and they are constantly coming out with FRESHHHHHH bread. Service is great and the line moves very quickly which I appreciate. And there is hardly ever a line. I really like 85 in general because prices are reasonable and the bread tastes delicious– it’s so fluffy. My favorites are the brioche, giant brioche, and the honey broad. Their egg tarts are good too but not really worth the price. Oh and their sea salt coffee is a must try! I do wish they had more tables and seats inside.

This place always has the best and freshest pastries. Literally have been here so many times and every time, it is just as clean, fresh, and tasty. The only thing is that the lines are long but the cashiers are super friendly.

I love coming here. It doesn’t matter where you’re going I’m sure your destination would really appreciate some of the treats that you can bring to them from this bakery. I recommend trying some of the items in the refrigerators as sometimes those get missed but the bread is also out of this world. This place always gets five stars from me!

The first thing my friend told me when I just moved to Irvine was, «You have to try 85 Degrees.» As the only 85 bakery in the US and a popular Asian one at that, I tried it and it instantly became a staple throughout my entire undergrad at UCI. You will often see rushes around noon and throughout the day, with ladies taking out bread by the dozens. Taro bread, brioche, garlic cheese bread, and my favorite mochi egg tarts…(Get your egg custard tart fix at a very affordable rate!) Of course the sweet bread fixing gets old. Only reason I ever come back here now is for their drinks! The first time I ever had a sea salt drink was from here… It was a late night on campus and a group of friends and I were up late studying for finals. I saw her bring back this sea foamy drink, sprinkled with some green powder on top. This is when I fell in love with their Sea Salt Jasmine Tea and Sea Salt Iced Coffee! I’ve dared to try it at other places, but no one has seemed to make theirs up to par. 85 Degrees’ versions are ONPOINT – delicious, tasty, the sea salt foaminess is not too sweet and the right balance of the right tea or coffee. Other places are a disappointment. This is top notch.(Albeit, sea salt may be an «acquired» taste, but ever since I’ve moved away I can’t help but reminisce on how great theirs is and how unappealing all others’ are.) 85, you’re great. They’ve expanded to other locations throughout California, but this one will always have my heart. Stays true to their Asian-bakery-goodness in an Asian-food-plaza.

85 C in Diamond Jamboree, if you want to visit here(especially during meal times on the weekends), expect to spend at least 30 minutes or more in line. However, the huge crowd may be an indicator of how delicious the breads and pastries are here. The boba, in my opinion, is not their best product, as the drink I got had barely any boba in it and was mostly ice unfortunately. A few years ago I tried their maple brick toast which I thought was delicious, but now whenever I visit they never seem to have it… :(

I love the famous breads and drinks 85 °C! There are sometimes lines, but they move fast and their bakers are constantly bringing out fresh batches of their breads. Whether you want something plain and sweet like their milk breads to the chocolate chip bread, or if you want a bread with a little cheese and sausage, they definitely have something for everyone at an extremely low price point. If you like more moist cakes, they offer a really delicious selection of small pastries as well as cakes for parties. They have really good teas and coffees as well, but my life changed recently when my friend suggested that I change from my usual order of boba milk tea to the sea salt jasmine green tea. This drink comes with just the right mixture of creaminess, sweetness, and just a little something fantastic that I can’t fully explain. The only real issue I have with this place is that getting your drink once you order it can sometimes take a really long time and it gets really unorganized and hectic in the drink pickup area. Other than that, they are pretty consistent in their high quality and I recommend stopping by.

Definitely a must when you’re in California! I always stop by here when I visit! It’s so good! I feel like I haven’t tried anything bad. My favorites are the taro bread, the calamari(OMG this is heaven if you like garlic bread), the hotdog bread, cream cheese brioche… I could go on and on and on!!! Lines get really long but be patient, it’s worth the wait! We literally buy a couple boxes to take home! It’s that good!

I love 85 degrees! The pudding swirl and pork sung buns are my favorite! Their Sea Salt Jasmine Green Tea and Taro Marble Smoothie with boba are also my favorites. When 85 degrees first made their mark in Irvine, their breads were the best thing you can bring to an office party or party in general. Everyone loved taking a bite into their fresh breads. The hype of 85 degrees won’t die down anytime soon since they have bakeries across California now. yay! At this particular location in Irvine, be prepared to fight your way through the parking lot in order to find good parking. They have a parking structure as well, but their parking spots are really small. On a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday… it’ll probably take you a good 15 min — 30 min in order to find a good parking spot. If you don’t want the stress, I would park near the grocery store and walk. Upon arriving to the famous 85 degrees, you’re bound to find a long line out of the door. The cashiers are fast so it’ll keep the line moving, but don’t come to 85 degrees if you’re in a rush to go somewhere. The lines are taking forever to move because there are literally people waiting by the kitchen doors waiting for it to fly open with someone shouting«FRESHBREAD!!». Their breads are already fresh, but some people have to have the freshest! After they get their pick, the lines will start moving again. Sometimes, I don’t bother trying to buy the breads because I’m afraid of staring at my body after consuming more than 5 breads in span of 10 minutes. It’s depressing… but I also don’t like to stress out and fight over the freshest bread with everyone else in line. Instead, I’ll go to the other side of the bakery to order my drinks. Hassel Free, Tasty, and no carbs! yay.

This place continues to WOW me! The energy of the place is so good. Came here after lunch from Kicking Crab. I was full… but the place still made me wanna eat. I did try new things today. 1. Egg Tart! Amazing. So good! 2. ALMOND/coconut cinnamon twist. 3. Chocolate Brioche.(Ergh, it looked good. But didn’t taste that good. No chocolate flavor. Well I came for: 1. Cheese Hot Dog 2. Taro Roll 3. Brioche I enjoy coming here. The bread is always fresh. It’s self serve. The cashier is very nice. The staff that is taking the bread out will say, «Hot Bread!» I find this place entertaining. I don’t come here much. It’s on the pricey side. But when I’m town. I come here and spend about 25bucks.

I’m surprised that I still haven’t written a review for this place since I come so often. There used to be huge lines until they opened more bakeries all over California. The layout of the bakery is small and cramped which still makes for congested foot traffic, but much better than it used to be. The breads are good, and for the most part, you get a decent price for what you pay. Over the years, however, I’ve definitely noticed an increase in prices for most, if not all, items. The smaller breads used to be less than $ 1 each but now they’re all more than $ 1. Still, there’s a lot of variety of breads and pastries, especially in recent years when they’ve expanded their menu items to include cookies and mini pies. My go-tos are the custard bun, coffee breads, chocolate breads, and brioches. Their sponge cakes and egg tarts are good too, but I don’t think they’re worth it. Try their jasmine milk tea if you haven’t already! It’s very fragrant and it’s the only drink I order. Their cakes are just okay. They look really pretty, but the texture and flavors are just okay.

Love this place! Yummy pastries and coffee! ANDTHEYHAVEBOBA! C’mon…how much better can it get? I always try to get something new. They have from sweet pastries to cakes to cheesy garlic bread. A lot of variety – you just gotta take the time to try and see what you like best. The only con is the long lines. It’s a pretty popular place so the place may be packed when you come to pickup a delicious pastry and coffee.

We go here just about every time we come to SoCal. I could list half the menu since we always«load up.» The bread tastes good and light. If you’re a coffee person, I highly recommend the Sea Salt Iced Coffee. I ordered one each morning it was so good.

Fresh breadddddd! Have been coming to this location for years now and just now decided to review it! Still my favorite even though they opened one up in SD! Gotta perfectly time to come here to snag all my favorite pastries! The Milk Custard, Berrytale, Red Bean, Raisin Bun, and Taro! The egg tarts have become too pricey for me to get but they are delicious! The Sea Salt coffee is definitely something to try!

Don’t be overwhelmed by the long lines if you go during peak hours because it’s totally worth the wait. I came in today at around 9am and there was no one inside. My friend and I came in to get some coffee and pick up some bread. If you get a chance to get the brioche fresh from the oven it is to die for! It is absolutely perfect in texture, warm, and sweet. The drinks here are also well made. The boba with tea tastes like tea and isn’t overly drenched with sugar. You will actually be able to taste the tea in the drink. The coffee and lattes are also well made and capped off with boba style wrapping. All in all the popularity of this place goes to show that it’s not just hype but that the quality of the food and drinks are great as well. So if you have time and don’t mind the wait, I would definitely suggest coming by for a nice snack or treat!

I’ve loved 85C since they opened their first ever U.S. location in Irvine. Despite the lines, and the crowds, and the overwhelming probability that my favorite bread has run out – I still always come back. I like to think that that’s a general testament for the business itself. People whine and complain about this and that, but in the end, we still always keep going back! Since moving to Irvine, 85C has become one of my regulars. There probably isn’t a week that goes by that I don’t come here. In it’s earlier days, like many others, i’d enter the bakery and immediately start stacking my bread tray sky high! There just aren’t any American bakeries that can make the soft, unique, and delicious bread, reminiscent of Taiwan, that I love! As time passed, and I got a bit bored of their bread, pastry and cake options(even though they definitely release new breads every once in a while), I moved on to their drinks. And lemme tell ya, that stuck. I love love love their drinks. I cannot get over how much I love their drinks. Their drinks aren’t your everyday, run of the mill boba shop drinks. If you’re drinking milk tea, you can taste the tea. It’s not overwhelmed with creamer and sugar and other things. It’s perfect, and delicious, and so, so affordable. My favorites are the sea salt drinks. The sea salt iced coffee, the sea salt jasmine milk tea, and the sea salt black tea. They taste like the kind of drinks I could buy in little tea shops in Taiwan. If I want something to drink in Irvine, this is the first place I go. Despite the crowds, the lines, and the waiting, i’ll always come back if they keep making these drinks!

Pastries are SO good. I got the Strawberry tiramisu and Mango pana cotta. They’re both so good and wasn’t too sweet which I like. For a drink, I got the grapefruit green tea. I think it was okay. It’s too sour for my liking. Service is great. Long lines but they opened all the registers so it went by so fast! I would totally recommend checking this place out. It’s in a plaza full of Asian yummy food.

Ok, I think this will be my last update review for this location. Seriously, their buns doesn’t taste good, is just ok! The egg custard always over cook and not much filling inside at all. The milk cream bun are under cook, the bottom of the bun was doughy like raw. The most drive me nuts problem was they never care to keep the price and description of most of the bakeries. So does it mean people just pay whatever the company tell them to… Really, I’ve walk in there many times and they just seem like not care about keep the description on. I just hate to keep asking what is that… so I have walk out this location many times even I’m ready to buy! And last night just totally pissed me off since it was so crowded, product had no price nor description, customers act like you’re in their way… I’ll rather go to JJ to pick up the bakery then this place!

Ever since 85 opened in several different SoCal locations, the line for 85 Irvine has SIGNIFICANTLY gone down. I remember«back in the day» when Irvine was the only location to have 85 and I used to line up for over an hour just to get some ‘fresh bread’ and drinks! Now, the line is moving faster and faster and there’s a separate line for drinks/cake. However, this doesn’t mean the quality has gone down at all. No, siree. I think it has the same taste and the same customer service as it has had since it opened. The only downfall to this location is the PARKING… asian parking lots/structures and too many people fighting for spots! To Try: Green milk tea, house milk tea, sea salt coffee, mocha ice blended with coffee jelly Breads: brioche, berrytale, hot dog Cake: Black forest, strawberry tiramisu, fruit jelly cup

How have I not written a review for this place?! I frequent it at least couple times a month for the pastries in the refrigerated case. The bread that you select is okay too — just not a huge fan of having people select open aired bread. Who knows who coughed or sneezed on them. But back to the tiramisu, panna cotta, and other delectables in their case. They are fantastic for a quick to go snack. You’d think they were from a fancy restaurant. Any birthday I’m celebrating, this place is where I get my cake. The drinks here are quite yummy too… Sea salt iced coffee = yum! And I’m not even a fan of iced coffee. The line is horrendous on the weekend, but bare in the mornings/mid mornings. Service is non existent, but then again the clientele isn’t superb either, me not included: P

This a wonderful Asian bakery! It’s my second visit, and I don’t plan on it being my last. We live about two hours away, but whenever we are in Irvine, we make it a point to go to one of our top favorite Japanese Curry restaurants, followed by a lightly sweet Asian pastry. They’re almost next door to each other, so it’s convenient to enjoy both. Today is a weekday afternoon, so we didn’t have a wait. When we’ve come on a weekend, I’ve seen the line go way outside. You know that s a good sign that it must be worth the wait! They’ve got a great selection of different breads, custard cups, croissants, cakes, some of which I’ve never seen till I came here. When you walk inside, just grab a tray and some tongs, which are just inside the front entrance. All the goodies are behind clear bakery shelves staring at you saying, «Pick me, pick me!» When you get to the cash register to pay for your purchase, they individually bag each of the items you picked in clear bags. Great idea!!!

I like going to 85 once awhile to grab a quick drink or snack. Though most of their stuff isn’t anything amazing, it is cheap and there is a wide variety. My favorite items are their egg custard tarts, blueberry cream cheese pastry, sea salt iced coffee and sea salt jasmine green tea. This is a perfect place to grab snacks or desserts for a party because of the low prices, I like that their single slice cakes start at $ 2 unlike other bakeries where they can run up to $ 5.

Just updating on the cake I got today for my office-mate’s bday. He picked the cake out himself and chose the«Sea Salt Coffee Brulee Cake» for $ 29. I personally tasted the Sea Salt on the light and airy frosting. The cake tasted like any other Asian-Spongy cake with a hint of «Coffee». I could not for the life of me taste the crème brûlée. Overall, it’s just an «OK» in my opinion. The cake portion really didn’t feed many people, we had to slice it really thin to feed 8 people. I don’t know how fresh these cakes are since they basically sit in their glass fridge until someone adopts them. If the cakes are not getting any adopters, they just sit there for hours. Hmm… makes me think that’s where the dryness comes in. I’m not a «Cake-kinda» person so perhaps my update is really bias but half of our group loved it and the others did not. Will I ever buy another cake from them again… probably since half of my friends like the«Asian-Spongy» cakes. But I will definitely be buying more of their breads/carbs. I do like me some YUMMYBREADS tho!

I’m here at least three times a week. Not sure if I’m in an obsessive phase or what but I currently love their iced jasmine green tea with sea salt. This drink comes with a sea salt cream on top. They recommend shaking the drink so the cream blends into the tea but I love to leave it as is, so when I get to the bottom I have a salty crèma to sip through the straw. SOGOOD. You can get it slightly sweetened if there’s too much sugar for your liking. They offer a ton of other drinks like coffee, boba, blended drinks and grapefruit green tea. As far as the pastries go, ahh! Some girls like a dozen donuts and I like a box of 85 pastries. They’re each around $ 2, some a little less and some a little more. I usually get an egg custard tart, the coconut raisin twist, a cinnamon twist(at register), a walnut raisin bread and last but certainly not least, their premium milk puffy bread. The premium milk puff might be my favorite ever since having it warm! The best is when you catch the staff bringing out a fresh tray of the pastry you wanted. They are so delicious room temp but even more glorious warm. The milky cream just oozes out of the bun with one bite! I’m here at least once a week for their $ 2.50 whole wheat bread. I love the shape of this bread. The square slices are bigger than store bought and its fresher AND cheap. Their raisin bread is also very good. Side note: their cakes are absolutely adorable but as far as that thick rich buttercream I want with a layer cake, I was disappointed with my fruit slice and espresso cake here. Their cream was really light and that might be your preference but I thought for as pretty as they looked, the cakes fell short of 5 star. Stick to their delicious pastries and bread to the right of the entrance. Finding parking on the weekends in this plaza is the only

There are few things in life people can take away from you. They can take away your car, your girlfriend, your dog… Yet, these things can always be replaced with time. 85 degrees bakery has taken away their rose bread: a chewy bread that was once filled with floral notes of the slightly bubbly cleanser we call soap AKA rose. You would think that with the absence of said bread, people go slightly insane, as they find they have lost a fragment of themselves for no apparent reason. How do you live when something that used to be near and dear to you is no longer there? How do you go about those days when your mouth isn’t filled with something that brought you great joy? Trust me, I was quite sad when I had heard the news. You learn to move on and accept that things aren’t the way they used to be. Hopefully, some day, something will appear and reattach what was once missing. That day was today. In order to avoid traffic, I decided to eat, and what a momentous decision that turned out to be. I wasn’t craving anything, and had randomly chosen the freshly baked, «milk butter pastry». Milk and butter indicate a rich dessert, while pastry equates to layers of upon layers of flakey perfection. That’s a big word to use, when something has no flaws. But I find that the milk butter pastry really hit the mark on this one. Do you remember the first time you ever got butterflies? Well, this is a slightly similar experience for your tongue. I believe that you should go into new experiences treading lightly, since you’re not sure what is up ahead — then again, I’m a worry wart so maybe my advice is useless. I digress, but biting into those layers of fat and flour made me reminisce of joyful memories that made my heart skip a beat. The flavor and texture encouraged me to go slow and enjoy the present. I know that even though rose bread will never come back, maybe it has a formidable carbohydrate in its place. After all, when one door closes, another door opens. ================================================================== Tldr; milk butter pastry is GOOOOOOD !!

This is probably one of my new favorite cafes! Went in around 8:30 and it already had its people. I love that they are constantly putting out fresh breads and pastries! The taro latte is delicious and reminded my father of his childhood :) The dough and consistency of all the breads were perfect! The taro puff pastry was good and filling, the green onion bread was savory, and the coconut strudel was great as well! Love this bakery!
