Bad chicken taquitos, Great service. If you really want good Mexican food head to Chipotle or Wahoos. My mediocrely rated review is soley based on the taste and quality of their food not for the service or their staff.

My 1st time. Got chicken taco. It was a lil salty for my taste, but that wasn’t so bad. The bad part was bitting into a big bone!

Our company orders a lunch for approximately 80 people every quarter. This is one of our company’s favorite lunches. The food is fresh and the customer service is excellent. The owner ensures everything is perfect. The kitchen is visible and always very clean. Even the restrooms are very clean. I highly recommend them if you are thinking about catering any type of event and you love tacos!

Very good food. Wife had the tacos and me the chronic nachos. Man in charge had very good customer service skills. Definitely made all the difference.

Friendly atmosphere and the workers are nice, but there is something wrong with my burrito; it’s too salty. I ordered a chicken burrito; it has rice, chicken, refried beans and asked them to add chipotle sauce. I can’t taste anything else except SALT It’s my fourth time here, and first time ordering a burrito. I usually order chicken or carnitas taco. I like my tacos plain with tortilla and chicken/carnitas.

Stopped by for lunch and wanted to try it since I’ve never been, coworker’s mentioned it was pretty good… when I went in the afternoon, the workers just looked tired… the man behind the counter was very nice and gave me some info about was they could make and what was good… but the place just did not look too appealing… I tried the chronic nachos as the guy in front of me ordered it and I had it with chicken… as I was waiting my turn I saw a fly crawling on the scoop handle of the meat… I was trying to tell the guy what I saw but he frankly didn’t seem to care… the girl at the register rang me up, and I showed her the Unilocal check in and received the free chips and salsa… I took it back to work and shared it with some folks… but just the way it felt in there and the slightly unappetizing fly on the food makes me not want to return back for a second time…

It was alright. Nothing special about it. Maybe it just wasn’t authentic enough for me.

The staff at this location is so RUDE! I’ve never seen even half a smile out of any of them. Whoever is doing the hiring obviously isn’t looking for a pleasant demeanor. The food is also hit or miss, on some days the meat is is good & fresh but another super oily & full of fat/nerves to the point that you got to spit out all your taco meat! Eww This place is just not worth my business. & Check your receipts, I’ve been over charged more than once, Don’t waste or time or money here, I’ve tried giving them a couple of chances but the quality keeps getting worser & worser!

I ordered the carne asado nachos and al pastor taco. Both were good enough to satisfy my craving for Mexican food, but nothing too special. I also like that they offer horchata here. If you got a discount book from the Irvine Company you get 20% off!

Just tried this place for the first time. Got a carne asada burrito. It was tasty, good selection of toppings, massive, but nothing to write home about. I actually searched for a California Burrito in Unilocal(I used to live in San Diego, where they’re everywhere) and it turned out they don’t actually have California burritos. FYI, that’s a burrito with French fries(or sometimes just potatoes) inside it. Aside from the let down of not getting what I wanted, it wasn’t bad. It mimics chipotle/subway type ordering. I took mine to-go.

This was my first time here and I had the best experience. I entered the restaurant when only two other customers were there around 5:30pm. I was greeted by one of the friendly guys working hard, grilling meats behind the counter. He clearly explained to me what the difference was between the hand held burrito and the normal breakfast burrito. I went with the handheld bc i didn’t have a huge appetite. I love how they have that option.(4.99) He proceeded to tell me there was a meat selection called machata. I decided to try it, but after going to check for it, it had ran out. He asked if i’d like to choose another meat so i selected the steak. They were just grilling the meat so it was freshly cooked which i loved. After they grilled the meat, u are able to add any salsas, guac, onions, cilantro, and lettuce! I was in heaven! I added everything! The sweet old man ringing me up was funny and helpful and gave me everything i asked for. By this time, a long line had formed in the restaurant. After trying the burrito and the chips i got, it was delicious!!! Exactly what i was craving for and i was so happy i could control all the things that went inside. Service was spectacular and the food is bomb! You need to try this place out at least once! Make sure to tip them! :)

I’ve been in the Irvine area for a while now but I can hardly find any Mexican restaurants around… so when I do find one I make sure to check it out. This place exceeded my expectations. I went in on a Tuesday evening before closing(they close at 9:30, pretty early in my opinion but I wonder why) and service was excellent! The menu is small, but it still manages to offer some variety. Another thing I noticed was that it was similar to Chipotle in the sense that when you order your food, you can pick what you want as you go. On Taco Tuesdays, tacos are only $ 1.99 and they’re quite huge! You can pick everything you want for your tacos and GUACISNOTEXTRA. I was surprised when I saw guac was not extra considering most places charge you $ 1-$ 3 just for a spoon of guacamole. My friend ordered a California burrito and he was pretty pleased with the taste, and the size of the burrito was big too. Service here is great, staff was very kind to us. And be sure to check in to receive the free chips and salsa! I’d totally recommend this place to everyone in the Irvine area.

It’s more or less a funkier Chipotle with a similar ordering system. There’s a bit more variety(fish tacos, shrimp, etc). And Chronic Tacos just«feels» better than Chipotle; in that the staff seems friendlier and more personable. No serious complaints on the food. I got a taco since it’s in the title… The chips are good, the pork was flavorful, ingredients appeared fresh. The parking here is wretched. There is literally seating for a total of 11 people in here. And flies(and gnats) abound. I don’t know how they keep them off the food, so I just assume that they don’t…

Tasty build your own tacos. I think they are a bit on the expensive side, but will try again. The steak tacos are delicious.

A Hole in the Wall«Big Brand» good taco. So the place isn’t much to look at walking in, but that has nothing to do with the tacos. LOCATION&AMBIANCE(Rating 2) I expected it to be a bit nicer as some of the other locations have more space and are built out a little nicer. The only enjoyable place to eat is outside as there is allot of outdoor seating for multiple fast food restaurants there. If it’s nice out, you’re in luck. SERVICE(Rating 3) I feel a little guilty giving them a 3 on service, but they should have known that the grilled fish taco would take a while.(I didn’t). They finished my steak taco, I paid for it and waited and waited for them to finish the grilled fish taco. It took a while so the steak taco was not as warm as I’d like to have had it.(Mental note taken for next time). STEAKTACO(Rating 4) You get to have it your way and there’s a ton of stuff to choose from including guacamole without an extra charge which I really liked. The steak tastes great as it seemed to be marinated well and had just the right amount of «zing» for the taste buds. GRILLEDFISHTACO(Rating 3.5) I actually thought this was going to be something special as it was grilled to order(in a pan. does that even count as grilled?) and took a very long time. My steak taco was luke warm by the time this was finished. The fish tasted and smelled a bit fishy, but overall the flavor was pretty good. It was a bit overcooked for me and was dusted in a red spice that really didn’t give it much flavor IMO.

I love me some Chronic Tacos! It sure beats Chipotle, their al pastor is just too good! The only thing that keeps me from giving them 5 stars is that they are stingy with the meat, both in the burritos and tacos making it a bit pricey for what you get. I love their salsas and toppings, I usually get them all and it is always fresh and tasty. Service is nice and they often have specials and coupons to offset the price a bit. I like the vibe of the place, the location is clean and well kept and not too full. Great lunch in the area!

I just finished watching the movie Straight Outta Compton but I didn’t review Chronic tacos. That is a great reminder. What up Dre? I got something to say! Just like Dr. Dre album is The Chronic these tacos are pretty darn good. The best description of this place is not like Chipotle but more like San Diego style Mexican food. If some surfer dudes feeling the beach vibes opened a shop serving Mexican food they would create Chronic Tacos. I ordered the burrito with chicken and beans. You can pick what ever items you want inside of your taco or burrito. I noticed most people ordered either burritos or quesadilla. The tacos looked good but the bigger items seem like a better value. The fish tacos looks tasty. Nothing fancy here just some decently priced munchies. Yes I went there. Munchies. I recommend giving thus place a try. Snoochi boochies!

Came here last weekend with a couple of friends to find something quick, delicious, and that wouldn’t break the bank. Unilocalers, check-in using your app and you get some free chips and salsa! I ordered the chicken burrito. Fajitas were an extra dollar(seriously…). My only complaint is that one of the guys behind the counter was giving me a creepy vibe. I was wearing a Van Halen shirt with black strings that hang off the shirt. He said«I like your shirt» while looking me up and down. I said thank you very politely. Then he responds with«Do you know who Van Halen is?» or something to that effect. Dude… everyone knows who that is. I wouldn’t be wearing the shirt just because it looks cool(although it does). Since I live kind of far from here I probably won’t be back. You can get a Taco Tuesday literally anywhere in Orange County and they’re all the same. Just without a side of creep.
