I have been to Croutons a few times for lunch and I truly can’t say anything bad about it. I have gotten the Chicken pesto Panini and the Cesar Salad. Both items I have greatly enjoyed. Very busy during lunch time but you can’t beat it. I would say one of my favorites in Newport/Irvine for a quick bite to eat.

my tuna sandwich was very dry. I couldn’t even finish it. The salad was ok.

Very surprised by all the reviews saying that the food tastes great. I wasn’t impressed. I’ve only been once but the chicken«breast» pesto sandwich was enough for me to not return. There was NOT a chicken breast on the sandwich. It was very bland sliced lunchmeat type chicken breast. I have coworkers that eat here fairly often and say that other items on the menu are good but I’m just not willing to give it another shot.

Great place for a quick lunch. I’ve been here about a dozen times and the salad and soup has always been on point. I get the Pear and Blue Cheese salad w/chicken and it’s always fresh. Their Chicken and Wild Rice soup — excellent! I have yet to try anything else because I enjoy my usual order too much! Oh — don’t forget to try the .50 cent bite size brownies. A nice little finish to a healthy salad! During the week it’s pretty busy for lunch, I recommend getting there early.

Delicious!!! I got the grilled cheese and I really enjoyed it. I got it to go. I wouldn’t recommend it as the cheese wasn’t as warm. My fault but next time I will eat it at the restaurant

I got the chopped salad. The first time I ordered it I changed the dressing to the house balsamic and it was really great. The second time I got it, I just got the dressing that comes with the order on the menu and it was SO bland. I asked for it tossed and I wasn’t even sure if there was dressing on it. My second experience turned me off from it, probably won’t go back. It’s a pretty steep price for a small bland salad anyway

I’ve never been dissatisfied when I’ve come here. Service is fast and efficient and accurate. My coworker and I come and get their chicken and wild rice soup every time its cold because we love it so much. Their salads are excellent and they will customize if you request. A little on the pricy side, but I expect that for fresh salad places.

A lot of ambiance and not much on food. Which goes against the idea of serving food. The staff is pretty nice, and things seemed clean and pleasant. Plenty of stuff on the menu. But when they actually made my salad, it was pretty disappointing. My buffalo chicken salad was more of a bowl of lettuce that was waved in the general direction of some chicken. Something you’d get on an airplane. Even the meat that made it in there was ornamental at best. Not much buffalo to it. Credit for being a pleasant place to sit and do lunch, but the lunch part left much to be desired.

I’ve been here a lot. It’s down the street from my work and perfect meeting spot for my friend who also works nearby. One star for being exceptionally clean, another for the wide selection of salads and sandwiches. However, the last time I got a bbq chicken salad, half of my salad was wilted and spoiled the whole meal for me. I was too busy picking out wilted, rotten lettuce from each fork full. Very unappealing and because of this I refuse to eat here since. My friend still dines here when we meet up and would like this today for her birthday lunch. It will be my first meal here since the unforgettable rotten salad incident. Wish me luck. There are better options for salads and sandwiches for the money you would spend here.

Really good sandwiches salads you name it! All ingredients are FRESH and TASTY I’ve been a fan now for 3 years and every time I’m in the area I make a stop here at croutons to get my favorites! Great and fast service ! As busy as they are they are very organized and make a point to make sure you get your complete order ! In fact just on today’s visit they chased me out the door because I was missing a sandwich I always call to place an order because it gets busy and there’s a separate line for phone orders. My boyfriend that works in the area is now a super fan too hehe My faves : Mandarin chicken salad Margherita chicken panini Tuna albacore flatini Tomato basil soup

This place is so overpriced! I’ve been here 3 times already and the last trip left a little dent in my wallet. I was in the mood for a grilled cheese and tomato soup so I went for the applewood cheese sandwich and the tomato basil soup. The cashier asked if I wanted the to make it a combo. I said yes. The menu ended up to be a little more than $ 12 for half of a sandwich and a small cup of soup… What? I looked the receipt the sandwich was also $ 8 and some change and the soup was $ 1.50… $ 8 for half of a sandwich? Really? no. Just NO. It should’ve been a full sandwich. I won’t be back…

Simple straight forward menu — soup, salad, or sandwich. They accept phone orders(which is much better than coming here and ordering since the lines get really long around noon). They have a variety of choices in the 3 categories so it’s a good option in case you have a business meeting or have picky eaters. The only downfall is the location, as it is located in McArthur Square and parking to visitor ratio is off. Ample seating outside. Services and food is A-OK.

Better than Panera, Croutons is a healthy alternative meal that caters to the busy office buildings around the area. I was looking for a quick healthy meal and I’m so glad I went chose Croutons. They have a great«Choose 2, Combo Anything Menu» where you can choose a salad, soup or salad. They have many fresh salads on the menu, I chose the pear and blue cheese and asked for dressing on the side. So yummy and fresh! I also tried the popular chicken&wild rice soup. The soup was creamy with tiny chunks of chicken and the flavors were great. I’ll have to try the tomato basil soup next time! This plaza does get quite busy around lunch time as there are many corporate offices in the vicinity but they are quick to serve. I believe you can place your order online too!

If you are looking for a healthy alternative for lunch I highly recommend Croutons. They offer fresh salads homemade sandwiches and soups too. I don’t come here often due to the fact my colleague keeps telling me she is «not a rabbit» so for her sake we venture to the unhealthy options. But I do enjoy visiting Croutons. Their prices are a bit high but the quality is there!

For lunch, I ordered the Chopped Salad. It came with romaine lettuce, cubed chicken, salami, shredded mozzarella, garbanzo beans, tomatoes, croutons with a mustard vinaigrette. Overall, the salad was just okay. The romaine seemed fresh, the chicken was a bit dry, the salami added a nice touch. The salad consisted mostly of lettuce. The salad overall lacked ummmmph. It was kind of blah/bland which I am not surprised because a chain restaurant cannot go beyond neutral tasting to cater to the masses. The salad tasted like it was created to cater to the masses. No wow factor.

Pretty mediocre salads… I was finding a new place to eat salads and decided to try this place out for lunch. I was expecting salads like Tender Greens, Urban Plates, etc. but the salads here are pretty mediocre compared to them. Pretty generic salads nothing spectacular. Don’t get me wrong… they taste good. But if I’m opting for a salad instead of something else like a burger for lunch it better be freaking delicious. I ordered the BBQ chicken salad because so many people were raving about it but it was ehhh. Something that you can find at the supermarket kind of quality. Lettuce, chicken, some crunchy stuff, and bbq ranch dressing. I LOVE the bbq chicken salad at Tender Green and Urban Plates so maybe I’m expecting too much. If you’re looking for something REALLY simple than maybe this place is it. You get what you get.

This place can get pretty crowded during weekday lunch, and parking can be a hassle sometimes to find, but if you park far enough there usually is a spot or so. There was a line to get the food, but it went by a lot faster than I thought it would, and they make the salads in a reasonable amount of time. I had the Mandarin Chicken Salad, and it tasted just like what you’d expect one to taste like. There was nothing all that special to the salad, it was very straightforward and there wasn’t any part that stood out or was memorable. It kind of just tasted like a salad you could get at a fast food place. The food wasn’t bad though, it was still edible and relatively enjoyable, just not all that noteworthy or special.
