They have pretty good legit Taiwanese food here. It wasn’t the best that I’ve ever eaten, but they had some of the better foods that I’ve eaten in a while outside of Taiwan. It didn’t take too long for our food to be brought out once we’ve ordered. I ordered 3 of my favorite items from their menu, the pork chop rice, pig ears, and oyster omelette. *Pork chop rice* It was tasty and juicy. One of the better pork chops that I’ve eaten in a while. It came with some broccoli and cabbage. I would get this again! *Pig ears* I loved eating this appetizer while growing up and this is the way that I like it prepared with green onions only. I don’t like the super oily and spicy versions. *Oyster omelette* It had plenty of oysters and tasted pretty good. However they used very little egg and a lot of potato starch. I would probably order something else next time. My friends had their beef noodle soup and said that the beef wasn’t very good. It tasted old and tough. The service was really quick and efficient. They took care of our bill and cleared our tables really quickly once we were done eating. Overall, I liked it. I would definitely come back to try their other menu items.

Great, friendly service, but the food really missed the mark. My husband and I went to our eye doc in Chino Hills a few weeks ago and discovered that Good Time Café had closed! We reminisced about the great Taiwanese food at Good Time Café — our regular order: Popcorn Chicken, Broccoli Beef, Fried Rice… the occasional Three Cups Chicken. I’d grown up eating at their Rowland Heights location. This past week, unable to get Taiwanese food off the mind, I called an order in to Han — Popcorn Chicken, Three Cups Chicken, and Beef Chow Fun. Maybe the extreme departure from our regular items was the mistake(I mean… chow fun? Who do I think I am?). The food was underwhelming. Our total was a touch over $ 31 — but the food was not worth it. The Popcorn Chicken was okay — but exactly the serving size and quality I’d get at Lollicup. The Chow Fun was the best item of the three, no real complaints there. The Three Cups Chicken was the problem: overly salty, an almost viscous sauce, and somehow… sticky…I wasn’t a fan. The way they cut up the chicken legs left many sharp, protruding bone shards — we had to be exceptionally careful while eating. I may come back for Popcorn Chicken or Fried Rice? I can’t say yet. The place is near work and on my way home. It certainly won’t be soon — I’m in no rush to experience this again.

My dad and I stumbled across this restaurant when we were out and about and I gotta say, we were greeted by friendly people, the food was amazing and the prices were reasonable. I had the braised beef soup and im picky about that since its one of my favourite soups; let me tell you, it was the best braised beef soup i have ever had! Even better than din tai fung! My dad got kung pao chicken and normally im not a fan of kung pao, but this was the best we have ever had! So, great food, great service. Please if you’re in Irvine or visiting, please try this place!

note to self. do not order their 大腸麵線 — too watery, watered down。蝦仁煎用茼蒿做底… = =” this is my 2nd time here. Service is good and pay attention to details, but food and taste is very different from almost 2 years ago.

Horrendous service. Came here with my 2 year old for lunch after going to the near-by Pretend City. Placed our order. Patiently waited for 30 minutes. Waiter never once checked on us, even though they kept passing our table on their way to service other tables. My two year old kept telling me, «mommy, I’m hungry», «mommy, I want food». When I finally stopped one of the waiters in their tracks and asked them to check on the status of our order, they took a good 5 – 10 minutes to get back to me. Only to tell me that the kitchen never received my order. They had the nerve then to ask me to wait or to come and take it «to-go». Oh, and I don’t know how authentically Taiwanese this place can be when the people who work there are clearly NOT Taiwanese. DONOTCOMEHERE.

I had the pork chop rice today for lunch at hans and it was delicious. My family also ordered a stinky tofu side dish which was definitely worth. You definitely get what you pay for because I was full from the dish. I got pictures of the pork chop rice and the popcorn chicken rice.

Long wait at Fukada… what else is there to eat nearby… ok Han it is(this must be a very common mental exercise that people eating at this restaurant go through) I ordered the spicy intestine and stinky tofu pot $ 12…the stinky tofu was good, large pieces of fatty intestine, comes with rice…4 stars My husband ordered 2 items. He kept shaking his head because he thought the items were sub-par. Pork chops $ 7, two large slabs of lightly marinated chops… tasted ok to me…3 stars Pot stickers, $ 7, this is where my husband said it was the worst pot stickers ever… the filling was loose and watery probably because of high vegetable to ground meat ratio… it tasted like boiled dumplings, with its soggy and oily shell, rather than pan fried… nothing to justify the extremely long wait(over 20 minutes) it took to get to the table…1 star My dad ordered their beef noodle bowl. He said noodle is 5 out of 10… in flavor, quality of meat and texture of noodles…2 stars (Written by husband)

We came in on a Wednesday night. We were rather surprised to see that there were not a lot of guests at around 6pm. The food here is actually really good. I especially recommend the pork chop rice, braised beef noodle, three cup chicken, and the oyster omlete. We have tried these twice now. We’ve been so happy about the food both times. So just give up lining up for Fukada next door and come here to enjoy some great food. You wont regret it.

I hate giving out one stars, especially for reasons like this. But this has by far been the worst customer service I’ve ever seen/experienced in a restaurant. I’ve been here several times, and the food is actually pretty decent. If I were to rate based solely on the food, I would give it four stars. I’ve tried the Three Cup Chicken, Squash, and Eggplant with Basil, all which are solid dishes and delicious. However, the most recent experience was simply unacceptable. My mother wanted to switch the table due to the fact that it was close to the front door and it was rather cold. She wanted to switch seats, but a party of 8 was being seated, so the waiter there with glasses said that she could not take it. She waited until everyone was already seated, so no one else was waiting, to make the switch. When she asked, the waiter started yelling at her, throwing the dishes down, and making a huge ruckus. The other waitresses there defended the waiter, telling us if we were not satisfied to go somewhere else. So we did, and we had a much happier experience there. If you’re looking for decent food, I would say that the food here is not bad. The cooks are doing a great job in the back cooking up good Taiwanese/Chinese food, but the waiters/waitresses in the front definitely need some work in terms of customer service. Unfortunately, this means that my family and I won’t be back again.

Our family love this hidden gem. It shares the same parking lot as Fukada Japanese restaurant near Spectrum. Menu offers a wide selections of yummy Taiwanese and Cantonese dishes. Prices are reasonable, portion sizes are generous, and service are friendly. We recommend Honey chicken rice, Grilled pork chop rice, Pig hock noodle, Stir-fry lamb with green onion, and Assorted seafood vegetable soup. Please check it out next time when you go shopping at Spectrum, or you get hungry waiting at Fukada’s long line. You will be glad you find this gem too. :-)

This is a nice clean place to get Taiwanese food. Its not that busy and its location is in a rather back-end(but new and clean) stripmall on the other side of the 405. So its not so crowded like A&J. The tofu was amazing(my Taiwanese wife said anyway) and the popcorn chicken rice was delicious. Very tasty and not too oily. The staff were very nice as well. We will be back next time for the Taiwan style beef noodle!

i feel like the majority of people who dine here are taiwanese craving for a homestyle taiwanese dish, or people who don’t want to wait. the wait at fukada was 30+ mins when we went. aint nobody got time for that. i hope this place stays in business. i was craving some beef noodle soup and also found the line at fukada too long to wait. we got seated right away and after a few mins of deciding what to order, we placed it and got everything within 10 mins. we ordered the scallion pancakes, 2x beef noodle soup, stinky tofu, spicy wonton and pork chop rice. everything was extremely tasty. the sauce that came with the pancakes was really addicting. the broth of the beef noodle soup was rich in flavor and the spicy wonton went quick, everyone wanted to get a piece. the funniest thing is that… i ordered a plate of stinky tofu and keep in mind, all my coworkers had never had it before. so when it came, they gave me the face of disgust, some of them couldn’t finish it and others tried to be polite and ate it but did not ask for second. hahaha… i guess stinky tofu is an acquired taste. well, at least it means more for me. the people working there are friendly and helpful as well. i’d come back if i’m in the area.

Good taiwanese food here. I really enjoy their beef noodle soup and their young chau fried rice. If u want spicy shezhuan dishes they use that weird tasting spicy oil in their hot pots. Not packed for lunch or dinner so you wont have to wait.

I came here for lunch last week with my aunt who comes here all the time. It’s a good lunch spot, with a good range of Taiwanese dishes, depending on what tickles your fancy. I normally don’t order fried rice. Ever. My aunt ordered it anyway telling me this was different. And it was. Their house specialty contains large pieces of shrimp and sausage similar to a kielbasa. It’s definitely not the red sausage which has a sweetness to it. Not too greasy and the rice was still white in color and not burned. I had to order the stinky tofu. In my quest to find a place that can make it as good as they do on the streets of Taipei, this comes up short. The stink was too light and I’m not a big fan of large chunks of tofu that require more than 2 bites. We also ordered the oyster pancake. I was never a fan of this dish(primarily because of the mochi-like pancake base), but compared to others I’ve had, it was lacking. Not enough vegetables and the sauce lacked the sweetness that I’ve grown accustomed to. The Taiwanese beef roll was so so as well. The ingredients went well flavor wise but hoisin sauce was heavy handed, masking the beef and just about everything else. There are a few items I have yet to try but I’m definitely intrigued enough to come back for more.

Decided to come here after seeing the waitlist at Fukada. Service is good. We ordered watermelon juice, popcorn chicken, oyster omelet, minced pork rice, and spicy hot pot with pork. My favorite was the minced pork rice. Flavors were on point & soy sauce egg was not bland. We got medium spicy for popcorn chicken, but it wasn’t spicy at all. The oyster omelet was too gooey for me. There was too much flour. Spicy hot pot has the tongue numbing pepper. I am not a fan of this type of spiciness. I would come back for the minced pork.

As much as I love Taiwanese cuisine, I felt the experience at Han was confusing and unsatisfying. When I first walked in, I noticed the chinese décor, as well as the chinese speaking staff. I could tell from the way they spoke mandarin that they were not Taiwanese, but that’s ok, I still wanted to give it a chance since of course not all Taiwanese restaurants can hire only Taiwanese staff, right? Then I spent quite a few minutes looking at the menu because it was so eclectic. They had menu items such as stinky tofu and oyster pancake, but then also random dishes, specials with«salads»(and you never ever want to order a salad from a Chinese restaurant), and plated dishes such as tofu, and stir-fried vegetables. There were also forms of noodle soups available such as beef noodle soup, and also clay pots. I wasn’t sure what the restaurant truly specialized in, so I ordered a variety of dishes to try. We tried a meat ball noodle soup, and the flavor was wayyyyy off. Way too much vinegar, a weird type of noodle, and it just was not good. We also tried the spicy pot that is a Chinese dish that goes well with rice and usually comes with tofu, vegetables, intestine, pork blood and a variety of ingredients. The pot had a lot of intestine, and not a lot of the other ingredients so although we ate a little bit of it, it got overwhelming very quickly. Then we also got an appetizer dish that is a spicy mix of tofu, seaweed, and pork ears. This had a real spicy kick, and was good, but not sure how Taiwanese this tasted. Nothing we ordered was magnificent or memorable. With so many other restaurant choices in Irvine, I’ll likely not be back. My best advice to Han is to figure out what their«specialties» truly are, and focus on finding their identity as a restaurant.

I’ll be the first to say that I am ignorant to what exactly Taiwanese food is. To me, when I see fried rice and dumplings and salt & pepper pork chop on the menu, I just think I’m eating«Chinese» food. I do know that there are regional differences in Chinese food but I still have yet to truly grasp the different types of Chinese cuisine. I just know that I love all of it! Han is no exception. The restaurant is clean and modern and the service is fast. I’ve tried the won ton noodle soup and the Yang Chou fried rice — both were delicious and tasted freshly homemade. As I looked at the other diners around me, all of their dishes looked so appetizing. I can’t wait to come back! I got here at 11:30 am and by noon, the whole restaurant was packed. So arrive accordingly or get take-out. Except with take-out, I don’t think you get the complimentary egg drop soup! Prices run typical of $ 7-$ 10 an entrée(depending on what it is). I didn’t see any lunch combos but they did have a board with daily specials. Parking may be tight(especially with Fukada next door) but there is always parking available.

I’ve never eaten at the restaurant but have ordered for take out a few times. The food was always consistently tasty and large portion! I like that none of the dishes we ordered were too greasy or salty which is really rare for a Taiwanese/Asian restaurant! The servers were always nice when they take our orders. They always tell us ahead of time when they’re busy and the expected pick up or wait time would be a little longer than normal.

So-so food at so-so prices, with a few of their items leaning towards the pricier side for being in Irvine. I do like the oyster omelet because the sauce is pretty close to the ones from Taiwan. One thing that I found amusing is the amount of silly misspellings or mistranslations you’ll find here, within 5 minutes even: «nooddles» instead of noodles, watermelon«juicy» instead of juice, and don’t forget about throwing«napins» in the bathroom. Guess someone forgot to do spell check before massively printing all the Chinglish menus. Woops!
