Irvine Marriott

So the lobby has been renovated which looks great. The rooms are still old outdated Marriott rooms with lots of battle scars. When I checked in today the clerk was nice and recognized my status. She said you have great status with Marriott so if you would like to upgrade to concierge status you can do that for $ 20 extra. I said hmm I just came from a different Marriott from last night about 3 miles away and they upgraded me for free— the last three visits I stayed there. She said sorry not here. Ok so tell me why I would stay here again over the other Marriott with a better location who actually appreciates my status. Not again at this Marriott…

3^rd time that I’m staying here now and could with certainty say that this hotel knows what it’s doing. Service is amazing and the beds are very comfortable. Sunset the pool and gym had been renovated my experience has only gotten better and better. Life music and everything is well taken care of.

Hotel was awesome, trendy up to date décor. Give it a try. We hit the bar at about 11:00pm. «Alejandro» the bar tender was too busy chit chatting at the other end of the bar not doing his service job of serving patrons… This guy even sucked down a glass of wine, in front of us without a glance of his customers, can he drink on the job? there were only 8 people at the bar! Really? Felix came to the rescue and made our night! Thank you. I expressed our opinion of Alejandro to the Supervisor and she apologized for his failure. Thank you Supervisor! My faith in Marriot stands strong!!! Just kick your boy in the ass and wake him up. JC

Friendly staff, not overly long lines at check-​in. But the reason for my review is their great lost and found service. I forgot my ipod in the room and drove back north. I realized a day later, called their loss prevention office, and the ipod was in an overnight box to me within an hour. I received my ipod the next day in a box that was highly insulated to prevent damage to the equipment. Great work.

I stayed here at the Irvine Marriott for business and what a nice place. The staff was incredibly professional and had wonderful personalities. How can you not love a place that supports Children’s Hospital of Orange County and delivers dessert to your room in a gift bag… I mean really!!! Complete with a full Starbucks in the lobby and s decent restaurant, this place is a great choice for business or pleasure.
Please, please, please get a larger and better room service menu!!!

The place is okay, nothing really spectacular and special. The lobby is really nice, cool and cozy though. It has a futuristic and modern interior design. The staff were nice and friendly too. My family stayed in a room with two beds for a night there and it seemed to be okay. Everything was well kept and organized. It’s pretty accessible to other go-​to places as well. However, we did find that the price for the room we had was not that reasonable since there’s really nothing much to it aside from the basic stuff (i.e. tv, ac, fridge, etc)

Very disgusted and disturbed to find black mold (or dirt — doubtful) on my ceiling in room 525 at the Marriott in Irvine CA. Calls into question on how clean the room is (bathrooms) if they let this room be sold. Will never stay here again.

Just had a night cap with my friend this past Sunday night and wasn’t too happy with the rude service we had received. I often stay at the Marriott as I never had any issues till this past Sunday. The bartender was extremely rude in taking our order and was taking forever making our cocktails. For the prices they charged, should had went to Pelican instead.

Great rooms for conferences. Parking is super expensive. Might as well valet! Everything is kept up really nice & clean. Rooms to stay in are nice & comfy.

We are extremely impressed ! To the point that I don’t think I could possibly explain this perfect service ! When I drove up to find out where to park Avery Allen not only told me where to park he shuttle me to a spot then walked us to check in, then Lapita at check in was very helpful ! Here’s what’s mind blowing it was me and my wife’s 22 year anniversary of marriage we didn’t ask for any special package ! Avery Allen knew it was are anniversary while we were talking we mentioned it cause he asked us what reasons we were joining Marriott for the evening ! Some how this gentleman was able to sneak up champagne ! And chocolate covered strawberries to the room before we got up the elevator to the room ! Wow I don’t know how he did that amazing ! Avery Allen you are amazing thank you very much ! Ok now for the rest of amenities the room key gives u access in and out of parking lot the lobby is amazingly beautiful the pool has some amazing characteristics from large chairs to foosball table they have a pool table in lobby ! Rooms are excellent bed is super comfortable ! Restaurant and bar amazing ! Food was so delicious ! Are Waitress was so nice she gave us a dessert on the house when she asked us what we are doing for the day we mentioned are anniversary ! This is mind blowing service be honest I don’t want to leave I’m thinking I should move in lol Avery Allen you are exceptional thank you Marriott for being exceptional I’ve never in my lifetime had an experience that was perfection down the line in every aspect not to mention they’ve got a Starbucks which my wife loves! Most hotels you have to pay for a special anniversary package here we didn’t and didn’t ask for it we still got it thanks you for the hospitality we will come back!!!

The service was great. The gold area is staffed with very warm people. Every time I walk in they greet warmly and they are extremely helpful.
There were some very very minor issues with luggage & check in.
The room was sparkling clean every day.
There is always at least 5 – 10 people in line for the Starbucks so I never stopped there.
The young professionals in the lounge are super friendly. I think they are just trying to be nice and bored from traveling alone so I try to be kind and talk to them even though I am not exactly friendly in the morning.
One other thing I have to mention. I can smell the horrible soap they have in this hotel on people 10 feet away. It is very synthetic musk. In my opinion, informed people are moving away from using items with chemical fragrances since they are very toxic.
It can’t be healthy to use. Other Marriott locations use Aveda which is fantastic and essential oil based scents.

Most ridiculous hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Not sure if this applies to all California hotels but I am APPALLED at how much they rip you off here.
Pricing — way WAY over priced. They charge you $ 22 TO PARK. What the actual f. In addition, they also charge you $ 10 FOR INTERNET. Again, what the actual f. Also no complimentary anything. Not internet, not breakfast, NOTHING. What in gods name am I paying $ 22 to park for?
Atmosphere — if you stay in the lower level floors you WILL hear noise from the pool. Guaranteed.
Customer Service — had to go down to the front desk TWICE because the key wouldnt work, and the handle was BROKEN. Yet instead of coming up here to examine, they offered to send up a technician to fix it. I dont have time to wait for someone to fix the door while they are charging me to park! (0 – 30 mins is free) Time is ticking! In the end I had to ask for a new room because that was NOT okay
Interior Design — sure it looks nice but its only to lure you into the money sucking trap that they run
If there are any other hotel choices, AVOID THIS ONE. Especially if you dont wanna spend about $ 200 a night in total with nothing complimentary. If i could give this — stars, I would.

This score is for hotels for business travelers. Over the course of a year and a half my boyfriend and I stayed in four of the hotels in this area for business. We stayed at: Hilton at John Wayne, Irvine Marriott, Hyatt Regency Newport Beach, and Westin Costa Mesa.
We stayed at the Marriott for about three months. It was probably our #2 or #3.
Pros:
Our favorite part was the lounge that was on the executive level floor (or a name something like that) of the hotel. Each morning there was free breakfast for rewards members. The breakfast included bacon, eggs, oatmeal, toast, and more. It was self serve. In the evenings they had appetizers but honestly it almost always was substantial enough for dinner. They had things like chicken skewers, different pastas, cheese and other snacks. It was also self serve. Later in the evening they had several desserts and an honor bar with wine. They also had water in the rooms and free wifi for rewards members.
The rooms were plenty big, and the beds were nice. The rooms at the Westin were bigger and maybe more updated but it was not a huge difference. The parking lot was about a hundred yards from the entrance.
Cons:
The hotel is a little dated. Nothing extreme but not as updated as the Westin. It is near the highway but not directly on an exit so this can add to your commute. It is about 5 minutes from the airport. Parking is not included.

Fabulous Marriott, stunningly beautiful lobby and a nice staff. The rooms are great, clean, have everything a business traveler needs and the beds are comfortable. They also have a great fitness center with plenty of cardio and weight equipment.
Their restaurant Floe is great, lots of small plates, appetizers, and other dishes. I don’t typically eat in hotels well not at the Courtyard bistros but I really enjoyed this restaurant and it has a fun, trendy yet relaxing vibe about it.
The concierge level here is also fantastic, I was at the Fullerton Marriott the night before who’s lounge was extremely small, dark and didn’t have too many snacks in the evening. But the Irvine lounge is spacious, the man working last week was very polite, they had several appetizers, you really could have actual dinner here if you wanted and they have lots of waters, sodas and other beverages.
I hope my work brings me to the Irvine area again soon as I really enjoyed my time here! I did notice a lot of people complained about the parking fee. Marriott is very clear on both their app and website that there’s a parking fee when you make your reservation and I feel most people should know that a Marriott in the middle of Orange County would have a parking fee!

This is the second time I have visited the Irvine Marriott and neither time did I actually stay at the hotel.
The first visit was for a friends wedding after party since the Wedding Party was staying here. We utilized the bar and pool area on the first floor near the lobby. The bar tenders were extremely friendly and the libations were very tasty. The pool area was very well maintained as well.
The second time was for Mark Yuziaks adult hypnotist show which was in the meeting rooms. The area around the meeting rooms were well lit and very clean. The meeting rooms are very spacious and well maintained.
Both times the staff members we encountered were super friendly and joked around with us.
The reason for three stars is the parking which is pricy and the structure in the rear of the hotel was a giant cluster f*** as there were quite a few people leaving. It took us over 30 minutes to exit the structure.
I am sure I will visit again and perhaps next time I’ll actually stay!

I’ve stayed here many times. They have very friendly helpful staff, but some really odd renovation choices that put form before function. The corner suites are huge, but the desks are too small to work on. The cool looking breakfast /​bar area has chairs that are far too low for you to be able to use the table.
The hotel also doesn’t really have traditional room service. They have deep fried quick bites and sandwiches, even though you would never guess this from the room service menu. The «Vietnamese Seafood Dim Sum» would be more accurately named «Deep Fried previously frozen Seafood snack», The food is delivered in a bag with takeout containers and plastic utensils. Of the things I have tried on the menu, the fish tacos are the only item I liked.
There is no room service coffee after the onsite Starbucks shop closes. Seriously guys, I stay at a full service Marriott when I expect to be working late and want room service that delivers both real food and endless large pots of coffee. Without the food I might as well stay at the Marriott Courtyard by the Orange County airport and save some money.
In most regards this is a standard Marriott Full Service property, right down to the red tear glass lamps. But the lack of real room service or ability to brew coffee when the Starbucks shop is closed makes this a less than ideal choice for me.

An excellent Marriott. We came to OC last weekend for a two day vacation from LA. As someone who has stayed in hotels all over the world, the Irvine Marriott was outstanding. Very modern, fun and lots to do both in the hotel and in the area.
This is Irvine and not a resort. You come here, and to any hotel in Irvine, so that you can sleep, relax and then get out to do something. That said, the pool is very nice though most people will usually opt for the beach when in the area.

Ambulated into the Marriott for the Starbucks located inside (so loving the Flat White Coffee Concoction — no it’s not Viennese Mélange but pretty close). The Staff was welcoming from the Valet Attendant upon arrival (wearing his vermillion/​nightshade outfit complete with hat and Cheshire cat smile).
Walking through the main lobby it was a challenge to keep focused traveling directly to Starbucks as the marital play of variegated light onto the renovated lounge demanded attention, as if screaming in unison «try me.»
So we followed the white brick road which illuminated the way to the lounge (Starbucks was not open for a caffeine infusion) but we were directed by Martin (our Host) to trendy white booth in the lounge that offered a great system called Kallpod. Basically I pressed a button and seconds later a table got cleaned or a check was presented (yes they had tech!).
The location of our booth offered «more than a peak» view of Noah Needleman on his electric guitar, his vocals were haunting as my coffee cup (Home Brewed Marriott Carafe) was suspended in air and below its’ companion Churro Bread Pudding with its three dipping sauces of honey, chocolate syrup, and a delightful caramel. In awe we listened to Noah’s rendition of Bono’s «All I want is You.» After this amazing set a quick glance round led way to knowing grins and smiling faces of Irvine suited professionals.
Lounge was packed — who knew it was a sleepy Thursday in a Airport/​Business area of Irvine. I took a few humble photos of the lounge, Noah and the entry (recently renovated for 5 million dollars) and vowed to return, felt like a VIP in the house instead of a lowly patron disguised in cycling gear (Hi Guys remember me… Gotcha!) I am definitely coming back (Like I escaped my book cave for this one).

Stayed here on a business trip. Hotel conveniently located next to our office and airport.
Staff was friendly; check-​in was easy-​breezy. Room was OK. I wasn’t impressed — seemed dated; didn’t match the look/​feel of the hotel, especially after walking through the lobby ‚
Convenient that a Starbucks was located inside. Across the hotel is Specialties.
I had an opportunity to eat breakfast and dinner at the restaurant. Mediocre.
Their patio with fire pits attracts the locals to hang out on a Thursday night. It’s Irvine — not much to do and everyone turns in early.

This hotel was conveniently located close to the airport as well as my client site, so I didn’t have to worry much about the SoCal traffic situation. This hotel would get a 3 stars for me, but I’ve added +1 for the convenience.
It was overall a decent stay– nothing special. We had breakfast upstairs, which was also just okay. I didn’t spend much time in the hotel since I was in the area for a business trip, but there isn’t much to do in the area anyway.
Would I come back? Only for business purposes if I have to. Otherwise, I probably would not.
