I was playing basketball with my son and twisted my back the wrong way. Suddenly, I could hardly stand up. I suffered with intense pain for a couple of days, but I could hardly stand up straight. I had heard about Jaseng a few years ago via Brian Lee, who, at the time, had recently moved to the U.S. from Korea to help set up the Jaseng Center. Brian was always very passionate about what the Jaseng Center had to offer, and told me about the intense training that the doctors go through in Korea. After speaking to Brian about this, I had told myself I would give this a try if I ever had need. Well, this injury definitely provided me the opportunity. I went to the Irvine location with a fair amount of skepticism. I was asked to rate my pain on a scale of 1 — 10(10 being worst). I rated my pain an 8. The doctor took me into her office and asked for a history of my injury and did a physical assessment. She determined the problem was a back spasm. She then took me into a treatment room and laid me on a massage table face down and hooked up an electrical device to my back in order to relax me. This device actually felt quite good(like a massage). She then returned after 10 minutes, and proceeded to insert the acupuncturist needles. I’m not sure how many she inserted(I think it was 6 — 8), I thought there would be more, but was OK with it being fewer since I have a pretty strong fear of needles. I didn’t really feel the needles, as she had a way to physically distract you from feeling it by tapping on your back as she inserted the needles. She left the needles in my back for another 10 minutes. She returned to the room and turned me on my side and inserted a needle or 2 for a few moments. She then turned me on my back and proceeded to press hard on my stomach(I’m not sure if she used a needle on my stomach or not). This stomach portion of the treatment was the most uncomfortable portion of the visit, but it was also the last portion of the visit. When she was done, I stood up and much to my surprise I felt pain relief. I figured it would be temporary pain relief, but the pain stayed away. As of today, it has been 5 days since my treatment and I would give the pain rating a 1 or 2(recall that I started out with pain that was an 8). I’m going back in today for a follow up, though I don’t think I need it, but I had already set up a follow up visit. All I can say at this point is that I am a believer in Jaseng and in acupuncture. I would not hesitate to send a friend or family member to Jaseng for pain relief.

I only visit here one time, last week, and want to write review because it’s so awesome. I used to visit these oriental/asian hospital several times when I was living in S. Korea since I felt some pain at my shoulder and neck due to long-time keyboard typing as software engineer. Once I came to US, I’ve been visiting several massage shop since then to relieve my pain but it did not help at all. Most of therapist at massage shop here in OC and Irvine does not even know what’s body’s bone, muscle, and nerve is going to work. It’s not even close than massage in S. Korea and far away from those Thai/East Asia massage therapist. So basically I felt like I’m throwing my money for nothing, but all my pain and uncomfortable at neck and shoulder is gone now just after visiting here last week. Two doctors here are even awesome than any other doctor I’ve seen in S.Korea. I had desire of not writing this review so that I can go there whenever I want to go without waiting a long time due to other patients, but it’s soooo awesome and you should definitely try as well if you have similar issue and didn’t get any progress with massage. They also take Kaiser HMO for some of treatment, not everything like acupuncture though. You should call them and ask if they are going to accept your medical insurance. Even without the insurance, they have reasonable package for those cash payer. Don’t throw your money at massage therapist who don’t know anything about human body!!! One time treatment here was x 20 better than visiting massage shop!!! Now I feel less pain during work, drive, and sleep from my neck and shoulder and so happy with it. I’ll definitely visit here several times more with having physical exercise that doctor suggested me to do.

Most recommendable acupuncture clinic ever I have. Actually this center is originated from Korea and its reputation is definitely wonderful. The doctor is so fluent in English and looks very experienced and professional.
