I’m sorry there is nothing fresh or special about this place. Go to subway or even better, go to a local mom an pop sandwich shop. My sandwich was pretty simple and boring.

Probably the worst sandwich in the history of mankind. Overpriced junk. I really question how they are still in business. Please bring something better into this location. Simplicity is one thing but bland and dry… like a desert in your mouth… like sand paper. is just sad.

The«yesterday old» loaf of bread is so good and cheap($.50)! It tastes fresh and fluffy after a day old! I like to buy the bread and toast it in the morning for breakfast with eggs and sausage! Yum! My mom uses it to make a BLT for lunch! Great way to save on lunch! A plus!

I think people who don’t like this place don’t know how to appreciate the taste of simplicity. Not everything you eat needs to have 50 different spices in it. Unlike most reviewers, I LOVETHISPLACE. I moved back to San Diego a year ago and I miss Jimmy Johns so much! Turkey Tom is my go to, with sprouts. Loves it. Super simple sandwich, I can taste every ingredient, and it tastes fresh. The service is incredibly fast too. They also bake the bread there daily and you can literally watch the staff make your sandwich. Definitely recommend!

During my time in Reno I loved JJ’s for their fast friendly delivery and the new location here in Irvine is no different. 14 minutes from the time I placed my online order JJ’s delivery person was at my office. The sandwiches are simple but good and with a 1 sandwich minimum and no delivery fee it’s hard not to order this every day. To those who are disappointed at the sandwiches in person, the time and effort saved with the delivery more than makes up for the prices. Love Jimmy Johns.

Friendly staff and not as expensive as other options at UTC. I got the Beach Club, which was bland. Wouldn’t come back for the sandwich.

Way overpriced for average food. Sandwich, chips and drink for $ 9.90! I wondered why the place was empty but thought I had just beat the lunch rush. The Dip across the way was packed and now I know why. Rather go to Chipotle for the price, with guac! The upside is the workers were friendly and my sandwich was ready quickly though probably won’t go back.

Ok– first the good news: great, friendly service and super-quick preparation. My order was taken, paid for and by the time I put ice in my cup it was done. The bad news: everything else. This is a sub shop, competing with many many other sub/sandwich places near by but Jimmy Johns offers nothing memorable at all. The fact ingredients are bland and generic, the bread fresh but completely forgettable. The bacon piece was thick but its quality is that of a bacon-flavored nougat– hard to chew and worse to swallow. My overall impression is that the ingredients were mass-purchased from a wholesaler like Costco by the lowest bidder and wrapped behind a brand name in a decent location. While the employees were exceedingly efficient and friendly, alas, a smile cannot make a poorly made sandwich any more palatable. I rarely rarely write a negative review but when it’s called for– it is what it is. I can get a smile and a pre-made sandwich at Trader Joe next door for less money

Mediocre sandwiches — you’re paying money for a sandwich that looks and tastes like something served in a cafeteria. My sandwich had avocado in it and it was pasty and definitely did not feel fresh. I ordered 4 different sandwiches and they didn’t bother to label any of them. They’re fast but I’d pick quality over speed and thus am giving only 1 star. The only good thing is that they have $ 1 sandwich deals sometimes which is nice, but I wouldn’t pay anything more than that. Le Dip and Mendocino are probably better options for you if you’re craving a sandwich. I’d even prefer subway over JJ’s. Also, one of their delivery drivers was driving next to me on the road and started cutting into my lane causing me to swerve to avoid collision. And he had the nerve to honk at me! Rude!

I have to start by saying my review might be a little biased as I came here when they were doing their anniversary special of $ 1 sandwiches per person. Thankfully I arrived fairly early and while the line was out the line went by quickly. The workers were also very friendly even given the hectic atmosphere of the large crowds during the sale. I got the turkey and while it looks simple it was actually quite delicious. I think the mayo makes it. It adds that nice creamy flavor to go with the crispy lettuce and turkey meat. The only downside was that the bread tasted a little on the stale side to me, which is surprising because of how much business they were getting that day that I would expect a fresher loaf of bread. Overall not bad, good tasting sandwich and friendly workers.

I have been a fan of JJ’s from the Midwest and am thrilled that they have made it here. I have read through some of the reviews on here and have to laugh when someone said they would rather eat subway — if you like subway you probably should not be rating anything. I ate here tonight and was happy to enjoy the taste I remembered — however the bread was a bit fluffier that other JJ’s I’ve been to. Could have been the batch or the myth about the water in these parts. JJ’s bread is what makes the sub– there are no others like in these parts which seems crazy because they make them like this in a lot of great sub places and it is the BEST sub bread. I would definitely recommend to try it if you have not– my favorite is the Italian night Club it the JJ gargantuan if you have a big appetite. Thanks for reading

Wow! So much hateration on this place. I don’t think this place is 2.5 stars. What’s worthy of being deemed 2.5 stars? 1) A place with whatever food & crap service(McDonald’s) 2) A place with good food & horrid service(I had this experience once at a Stonefire Grill) 3) 2.5… my college GPA? So me… haha! 3 stars — Mediocre to Decent 4 stars — Good to Great 5 stars — Awesome to Best I give this place 4 stars. Service: I’d give this place 5 stars. Did you see how fast they make the sandwich? It was in the blink of an eye. If Usain Bolt made sandwiches… it’d be at the Jimmy John speed. I was impressed. Now if they can teach this food Hogwarts wizardry to McDonald’s & other fast food chains. Food: Purty damn good. It wasn’t Langer’s. It wasn’t Pasadena Sandwich Co. It was a lil south of Jersey Mike’s(but it was cheaper). I got the Gargantua. Loved the portion of meat, the freshness of the greens, & the dressing. My friends said they loved the bread. It was just«aight» to me. I prefer Jersey Mike’s buns over Jimmy’s(In the straightest possible way). What can I say. I’m a butt man. Honestly… This is not 2.5 stars. There are places a lot more deserving of 2.5 stars. This being 2.5 stars is like saying Audrey Hepburn is average looking, the Grand Canyon is a hole in the ground, & a Stradivarius is a piece of wood. See! You got me exaggerating about your exaggerating. Damn you!

This opened in the UTC so you get hoards of the college students during lunch, plus the office workers in the University Tower coming. If you’re coming for lunch, do yourself a favor and order online for pickup. I am not quite a fan yet because I usually order wheat bread for my sandwiches. Don’t get me wrong, their white bread is great, but the wheat bread is not prepared the same way as the white. The wheat bread they use are slices of bread rather than the fluffy baguette type that they have for the white. What I do like about Jimmy Johns is the online ordering. You can indicate how much of each ingredient you would prefer and if there are any extra charges. Pretty good, but not my go-to sandwich place.

Grand opening 1 dollar subs. 5 stars. Good ingredients. But this review is only for this one time. This place is a three at most with mediocre ingredients. Only good part is the French bread. And it’s not even that evenly portioned.

Boring sandwiches overall with less variety than Subway. The bread would be much better warm. Their hook is that it’s incredibly fast, which it was. But I’m willing to wait for something if it means better quality. My sandwich came out indeed super fast and was nothing special. I won’t be returning. Head over to the old standby Le Dip for a good sandwich served on real French bread and crisped on a panini grill for that satisfying crunch.

Worst place ever. Wanted to try it since I saw it all over the east coast. Nearly empty on a Saturday night even though it just opened. Looks clean and new. Got the plain slim turkey breast. All it was a piece of bread with turkey on it. That’s it. No lettuce or tomatoes or anything. It was dry and nasty and flavorless. The staff person told me what was in it and she even seemed embarrassed to say how little was in it. The price was $ 4.49. No. The sandwich took literally two seconds to make. The staff person gave me some packets of mustard and mayo. How can you possibly justify some place like this? Walk across to Le Diplomat 15 feet away and eat there instead.

How fantastically average. I had high hopes going in because since it’s a new place, it’s clean and has an attractive design. I ordered their version of the Italian sub. A few thin slices of capicola and salami between an 8 inch loaf of boring white bread. Over-packed with lettuce. The hot peppers and dressing weren’t that great, but they added a necessary bit of tang that made the sandwich bearable. I got the meal so a fountain drink and(bbq) chips were included. It all cost ~$ 10. One major plus side was the bag of chips. JJ really knows how to make chips; he even packs a lot in the bag(compared to Lays). If I didn’t eat a chip after every bite, I don’t think I could have finished the sandwich. As sad as this sounds Subway is a better option since it’s cheaper, tastes better, and has more variety.

I love Jimmy Johns ever since my boyfriend made me get some when a location opened up in Westwood. I was genuinely happy to find one in the UTC. I normally go for the 8″ subs because the bread is just so yummy. I feel like I could eat a couple by myself though I’d feel super guilty after. My favorite is the veggie with sprouts, onions, and dijon mustard. The veggies give the sandwich a good crunch but again, I wish they had more sauces. I actually got some siracha sauce from le dip and smothered my sandwich with it, so good! And btw it does make it super hard to be impressive when le dip is a few feet away with pretty awesome sandwiches themselves and many more years of successful establishment. I wish the new UTC JJs luck. What I’m really not digging is the price discrepancy compared to the east coast locations. Normally, in Charlotte these 8″ subs are $ 4.50. I was a little upset to find I was paying $ 1.49 extra for the same sandwich at the Irvine location. Kinda steep. The Westwood location charges $ 5.75 as well. Consistency would be great. I’m probably just going to wait to visit the bf in NC to go to JJs again. Shouldn’t be eating it all the time anyways, I would get super fat if I ate JJs every time I have a craving.

Perfectly Adequate describes this place. Ordered a sandwich using their online ordering form. Don’t even the remember the sandwich’s name because thats how good it tasted. All I remember is that it was quoted as ¼ of roast beef between two whole grain pieces of bread. I put this place behind which which in terms of creativity with sandwhiches, behind le dip in terms of quality, and behind subway in terms of value So why did I try this place? I like trying new things and that bit me good this time. For 8 $ I expected much more than just a sandwhich I could easily make at home or find elsewhere for cheaper. Good try Jimmy John’s but sadly I see you being replaced in UTC very very soon.

Coming back to Irvine after the holidays, I saw this new restaurant popped up in the UTC office building. I decided to try it out and they said they had just opened this past Wednesday. Their menu seems to be just a bunch of deli and sub sandwiches with generic combinations. Their sandwich bread is just a lame white bread sub with the option of sliced wheat bread. I decided to order their Veggie Club which was a sub with avocado, cheeses, tomatoes, lettuce… Everything else on the menu seemed generic as well. For sandwiches, they don’t entirely have memorable varieties. My experience was mediocre at the very least, and for paying $ 7 for mine, I’d rather grab a tastier sandwich across at the very loved Le Dip or grub elsewhere. For simple sandwiches, this place will probably need to «up» their edge to have staying power in the growing competitive UTC dining area. Perhaps crunchier, bigger bread options, meatier insides, more flavor and fresher, crisper and louder vegetables would make it more appetizing. Otherwise, it’s lacking. Interesting to see how this place evolves/grows over time!
