I had a great experience with Lassen Group. Multiple recruiters got me interviews with a bunch of companies in the Greater Los Angeles area. They prep’ed me for the interviews, kept me in the loop through the entire interview process, and eventually helped me land my current job. I worked with both Adrian and Chris. Special thanks to them and Lassen Group.

This organization uses bait and switch tactics as many others have said. After a message saying they had a position for me, I called back and answered questions for 15 minutes on things you could read from my resume, which I was told they had. Another predatory tactic they used is to find out who you’ve interviewed with so they can either claim you as their own or scout the waters. After the 15 minutes, I still wasn’t told about any position and was asked to come in, that it was a requirement of their clients. I cannot use a strong enough description for this level of unethical behavior – one of the best contracts I’ve ever worked came after a 30-​minute phone conversation where even the recruiter never saw me, so maybe Lassen only represents unethical companies. I kept saying I didn’t want to waste her time or mine if there was no position open for me so she mentioned a company name that I later found had no open positions for anyone close to my skills. The only unethical tactic they didn’t use was to require the names of two former managers in order to proceed. One thing I forgot to mention is when I called back, the girl needed to identify me by the last four digits of my phone number, not my name. Extra phishy (purposefully spelled that way).

Recently worked with Taylor a couple months ago on a DevOps role in the orange county area. She was able to line me up with the company and get the ball rolling. She did a good job in handling my job hunting process that led to my eventual employment.
One thing to note — I did pay for parking, while this is a small thing its one thing that sticks out in the 4 times I have used a recruitment company.
Another thing to always note as a candidate is this is a recruitment firm and expect it to flow as such. While they are very professional they are also very persistent and sometimes pushy. Do not be afraid to say no or counter what is offered.
Taylor helped me achieve a salary I was happy with in an environment that fits my lifestyle.
I have recommended her to a few other of my tech friends and will continue to do so.

I had a good experience working with the Lassen Group. From the point I was contacted by the recruiter to the point when I was presented an offer from the hiring manager was roughly five business day, which seemed pretty quick. The staff was friendly and very helpful, they also had a good relationship with the hiring manager which was a plus.

I’ve worked with a number of Irvine recruiters and Lassen Group is the worst. I’ve had several calls where they started out saying they had a job for me (I’m a well-​paid IT professional). They pumped me for information about all my interviews — companies, hiring managers, etc. — and after wasting 15 minutes of my valuable time they ended by saying there was no specific job but they would keep me in mind.
The last time they did this I was hesitant to give them any info but they said there was a job for which I was a good fit. I did give them some info about a job I was interviewing for through another agency, only to get an email from them a few days later advertising the very job I had told them about.
As to the job they were trying to get me, I was told the company was very interested in interviewing me so there were several calls trying to arrange it — it was just a matter of coordinating schedules. When an expected call about the interview never came (I was told he’d call me the next morning), I called the recruiter to find out what was going on. He was busy, I left a voice mail — no reply. After several calls with no response, I never did connect with the recruiter. My last call was handled by an assistant, who rudely told me that if there was any information I would get a call but «don’t call them». Never did find out what happened to the interview.
My advice is that if you see a job they are advertising, find another agency to represent you — there are plenty of reputable ones out there. There are very few «exclusive» job listings despite what they may claim.

I had pretty good experience with lassengroup for my new job. Ryan Henry was the agent for me from lassengroup and he guided me through the whole process in a very professional and smooth manner. Best part was updating me on regular intervals on the status of activities and helping me understand the doubts/​queries i had. I am joining the new company from 1^st Feb and hope to have good work experience there :)

Worked with Dominic and Lassen Group for a little over two weeks – starting as an unemployed developer, and finishing as a happily employed one.
Dominic and his team were very courteous, professional, and understanding of both my needs and the clients’. That’s what you need from a recruiter – a professional liaison that communicates and bridges the discrepancies as well as the commonalities between both parties in a timely and efficient manner.
I was never left in the dark or confused as to where things stood at any point during the process. I was given prompt email and telephone responses, with daily updates.
Wouldn’t hesitate to work with Lassen Group, and Dominic, again.

Worked with Sydney Molinar, contacted me for a job. Ended up scheduling an interview with me and never showing up and never notifying me at all afterwards… what a waste of time. Have worked with the group before in the past, it always goes down like this.

Lassen Group came through for me. I was not actively doing a job search, but they found me on LinkedIn and informed me about a position a bit closer to where I live now.
The position that was open was for a UX /​Visual Designer for a reputable company in Orange County, and positions like these can get pretty competitive, especially when it comes to talent.
This is how the process went down:
1. I emailed Sydney that I was interested in the position. And about a day later they called me to let me know that the company showed interest in me.
2. I interviewed with the Lassen Group with Sydney first, so that they could get a better understanding of what I wanted in my next role.
3. Adrian then followed up with information about the company. He also gave me pointers for the interview.
Anyhow, needless to say, I went several rounds with the company and Adrian has kept me in the loop through the entire process. He went above and beyond, as in ensuring I got the salary and benefits I wanted.
If I had any questions, he was there.

I applied for a position that this firm had posted and was called in for a Preliminary interview right away.
Before I had even gone to the interview with the recruiter, they had set up an interview with a company they felt that I was perfect for, this was after a short phone interview with Lassen Group.
On Tuesday I interviewed at Lassen with Nathan, and he walked me through what I should do at the interview, how I should dress and act. He also gave me some pointers on some answers to questions that I might be asked.
On Wednesday, I went to the interview prepared and ready. The interview went very well and I was able to go to a second interview the following week.
Through all of that, I kept Nathan in the loop about how things went and how I rated the company at which I interviewed. After the 2^nd interview, I got a job offer with the firm I am now working for. Nathan at Lassen Group made sure that I had all my ducks in a row. He did all the negotiating for pay and benefits, I just had to prove that I was the right person for the job. He called me just today to make sure that everything was good and set.
Lassen group is a one of the better recruiting firms that looks to place good people in good jobs. They work hard to make it easier on you and to get you the best opportunity they can.

I have worked with Lassen group before in the past and have done so again.
I have seen a few reviews specifically with Sean Card and can definitely say, I’ve had the opposite experience as others here. Is he aggressive in his pursuit and advice? Yes, but not in a bad way. The advice he gives is from experience in the industry and some of it I hadn’t thought about at all before it was mentioned.
That said, the entire time I was dealing with him, he was on the ball. He kept me updated, contacted the employers, setup several interviews and gave me tips on the place I was going, their atmosphere, type of environment, industry information, etc.
It was definitely appreciated and he was honestly the only recruiters to constantly keep in touch with me throughout my search. In the end, he negotiated and helped me with a position that I think is going to work out great.

Horrid. I was contacted by six, SIX separate recruiters over a two month period and not one of them secured a single interview for me. Each time I was contacted I was made to jump through hoops all over again. Their staff does not share information apparently.
Yesterday I was contacted by Alexandra. She assured me that they were «actively making calls». To who exactly? Remember: I have not had one single interview via this agency.
Don’t even bother with these clowns.

This concise review is dedicated to Taylor Ziencina.
To begin this review, I will share MY experience about the IT recruitment industry; it is foul, greedy, selfish, and nefariously evil. I despise the fact that this industry thrives off of IT professionals who need work and experience… The IT industry is already scrupulously demanding and competitive. Most recruiters take advantage of this reality only to ensure that they get paid regardless of the candidate.
Taylor Ziencina from Lassen Group, is the diamond in the rough, a blessing to me and a gift to Lassen Group. She is the reason I have the dream job I have today. After 8 years of working «mom & pop» IT gigs, Taylor saw my credentials and experience and went to work to get me REAL work and not that temp contract nonsense! Anyway I’m thankful to have experienced working with Lassen Group’s Taylor Ziencina.

Let me first start by saying that with my background I deal with a LOT of recruiting firms. I literally have several of them calling me every single day and I can tell the difference between a good one and one that’s just spamming resumes in hopes of getting a hit.
At Lassen i’ve worked with Ryan Henry (who just got me my most recent job) and Taylor Ziencina and a couple of others (sorry forgot the names). I have physically met these people, they are real and in a real office not some overseas call center. I found them all to be very direct and professional in what they do.
Now regarding some of the other comments I see here, i would like to address them:
1) Why do they need to get every piece of information from me…
Well if they are going to actually try to match you to a job it would certainly help them to know more about you. Yes they could be searching for keywords, and in fact i’m sure they do this but that is a valid tool for recruiting. If they call you for a Java job and you only know javascript just say no thanks, don’t waste your or their time. if they offer you a job that is out of your area just say no. I did both of these things and they completely understood and eventually found me a great job.
2) why do they need to know every other job i’ve applied for
Because they work for money stupid, if someone else has already submitted you to a job then that other person will get the commission, end of story. stop thinking that everyone in this world is just there to serve you and that they have unlimited time to waste on you.
3) They called me at work and i didn’t even give them my number, OMG!
Yep, guess what you have no privacy. The moment you entered your info into a publicly available website it’s gone all over the place. Sorry but those things that make the internet so awesome also have some drawbacks, get used to it and realize that it’s probably not such a bad thing to be contacted by potential employers. it sure beats NOT being contacted by any potential employers when you need a job.
4) they were impolite
And You’ve never been impolite? Imagine if you had to call random people all day long and 90% of them told you to F off?
So yea, i’m not doubting that other people have had bad experiences with this company but i think that can be said for all recruiting firms. All i can say is my experience was pretty damn good.
My details:
I interviewed with two companies in person through Lassen. Both companies would have been a very good fit for my skills. I got the job at the second one. During this time they did offer several other companies but I declined them for various reasons. It helps if you actually know what kind of job you are looking for.
I would recommend this company to anyone (and have)

The tech industry is competitive already, so using a source to edge out the competition is an added bonus. I had worked with the Lassen Group in the past, trying to find the right position, but it wasn’t meant to be.
This time around, with the market becoming more demanding for Web Developers, .NET Developers and etc., it was the perfect time to utilize the Lassen Groups skills and resources.
The reason I choose to use their services are because:
1) Friendly staff
2) Knowledgeable recruiters
3) Plenty of quality companies that they work with
Sean and Chris really worked hard to find me the right company, which meet my criteria. If you aren’t comfortable with a company or a potential employer, you can be truthful about it and they handle it very professionally.
Communication is very important and I believe that if everyone is on the same page, then everyone can be successful and close the deal, which happened in my case.
The staff may be pushy, but that is because they want to motivate you to do better and understand the importance of not being indecisive.
