I ordered a two layer cake for a baby shower I was throwing and worked with Liz solely via email for pricing and design. I felt pretty confident that she understood the vision for the cake(woodsy with a fox) and that confidence was confirmed when we arrived the morning of the shower to pick it up. It was exactly what I had described and super cute! With much care we traveled to the party location and it received a lot of oohs and ahhs as it was displayed for all attendees. The oohs and ahhs turned into mmms and yums after we all got to taste the decadent devil’s belgian chocolate cake! Luckily we had some vanilla gelato to accompany which helped with the richness of the chocolate. All in all a great experience working with Liz — the cake looked beautiful and tasted great!

A lovely bakery within walking distance of home, which certainly influences my review at least a little! Their cakes and macaroons are great, the red velvet is my favourite, and the slices are HUGE– easily enough for two to share. The frosting on the cupcakes can be a little hit and miss– sometimes hard and lacking in flavour. I’ve taken off a star because their coffee is really average. It doesn’t match up with the quality of their other offerings. Fortunately they do decent tea!

This review is based solely on their breakfast. We recently moved into the area and looked forward to a morning walk to Layer Cake for breakfast. My wife had the French toast and I had the breakfast sandwich. Both were very average. The sandwich was exactly how the menu described; eggs, cheddar and bacon — nothing special and a bit dry. I could definitely make better at home by adding a yogurt spread, avocado, tomato, dill relish, seasoning, or anything to give it life. The French toast wasn’t anything that you couldn’t get from Denny’s. The service was just as bland as the food — not bad but nothing special either. I think this is my first, solid 3-star review with no apprehension. Dessert and pastry items looked delicious. We’ll try their desserts some time but will probably head over to Champagne to try them out for breakfast next time.

Within the last week I have had breakfast and lunch here. Breakfast Saturday was my first time trying this place. I am in this center all the time, and probably just figured it was a bakery only, so I stayed away. For breakfast I had the Pecan and Banana French Toast. It was very good, and was a generous portion. The french toast was really fluffy and had great flavor. The fruit that it came with was very fresh. I also tried my friends omelette, and that was good, too! For dessert we had a red heart macaroon, with chocolate inside, and a green pistachio macaroon. Both had a lot of flavor and were a nice treat! Today for lunch I had the Turkey Club sandwich, no tomato… and it came with chips. The sandwich was really good, and everything on it was fresh. I wanted to try so many different desserts, but I refrained and will have to go back another time and give them a taste! We went for lunch today just after 11am, and it was almost empty and very quiet. I am sure it gets packed during the lunch hour, with local high school kids, but early was the perfect time to go!

I stopped by last minute to purchase a birthday cake. The 6″ round devil’s food chocolate cake was elegant and perfect. Just big enough to place a «Happy Birthday Dad» in frosting(maybe not frosting, something like white chocolate). The cake was super moist and rich. A little on the pricier side for a cake($ 32) but as rich as it is, it would feed probably 8 people. It’s definitely not light and fluffy like the asian bakery cakes. I could probably eat four big slices and not feel full. The staff was a little aloof when I first walked in(what can be expected nowadays from young kids) but they were friendly enough.

Used layer cake to make a birthday cake. They did a great job in replicating the picture of the cake I wanted. The only complaint I have is that the cake was dry. I ordered a one tiered lemon raspberry cake and the Flavors were there but the cake itself was dry. The macarons here are just okay but what I mainly come here for are their Caneles. They are my favorite pastry but they sell out quick so you have to get there early.

Their cakes are fantastic they are nice and moist with real buttercream frosting. The frosting is amazing! Definitely recommend the cakes! Service is ok but as long as I get cake its all good.

I stopped by around 2pm to grab some of their fresh macaroons. There was only one other customer inside. I stood at the counter for maybe 10 mins without being helped. They have horrible customer service. Sad thing is all the desserts looked great. On that note, I’ll never know how they taste since I won’t be Going back!

Not as many options as I thought there would be but my boyfriend LOVED the macaroons.

I live 1 mile away but stopped going here. A few of the assistants behind the counter have really long bangs that just fall in their faces and their hair is never tied or pinned back to prevent hair from falling in the food. Since the average woman loses between 50 and 100 strands per day, it just makes me sick thinking about it.

Strawberry Delight Layer Cake — 4 stars Really delicious. Definitely coming back for more; they’ve struck the strawberry flavor — just right. The price isn’t too shabby. It’s all in the name, really. What a delightful piece of layer cake.

The french macarons here are the best. My family is a big fan. The coconut one is my favorite one. They are very addictive desserts . Bit Pricer that’s why 4 stars but quality is always excellent.

I am a big fan of Red Velvet, but I am especially a big fan of their Red Velvet. It is just the right amount of moisture and just enough of sweetness from their cream cheese frosting. You can purchase whole cakes here or by the slice. The only other cake I’ve tried here is the Peanut Butter Chocolate and it was extremely to rich and sweet for my liking. It tasted as if I was eating a slice of a big thick, rich truffle! I ordered it ahead of time for my friend for her Birthday via telephone and I thought it was really nice to be able to place cake orders and pay over the phone. The way they decorated it was also really pretty. They were able to make it look very elegant and beautiful for a small 6″ cake.

I normally don’t write reviews but in this case I feel that I have to do it. If you are in a search for a birthday cake, that looks and tastes amazing than you have come to the right place. I ordered here 2 cakes, one for my daughter’s 8th birthday and one for my son’s 6 birthday. I was truly impressed with the design and also with the taste. The last cake, a chocolate hazelnut cake, was to die for! Liz, the baker who manufactured these cakes, is a cake genius. They are not cheap but they deserve every penny; I truly recommend Liz — you and your guests will be absolutely impressed :). Too bad I cannot post the pictures of my cakes in here– but when you go to the bakery check their catalog, she does amazing designs! Beautiful… And Yummy!

This place is sometimes a hit or a miss and the last time I was here was on Saturday, August 22, 2015 and I was disappointed. As always I picked up some maroons, but this time I had ordered a breakfast sandwich as well. To my surprise, the scramble eggs had blue spots in them which may be molds. As it was underneath a slice of cheese. I know their expertise is on desserts and probably not breakfast food, but this makes me questions if their serving molded eggs, what else is molding up in their kitchen? Sadly, I won’t be coming back.

Tasty, tasty cakes if you enjoy a slightly lighter cake. Not cheap tho. Haven’t had any other dishes so can’t speak to them– but we keep coming back for cakes, party after party!

Great local Bakery. I love their macarons. One of the best I’ve had. I ordered my son’s 3rd bday cake here. The gals here made his shark + monster truck vision come to life. The cupcakes are not as good as their cakes unfortunately.

This used to be my go-to bakery for wonderfully flaky butter croissants, but something must have changed recently. The butter croissant I ate today was nothing special. I think the ones at Starbucks right now are better! I also got a salted caramel chocolate cupcake, and was disappointed in the frosting. You can remove it all in one shot, like a little top hat, because its consistency is that of a refrigerated stick of butter. Others might like this type of frosting, but it’s not my cup of tea and it wasn’t what I was expecting. The flavor of the cupcake, however, was great. Just be aware that if you’re in the mood for soft, lickable frosting, you should go elsewhere.

I come here 3very once in a while. Either for coffee or for a cookie. The cakes dont always seem fresh so I dont order those anymore. Ocassionally I will get a slice of pastel de tres leches, just for kicks. The reason for that is that the cake is always moist(due to its nature), but it’s nothing to write home about. I have to admit that I am very picky with this cake because I am mexican and like this traditional dessert. And it is difficult to get it right, but while in the area it’s worth it sometimes. I stopped coming in altogether for a while because it seemed that the staff was always busy with something else. I am back today because I am early for a lunch appointment next door. I ordered their regular coffee and that pretty much sucked. It is bitter and old, and I need lots of sugar to make it drinkable. When I asked for creamer or half and half they told me they didn’t have either. Little things like that really make me wonder how this shop has stayed in business all this time. It’s Saturday morning. How can a bakery and coffee shop be out of half and half and creamer? The service is much friendlier and nice than before so for that they get a solid 3 stars. They have to improve the food and drinks… maybe even their prices.
