New Life Irvine

Attending this church trips me out because it’s exactly like my college campus fellowship from way back in the days. I mean almost everything is the same; New Life has a green white banner hanging down, my fellowship had a green white banner; they have speakers on poles, we had speaker on poles; they make you wear a name tag, my fellowship made you wear a name tag; they have a white praise singer, we had a white praise singer; they sing old school songs, we sang old school songs (at that time it was current of course haha); they meet in a school, we met in a school; they have a Korean pastor, we had a Korean pastor as our campus coordinator and I could go on and on and on… the main differences would be that most people at New Life are married and have kids.
Some people might conclude from what I wrote that this church is old school/​stuck in a time bubble and such, but, that’s not the case at all, the one thing I can’t really describe is the spirit of this church and the nostalgia I feel every time I pick up a name tag, walk the through the doors and take my seat, that’s something that needs to be experienced for yourself (except the nostalgia part of course, that’s uniquely mine). Anyway, what this church lacks in «hip» music with a fancy light show, a «post-​modern» sermon/​pastor and other various gimmicks and glams, they make up in a very thoughtful sincere sermon, a personal pastor, a simple heartfelt praise, amazing/​welcoming staff and overall a stable consistent church. I guess if I had to put it in footballs terms, they remind me of the 1980’s smash mouth run oriented football teams, they’re not fancy and high flying like the west coast or the run and shoot offense, but, they grind out the yards, move the sticks and gets the job done.
I’ve been attending this church for about 8 months now, and I’m still not very involved, the only people I know by name is Pastor Jeff and this girl name Janice that my wife says hi to when they see each other, but, if my impressions of this church are this positive think about what it’d be like if I actually had a chance/​time to get active, I’d imagine it’d be something special. So, if you’re in the market for church I’d give this church a good long hard look, if you can get past the superficial stuff like they don’t have a fancy building/​equipment, that the main goal isn’t to entertain and stuff, I think you’ll like what you find, a grounded, biblical church that puts God and His people first.
Oh they have a BBQ once a month for all newcomers. I haven’t attended that either, but in my mind I’m a perpetual newcomer until I eat their free BBQ, that’s how I justify it.

There’s so much to say.
I just want to keep this nice & simple. My life has transformed through this church. Pastor Jeff is one incredible man, the words that are coming out of his mouth seems to be straight from our Lord himself.

After searching for a church to call home, we were referred to this church by my sister and couldn’t thank her enough. From the moment we parked the car to go inside church, the members were so welcoming we immediately felt at home. All I can say is you will feel full when you go home.

I just can’t say enough about New Life Mission Church Irvine. My wife, kids and I have been looking for years in the Irvine area for a church with a focus on spiritual growth, amazing children’s program and great friendly people. New Life Irvine was the perfect find. Sundays are awesome, but they go the extra step and also make an effort to bring the community together with events during the week with basketball nights, growth groups, mom’s play groups, picnics, outings and much more.
I found Pastor Jeff to be genuine and sincere in his walk with Christ and because of him the church is growing at a rapid pace. My kids (ages from 2 – 7) enjoy spending time with the other families and love Sundays because the Sunday school teachers (hired staff) are incredible and great with the kids! I feel blessed to now be a member and am telling all of my friends and family around the area.
Side Note:
Another great +++ is that they don’t pressure you at all to come out and get involved. Super easy to join for service without all the pressures of a small church!!!

I have been following Pastor Jeff since 8^th grade (now I’m 3^rd year in college). He is a great pastor, mentor, adviser and heavenly brother. By him, I was able to meet Christ and accept Him as my only savior. I strongly encourage any viewer of my review to check out New Life Irvine!

So I’ve been going to this church with my husband and son for a couple of months now and absolutely love it!
This church only started a few months ago and is not a mega-​church. I love that you are welcomed and feel at ease with the people. It’s definitely family-​friendly and welcomes all with open arms.
I really love their Children’s Ministry called New Life Sprouts. You can tell that the students really enjoy the curriculum and that the teachers truly love and care for their students. My son is 3 and rushes off to Miss S’s class every Sunday! Hearing him sing songs, repeat Bible verses, and learn how to love others really brings a smile to my face.
Most importantly, you’ll hear Pastor Jeff preach the gospel with every sermon, focusing on the Christ-​centeredness of the Bible. The good news of the gospel resonates during each worship service. Love hearing the sermons every week!
If you are looking for a church… definitely come out to New Life Irvine! We meet on Sundays at El Camino Real Elementary School at 10 am. Come see why I love this church so much… and hopefully you’ll love it too. =)

I’ve been looking for a church almost a year now after I moved back down to orange county. A couple of friends from Burbank encouraged me to visit this church plant in irvine so I decided to give it a try.
My first visit to New Life Irvine was about a month ago. At first, I was a little intimidated because there weren’t many people that were my age — many are young couples with children. …but my fear quickly dissolved when I saw how warm everyone at the church was. Everyone is friendly, welcoming, and encouraging. After visiting 3 times, I feel like I have a whole bunch of older brothers and sisters and many many nephews and nieces. haha
What really got me hooked was the sermons. The church really strives to keep worship biblical and Christ-​centered which is a +++++++++++ :)
I love it here and I plan to keep coming out and am thinking about becoming a member. I’m sure anyone else who visits will love it too.

My wife & I have been going to New Life Irvine for the past few months and we’ve been truly blessed in so many ways through this church. The people we’ve met have been warm and welcoming, the preaching/​teaching has been rock solid, and the gospel centered vision of being ‘ordinary people, transformed by an extraordinary God’ really resonates with us.
Overall, I highly recommend this church for anyone looking for a good, Christ-​centered community church in the Irvine/​South OC area.

When my husband and I were looking for a church, important factors to us were a solid teaching of the Word and fellowship of believers to encourage and edify one another. We are grateful that New Life Irvine is that place for us to grow, not only as individuals, but as a family.
Being a first time mom, I was also concerned about a church community where my son can grow in a deeper knowledge of the Word. With the children’s ministry, New Life Sprouts, I am reassured that as my child grows up in this church, he will receive sound teaching of the Gospel message.

When I think about church, I think of a community of like-​minded believers that desire to strengthen their relationship with God but also with one another. That’s what New Life Irvine is all about.
What I especially appreciate is that the people are sincere and real. I don’t feel like I have to pretend to be someone I am not, rather I feel free to be open and honest about where I am in my own relationship with God and I know that I will not be judged for it.
New Life Irvine also has a great children’s ministry program. It is quite evident how much this church cares for and loves the kids. Having just had a baby of our own, it is wonderful that the church values teaching children biblical truths and I can see how members really care for and love each others’ kids too.

new life irvine is a solid church with genuine people and wonderful preaching/​teaching of the gospel. it’s a church that reaches out to the community with a big heart for lost souls but at the same time, its a great place for intimate fellowship and a wonderful place for kids!
my husband and i checked out this church in June 2011. A pastor friend from San Diego recommended this church to us while we were in the middle of looking for a new place to worship. as soon as we joined, everyone totally welcomed us into the family!
i also love that there are lots of families with kids here. it makes me look forward to having kids of my own someday and being able to access all these great parents for advice. :)
i feel that this church will be our home church for a long time. being a pastor’s kid i grew up in the church all my life, but i am really looking forward to a new journey with the new life irvine family.

When I look for a church, I’m hoping to find several things. A friendly and welcoming environment, praise that stirs emotion and passion, a pastor that genuinely cares for the people in his congregation, and most importantly a message that focuses on the wonders of the cross and the grace that we have received through Christ Jesus. From the first couple of visits I had here, it was obvious that these things are highly valued at this church. But there’s something a little different about this group. Not only do they want to minister to the needs of the members of the church, but they really value outreach to the community to bring in non-​believers. That’s cool! They really stand behind the message that is preached and take active efforts to bring in new believers.
And for those that have kids, this place rocks! Their kids ministry is called New Life Sprouts and it’s obvious that these guys really care for giving the children a fun learning experience instead of just being a childcare where you drop off your kids. They have several teachers for different ages and have an awesome curriculum that was apparently designed by John Piper.
If you like, they have smaller groups called Community Groups where you can get to know several different members of the church better. I like these more than small groups I’ve had in the past because of the emphasis on family. Kids are welcome to come. Additionally, in these groups you might find some really seasoned and mature Christians, but at the same time you might have non-​believers in the group. And the way I’ve seen them interact is really non-​judgmental and welcoming. Again, it’s really cool to see that even in these smaller bodies of believers that there is such an intentional effort to reach out to the community abroad.
If you’re looking for a church in the Irvine area, I’d highly recommend that you give this place a try!
