UPDATE: Came back tonight and had a much better experience so I am updating my review. Food was good and service was great.

One of my favorite steakhouse that doesn’t disappoint. I like trying new steakhouses but Ruth’s Chris is always a safe bet if you’re craving a good steak. I always leave satisfied. Service is always stellar as well. Parking can be a little hard to find in this location but you can always valet. I’m sure everyone’s probably tried Ruth’s Chris before but if you haven’t, you should. My sister forgot her phone when we dined here and the manager was nice enough to hold it ’til we picked it up even though it was passed their closing time!

the food is great, the staff is atrocious. My girlfriend and I were going here for Valentines Day, we had a reservation around 8:30. We had made similar reservations at their Anaheim location who had the courtesy of calling in to confirm our reservation. I had an email reservation for both locations as I had booked out reservation through OpenTable. We simply called in to this location to confirm out reservation as no one had reached out to us. An employee«Liz» had picked up with the utmost disrespect asked us 3 times what we were calling in for when we simply, in english had said«We are just trying to confirm our reservation at 8:30». After about 10 minutes of being on hold«yea we see you for 8:30, is there anything else». If I’m going to be paying good money on a special occasion I don’t think disrespecting your patrons is good business. How is one Ruth’s Chris establishment that much better in service than another? We literally decided after getting off the phone with Liz that we wouldn’t go to Ruth Chris. I hope management see’s this, I honestly think you should talk to this employee as she had ruined our diner plans. As former patrons of Ruth’s Chris Steak House, we will never go back to this location

My boyfriend surprised me this Valentine’s with a lovely dinner at Ruth’s Chris. We were seated around the time of our 8:45PM reservation and our waitress was Laura(I believe that’s her name). She was very informative when asked about the menu. I ordered the Petite Ribeye and my boyfriend ordered the Ribeye. We had sides of Au Gratin and Cream Spinach, an appetizer of their Crab meat stuffed Mushrooms, 2 glasses of Pinot Noir. Everything was delicious. My only complaint was that Laura never really came by to check up on us and when we were leaving, I had asked her to box up the rest of our food. I had a large piece of my Petite Ribeye left with more than half the plate of Cream Spinach and 1⁄3 plate of the Au Gratin. She put the Spinach Cream and Au Gratin each in tiny plastic containers(the kind of plastic containers you would put salsa in from El Pollo Loco). WHERE’S THERESTOFOURFOOD?! WEDIDN’T PAYFORTINYLEFTOVERS! Horrible!

First and foremost. Food is amazing. 5 Stars to the Chef and cooks. The over all review misses two stars. One star for the bland service. Felt like our server was basic and on auto pilot. Another for the valet service. I hate using Valet but as always you try to take a chance. Well looks like they like to pack in the cars really tight and decided to hit my side mirror and not say anything about it. Such a shame. I thought it would be a 5 star experience. Good luck. Don’t valet.

First off, a big thank you to my husband for treating me out to a wonderful dinner for my birthday. We had to come to this location because the one by home was already full. Unfortunately it seems that you need to valet your car at both locations which is always an annoyance, having to pay to park to eat a dinner. This location does have other parking available, but good luck finding any. It is a mad house. Parking is $ 4. We were seated in a nice half round booth on the end which is always a plus. We rarely drink so we ended up with simple iced teas. Pricing is on the higher side here, but I would highly recommend ordering from the Ruth’s Classics. This is a steal compared to their other options. You can get other dishes or just a tad bit more of food,(2 ounces in my case) for a few bucks MORE than the Ruth’s Classics, where you get a choice of soup or salad, an entrée, a side, and dessert! Even the sides will run you at about $ 10-$ 15. Some options cost about $ 45 and some options will cost about $ 55. For our salads I went with the apple kale and my husband went with the steakhouse salad.(Basically their house salad). I absolutely love this salad, as I am a big fan of salads with fruits, cheese and vinagerette lately. I ate every bite, and my husband seemed to enjoy his salad as well. For our entrees I went with the six ounce filet and shrimp.(The regular entrée of two four ounce medallions of filet and shrimp was $ 47 by itself) I ordered it medium well.(Yeah I know, but I don’t like blood oozing out of my food when I eat it). My husband ended up with the stuffed half chicken as the steak choices he wanted were on the $ 55 side and we didn’t want to spend too much more. As he has a fish(likely shellfish) allergy, he did not opt for the one I had. He let me sample a piece and the chicken was very flavorful. We both ended up with mashed potatoes as our sides. I found them to be okay, nothing special. While not a huge portion, I still got pretty full and did not finish my side completely. I believe they also say this is a shareable side, and I agree with that more than the side we received at Steakhouse 55. That side was quite small. The dessert comes with a chocolate/coffee torte with nutella graham crust, and also a small cup of mixed berries and cream. Since it was my birthday, they also added a yummy scoop of raspberry sorbet with mine and wrote out«Happy Birthday» on the plate. I also like how they ask if you are there for a special occasion and even decorate the tables with some cute confetti. I also liked how the manager stopped by to check on us and even wish me a Happy Birthday and asked about my experience. While I really enjoyed my meal, I personally do not see what is so different about their steak to make it jump out more than other places, but I enjoyed every bit of my meal and the service was excellent. Thank you Ruth’s Chris and my husband for making my birthday dinner a great one. I would come back!

I’ve been to this particular location numerous times and have always received great service both at the bar area and in the main restaurant area. Most of the time, I order one of their classic combos(around $ 60) that come with a soup or salad, a side, a meat of your choice(I normally pick the ribeye) and a prefixed dessert. For sides, the creamed spinich and potatoes au gratin are my favorite regular sides. The lobster mac and cheese is my favorite upgraded side. I personally like the ribeye without the bone as I feel its is well marbled and has better flavor. We recently tried the Tomahawk ribeye which was excellent and should be shared by two people. It runs about $ 115 bucks or so. This place offers a full bar, valet parking and has a tank with live lobsters when you walk in. This is my favorite steakhouse of all of the popular ones but I must say I like Mastros sides are a tad better.

This place has been a go to fav’ for a while now. The Seared Ahi Appetizer is devine. Melts in my mouth with a hint of spice.(going to have to steal this recipe) Chopped salad, w/o mush, tossed in blue cheese.(lick your lips good) And then the comes the steak. You cannot go wrong with the Ribeye. I end the night with crème brulee. Yes, I’m a piggy when the food is good. And this place is fan-f-tastic!

You got what you paid for. Nice ambiance, superb beef, excellent dessert and attentive service cost top dollars. We have the set dinner with soup/salad, entrée and dessert with a set price. Just watch out the dessert and side options cost extra! Great to take your first date, impress you future in laws and treat your parents’ birthday! Enjoy!

Ruth’s Chris is an upscale steakhouse that serves as a great venue for fine dining or for a less uptight happy hour. 1. What distinguishes Ruth’s Chris? The steak is served sizzling on a 500 degree plate. It is flavored with salt, pepper, and butter. 2. What should you get here? We haven’t been here for a sit-down dinner in awhile, but in the past, we have ordered the filet and ribeye which were both tasty options. We also enjoyed the shoestring fries! Ruth’s Chris occasionally offers a prix-fixe menu. Right now, the Ruth’s Chris is offering the Classics dinner. Ranging in price from $ 45 – 56, the Classics offers a 3-course set menu with starter, entrée+side, and dessert. 2. How does Ruth’s Chris stack up against other steakhouses? Considering only OC steakhouses, I would rank the restaurants as follows: — Mastro’s — The Ranch — Ruth’s Chris — Fleming’s 3. What are happy hour details? — 4:30 — 6:30 pm Sunday through Friday — $ 8 for food and drinks. Menu items include prime burger with fries, tenderloin skewer salad, crab BLT with zucchini fries, steak sandwich with fries, seared ahi, and spicy lobster. Drinks This is one of my favorite happy hour destinations in Orange County. The steak sandwich is absolutely scrumptious. The only drawback is that the limited seating and long wait times. The bar area gets extremely crowded during happy hour so arrive early if possible. Whether you are here for a nice steak during dinner or a classy cocktail after work, Ruth’s Chris is a phenomenal choice.

Don’t sleep on Irvine’s Ruth’s Chris Steak House. Let me preface this review with a tip: If you don’t find immediate parking, pony up $ 6.00 and valet. Your night will be much smoother… Just trust. Okay, on to the review… I feel strange giving a chain the size of Ruth’s Chris Steak House a 5 star review and I don’t exactly know why. I suppose it is almost a Unilocal principal to axe at least one star on any major corporate chain. But the fact is that the service is superb, the environs are a masculine classic steakhouse and their bar is stocked to the hilt with varieties of wine, craft beer and liquor that is heavily poured. Our waiter was nearly on the level of Robert at Capital Grille and that is best in class or A grade plus. I couldn’t possibly shave a star based on the experience I had… I really enjoyed my dinner. Oh — before I forget — Booth seating is an absolute must, otherwise you are basically sharing a table with strangers. This is as important as the parking situation. The menu is familiar and all of the options are great if not entirely fantastic. Obviously the red meat is the focal point and each cut is a solid choice, but what you really want is the Cowboy Ribeye(a large cut of USDA Prime bone in Ribeye) charred to a perfect medium rare and then served sizzling on a 500 degree plate with a coat of seasoned butter. The deep fragrance of butter a seared beef itself is worth the price of admission which is reasonable for the quality offered. They also offer notable Salads, Soups and Seafood but the Cowboy Ribeye is all that really matters. Damn, that was a great steak. Yes, there are caveats: The parking can be a living hell. The seating is way too tight on the floor. The crowd is on the Newport Beach level of douchedom. It was still a 5 star meal.

My first time coming here and it was for happy hour! HH is Sunday-Friday 4:30pm-6:30pm. I feel like the deal is pretty good compared to the regular menu. FOOD Spicy Lobster $ 20($ 8HH): Pretty good! I really liked the flavor of the sauce, spicy enough but not overwhelming. I would never order this full price though, since the portion is fairly small. The sauce gets a bit heavy after a couple of pieces so I suggest sharing this one. Crab BLT w/Zucchini Fries $ 13($ 8HH): The bun they use is garlic bread! So yummy. This dish is pretty filling by itself because of the bread, but also good to share. The zucchini fries are really delicious and crisp, and pairs perfectly with their red pepper ranch. This one is also the most worth the money since you get a fairly good amount. Seared Ahi Tuna $ 19($ 8HH): The meat is very soft and tender which is awesome. I wouldn’t get this again though, because the seasoning they use on the outside to sear is very peppery/salty and quite overwhelming. Good to try once, but also not worth full price. SERVICE Our server was attentive enough, but left us alone for the most part since we were seating in the bar area where everyone was socializing. The food came out SUPER quick; within 5 – 10 mins of us ordering. AMBIANCE I can only speak for the bar area, but it was nice and cozy and upscale. There were only 5 tables plus seating at the bar so pretty intimate. The décor was very classy with white tablecloths, obviously something you would expect from an expensive steak place. I heard that there are conference rooms in the back as well, for business gatherings. OVERALL I would come here again for Happy Hour or a special occasion. Normal food prices are very expensive so be prepared. I think the dishes we ordered were okay, nothing TOO special but we didn’t order steak so I can’t speak for that. I’ve also heard that seats fill up quick during Happy Hour so get there early!

Ruth’s Chris is an old school steak house. And say«old school» in the best possible way. Sure, the menu is a bit dated(then again, isn’t that the case with most steak houses?), and sure, the Crab Stack looks like something from early 1990s(mango and avocado anyone?), but it was still very good, and it contained huge chunks of sweet, delicious crab! On the other hand, the Tomato and Mozzarella Salad needed a better dressing than just balsamic vinegar(at least that’s what it tasted like). As for my steak, I ordered the Bone-in New York, and it came out sizzling and smelling wonderful. Perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned. Needless to say, I was very, very happy. The side dishes — Creamed Spinach and Fresh Asparagus — were pretty unexceptional though. Our server was very affable, and did not even hesitate when I inquired about corkage. He was happy to open our wine for us and even waived corkage, although I should say that when I browsed their list, I found the mark-ups to be quite reasonable.

Ruths Chris is definitely one of my favorite restaurants when craving a really good steak as well as a perfect place for celebrating special occasions. This visit however is for the happy hour and just like always, everything from the food to the over the top service was on par and outstanding. Happy hour is daily from 4:30p to 6:30p in the bar area only. Its first come first serve basis and this place gets packed real fast. We were waiting at 4:20p to make sure we get a booth/table since my kids were with us. They have a great happy hour menu with a good variety of cocktails and meals at a great happy hour price of $ 8. We ordered the skewer salad, burger, steak sandwich, seared tuna and several cocktails and wine. Definitely a new favorite place to enjoy happy hour with good quality food and cocktails!

Another great experience. Adam was once again our server and was very attentive. The tuna appetizer is great quality but it is bit spicy that is not relally obvisou from teh menu so I could not eat it but mom loved it. Steaks came out fantastic, swordfish was not grilled properly but the shrimp was good as well. Solid choice for your steakhouse dinner.

Came here unplanned but was hungry and craving something good. I found this place just driving by and decided to stop. We walked in with no reservation and we were seated within 5 minutes. Our server, Luke, was excellent — attentive, very professional and well mannered throughout our entire dinner. We ordered ribeye steaks with cream spinach, asparagus, and the gratin for our meal. The steaks came out perfectly cooked and sizzling on the plate. It was really good and definitely hit the spot. The three sides we ordered were the three most popular/favorite. They were pretty good but I was expecting a little more in terms of flavor. I can’t exactly say what was missing but it could have used a little something more. Overall, we were there at a steakhouse for steak. It was delicious and service was excellent. 4 stars.

It’s been awhile since I’ve been to a Ruth Chris restaurant, and after being here I’m thinking what took me so long to come back. After I stepped in the door I was pleasantly greeted and seated by the friendly hostess. I started with stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer. I also had several pieces of the delicious bread, and had to be careful not to overdo. Then came a crisp green salad that was perfectly dressed with balsamic vinaigrette. I ordered the Ribeye steak. It was cooked to perfection the way I like it, medium rare, and served on a hot sizzling platter. It was so tender and buttery, and I love that it stays hot! I also had the garlic mashed potatoes that comes in a separate dish and big enough to share. For dessert I had the chocolate sin cake which is drizzled with a raspberry sauce. It is so decadent and delicious and melts in your mouth. I highly recommend you try this dessert if you like chocolate! I came at a time before it got too busy, so there was plenty of self parking, however, there is also valet if you choose. The restaurant is clean and the service was outstanding. I will be back!

Food: They have good decent steaks for a chain restaurant. It is a good entry steakhouse into finer dining. On my most recent visit, I loved their Cowboy Bone-in Rib Eye and baby spinach. I also started with a lobster bisque and added a lobster tail to my meal. Their steaks are simple, cook it super hot in butter. They have a decent wine list. You don’t have to break the bank in finding a good Cabernet Sauvignon to go with your steak! The lobster bisque was not that great, but not the worst I’ve had. Service: Service is usually fantastic. I’ve never had bad service while dining at this restaurant. Location: The restaurant is located at the Northeast corner of Michelson Dr and Jamboree Rd. You’ll have to enter the parking lot off of Michelson Dr by turning in on Carlson Ave. The parking lot is shared with a lot of popular shops and restaurants so this place can get a little hairy. You can also pay for valet parking if it’s too much of a headache to find a parking spot. There’s a small bar near the entrance. The dining area isn’t all that spacious. It feels a bit crammed.
