Exhibit A of why food trucks are for the most part overhyped and overpriced. I paid a whooping $ 5 for some basic French fries with a dipping sauce. Not to mention the elementary school sized grill cheese I got which was soggy. Overall probably the worst $ 12.50 I’ve ever spent on a lunch! Edited: I tasted the pulled pork sandwhich and it was actually decent. But I still can’t get over a $ 5 price point for some super basic fries!

Saw this truck at the Anaheim Convention Center and was excited to give them a try. The line wasn’t as long as any of the other trucks, so that was a bonus. Ordered a pulled pork grilled cheese sandwich and irish fries. The grilled cheese was pretty good and there was a good amount of pulled pork in it. Unfortunately, the irish fries weren’t cooked. Not just cold, the fries were still raw on the inside. I ended up throwing the fries away. It does seem like they have problems with their fries based on other reviews I’ve seen on here. Not much else to say. I probably won’t be back.

Tried this food truck while attending a conference at Anaheim Convention Center. Was extremely busy but they managed their time very well and we waited an appropriate amount of time. I had the tuna melt, garlic and Parmesan fries shared with my boyfriend, and he had the BBQ melt. Food was perfect amount just wished the fries would have been a little warmer! Good job to this truck, though.

I’ve been tracking down food trucks in my area for awhile now. There are few good brick and mortar options for lunch in my area. This was the 50th food truck I’ve tried. I tried their pesto chicken sandwich with fries. The pesto chicken sandwich was normal except for brie cheese on top. The fries were pretty boring. They have a wide variety of potato themed menu items, I should have tried those. Both items I tried were average, with the brie adding a nice kick.

We chose to eat there wile attending the D23 Expo at the Anaheim Convention Center. First off the fries were under cooked and mushy, though I ate them anyway because they were covered in cheese and bacon. The reason I give them one star is because of their service or should I say lack there of. There were three of us ordering and one of us still deciding what we wanted to eat when it was our turn at the window. The woman taking order was extremely impatient and rude. She made it a point to yell out to the rest of the line«I’m sorry for the weight guys will be with you in just a minute.» Which in its self is not a terrible thing to say but it was how she said it, very condescending. I’m no stranger to food trucks, we hit the jamborees other and love Dogzilla and the Burnt Truck Oh but it’s not over yet, she then over charged us, gave a receipt for $ 50 when we only ordered $ 32 dollars worth of food. When we asked about it she at first said it was correct but then when we did the math proved it was wrong. She brought the truck manager over to do the refund and the manager recharged us for the correct price but didn’t do the refund, claimed they never charged the card. We told her that was incorrect because we were holding a receipt, proving that it was charged. She then started to argue with us over it(one of us being a retail manager) tried to explain that if the receipt prints the card has been charged. It was a big ordeal and argument that showed a total lack of professionalism on their part. We left after they«claimed» it was refunded but we will be disputing the charge if it shows up. All in all, very bad experience. Won’t go there ever again.

I got the Tomato Basil Grilled Cheese, it would have been 8.10 $ but got the 1 $ off from Unilocal. It was tasty, but not worth the money. Not full, still hungry and if I spend that much on food I need to at least feel like I ate something. Nice, if you want to eat light. Didn’t come with fries would have been extra. Not thrilled and wouldn’t go back again…

Pulled Pork Grilled Cheese?! YES! Durning the Star Wars celebration in Anaheim, boyfriend and I decided to eat at this Truck and wow! It was so good! Bread was very well grilled and cheese melty and cheesy enough I think those are words ha! I really should have ordered a second sandwich just to try something else I’m sure they’re just as yummy! Even though the lady Before us ordered like 12 things(for her booth) we still got our order in a timely manner. I was very impressed that they didn’t focus on her order before everyone else. Good job on the service as well as quality of food! I would definitely eat there again if I ever run into this truck!(Crossing fingers that we do!)

I had some time before class so I figured I’d give it a try… won’t be returning. I ordered the pesto grilled chicken sandwich and instead I received a gooey mess of cheese, steamed chicken and spinach. There was no trace of pesto anywhere on the sandwich and it was impossible to keep it from falling apart. The fries were ok but definitely not worth the $ 9 I spent on «food».

They were at Blizzcon. Food sucked and was waaay overprice for the cruddy white bread sandwich that it was. Only bought because the line was short… but I realized thats never a good thing with food trucks. I wouldn’t buy again. Ever.

Failed my test of «loaded fries»…where you should have at least enough toppings to get you through 75% of your fries. So It maaay possibly be your best choice at say oddball feast, where your other choice is pizza, nachos and burgers(man, I wish I would have had the nachos) BUT it is absolutely not worth any kind of anticipation or excitement. Soo sorry

Yum! You get so much food for very little $$$. I ordered just the regular fries and a soda and it was $ 5! And on Calstate campus makes it so convenient!

3.5 stars. I had their santa fe fries, which has caramelaized onions, cilantro, tomatoes, and chicken. It was a good snack, but I wasn’t blown away. Although, I was impressed that the fries didn’t get really soggy in a matter of minutes. I finished it all, but my friends didn’t care for their food. It took quite a while for us to get our food too and there wasn’t very much of a line, it was understandable though since it’s made to order. Nice guys, decent food. Probably not worth $ 8 for the fries though.

Warning: my coworker ordered the«tri-tip» chili fries($ 8.25) and then witnessed one of the cooks open up a can of Ortega™ chili. Draw your own conclusions.

I am loving this food truck round up every Wednesday at Michelson and Teller. They have a great variety of food trucks, including the popular ones like Lime Truck and Seabirds. I was going to go to the Viking Truck and then I stopped immediately when I saw chili fries. I love chili fries more than the average person and they are my absolute weakness. Their regular chili fries are amazing. They are loaded with chili(tri tip — heck yeah!), sour cream, green onions and just the right amount of cheese. The service is very quick and friendly, which is always a plus. Luckily, their line wasn’t long so I was in and out of there fairly quickly. Another bonus is their first timers Unilocal checkin. I received a dollar off my order when I checked in. Every dollar counts, right?

I tried Spudrunners for the first time last Sunday at the Great Park Farmer’s Market, I think this truck only shows up for the Antique event on the first Sunday of every month. Since I was going to the movies later in the day and was planning on eating there, I allowed Laina and Jess select the food. Jess came back with the Irish Fries from Spudrunners with the Baconaise Sauce. The fries were really good, the sauce was great and there was a good amount of cheese on the fries. I could have used more bacon on the fries, but otherwise they were really good. I would definitely grab food here again, maybe a potato next time.

Shared their Pesto Chicken Grilled Cheese sandwich with my niece. It was very good! All of the flavors melded well together. Tasty grilled cheese, would definitely eat here again.

You carboliscious truck, I present to you my 4−½ stars. Hubby, 8yo, and I headed to the Flavorful Fridays Meetup this fine 111111 day, and being a holiday(for most people), there were only 5 food trucks — Spudrunners, Dos Chinos, Bacon Mania, Lime Truck, and Shortstop BBQ. Shortstop BBQ was already closed up by the time we got there around 1:30. It must have been a slow day. Spudrunners’ special was the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich or fries for $ 9, which was tempting, but my cheapiness kicked in and I opted for the Pesto Chicken sandwich for $ 7. The nice gentleman who took my order suggested making it into a combo that included fries and lemonade for $ 10 all together. Shoot, for more food, I happily paid that extra $ 3! I got the blackberry lemonade and the sun-dried tomato basil dipping sauce for my fries. Woot. Hubby ended up getting the Philly Cheese Steak fries with the garlic roasted onion dipping sauce. Woot woot. My 8yo got bacon balls from Bacon Mania. No woot(she didn’t give me any). The Pesto Chicken was oh-so-toasty-crunchy-good. The grilled sourdough bread already scored points from the get-go(it’s sourdough, aiight?), and the fresh tomatoes and spinach balanced out the richness of the cheese and aioli. The chicken wasn’t overly seasoned too. Yum. Yum. The sun-dried tomato basil dip was good, but the garlic roasted onion dip was more flavorful(if you have to go back to work, you’d probably want to think twice about getting that one though… garlic + onion). The Philly Cheese Steak fries were good too, but I probably would’ve liked the sandwich version(oh well, hubby paid). The combo itself was a lot of food, so it can easily be shared between 2 girls. Not enough for 2 dudes though. I knocked off a ½ star because the fries were a bit salty for me, but that’s just me since I’m sensitive to salt, and I will happily bring my BP monitor along for another round of Spudrunners.

What is it about french fries that makes them so absolutely irresistible? After all, they are – at their most basic – oil, salt, and potatoes. Yet, the sum is far greater than its parts. At Spudrunners, basic doesn’t cut it. They load it up here! For around $ 6, you can get yourself a black plastic container full of piping hot, freshly cut pertaters topped with bacon, cheese, chili, green onions, etc. And if you would like le dip with your le french fry, they’ve got an entire list from pesto aioli to baconnaise! We personally went for a box of the Irish Spuds, which came with bacon, green onions, cheese, and a dipping sauce of our choice(chipotle ranch). Holy hell these are good! It’s such a shame that I was full by the time we hit this truck because these are some tasty fries! No, they’re not my ideal skinny fries, but they are still pretty damn yummy. It was like biting into a gourmet, more substantial version of sour cream and onion Lay’s chips. The chipotle ranch went really well with these particular fries, too. Word of advice: save some cash for this place and use your card elsewhere, because they charge $ 0.25 per credit/debit transaction for anything under $ 15. No, a quarter isn’t that much, but still… I just don’t believe in being charged extra for using my plastic.
