Taut Canvas

I wish Taut Canvas had been around back when my son was born. The prints from the Core Value Series are beautiful and meaningful. The web site is super user friendly and has lots of lovely details. I ordered a set (Honesty, Compassion, Sharing) for my friend’s daughter. The set shipped out quickly and arrived expertly packaged. My friend loved them was was so excited to have something special for her daughter’s room. The company was started by two parents and a graphic designer so you know that care and attention to detail went into it. Love Taut Canvas and will probably get a gift certificate for another friend whos little boy is due in January.

Rodney and Crystal Jerabek started with the goal of decorating a room for the new addition to their family in 2007. Having renovated their new home in Southern California, they were looking for their daughter Charley’s room to be an extension of the efforts they had made in the rest of their home. Modern, yet classic, lines, textures, lighting and furniture make up their living spaces. Consumed with fashion, design, and style… they simply couldn’t bring themselves to hang the typical artwork offered for today’s kids.
You could see directly into her room from the rest of our open concept home. We simply weren’t going to hang purple dinosaurs, little red monsters, or princesses on her walls. That’s what was out there and it just wasn’t us”, says Rodney.
So they decided to create, print, and stretch their own artwork. Taut was born. Rodney and Crystal felt it was important to combine modern design with words or values they wanted to teach their daughter Charley.
Long time friend and talented designer, Matt Davidson (Uncle Matty), partnered with Rodney in 2009. Together Matt and Rodney refined the direction of Taut Canvas and started with the first of many series to come. The Core Value Series.
