The UPS Store

Came by to get a quote for shipping a package internationally. The female working there didn’t even greet me but blankly stared at me. Ok. Way to start off the awkward interaction.
She ended up saying that my package (~18lbs 30×18×18) would cost over $ 400 to ship to Canada. Are you kidding me? That’s the cheapest? She then said it would cost more cause she didn’t calculate the declared value in yet, but only calculated the shipping and package fee. I asked why it was only $ 100 on
when I did a dummy test. She stated that the website doesn’t calculate package fee. WHAT?! so package fee is $ 300?
I told her to just print me a quote with all the options and I went on my way to FedEx to get a quote. I noticed later on the UPS quote, the last option was $ 105 so I called and asked why that wasn’t an option in the store. The same lady I dealt with picked up and was extremely rude, snarky, and had attitude over the phone.
Phone convo:
Me: Hi, I was just there and wanted to ask if the $ 105 option was applicable to my shipment as it shows it on the quote?
Employee: Well, I don’t know now. I need to see what you’re looking at. What carrier is it?
Me: What? It says UPS Standard?
Employee: No, I don’t know what you’re looking at. You should of asked when you were in the store.
Me: Excuse me? Wow, I’m sorry I’m making your job so difficult.
Employee: We don’t provide that last option with us. Go to USPS for that.
How is this store still even surviving when they’re telling people to go to USPS. What rude employee. By the way, FedEx and USPS offer better rates for international and better service — hands down.

The service was terrible. The lady works in there was so rude and dont know what she was doing. I was sending my iPhone to Apple for a repair that suppose under a corporation account and all fees will be covered by Apple, all I need to do is drop off my iPhone with a repair ID which was generated by
to any UPS store. But she refused to take it and want to charge me for packaging. I told her this is not right and how this should process, she threw me an UPS service number and tell me find other UPS to help. W. F!

I’ve been to many UPS stores to send packages, return items to Amazon, etc. Never l, not once, have I been charged two dollars to tape up the box. Now, you might say they have business expenses and need to recoup the costs. But for fifty cents worth of tape? I’m not asking much. Needless to say, I’m not surprised that this franchise is rated poorly by others. AVOID and drive an extra five minutes for literally ANY other location.

Never thought I would get pissed off by an UPS store. I have a small business and shipped out over 1000 orders at over 20 UPS locations. This place charges you $ 2 for taping PER box. Don’t even get me started with their service… DON’T COME HERE.

Not thrilled with the service I received here. I brought my product in before I actually shipped it, to first find the right box, then to get the shipping cost, so I knew how much to bill my customer. The customer service rep that day was really kind and provided me with the right box size, then he taped up one side of the box for me.
When I returned to the store, 3 days later ready to finally ship the box, I was greeted by two ladies, who were not very friendly or pleasant. In fact, when I told them what I was quoted on Saturday, she said she measured it and I couldn’t be right. So not only was I misquoted for the cost of shipping, but I was also never told about the insurance fees. and how much UPS actually covers. Will I be back? Probably not, unless it’s for shipping boxes.

AVOID. AVOID. AVOID. Really, just go the extra mile to the Fed Ex.
The «Printing Setup Fee» is $ 2.50 plus $ 0.18 cents per copy. For a mere b&w photocopy or printout of a PDF. You’re better off walking around your neighborhood asking strangers help.

Their sign said opens on Sat at 9:00, I came at 9:20, still not open. What a waste of my time!

I was so disappointed to enter the parking lot today with my disabled husband in the car only to find a UPS truck illegally parked adjacent to the handicapped space on the blue lines that say «no parking», blocking the dip in the sidewalk that my husband needs for use with his wheelchair. To make matters worse, this was in front of your store and the driver was loading the truck. He never acknowledged that we pulled into the handicapped parking space, nor did he apologize or move his truck. Just because you have a store there, doesn’t give you the right to use the handicapped parking space as a loading zone. UPS should be have policies against this illegal behavior and drivers should be cited for these infractions. Shame on you!

Wow what a complete and utter ripoff. They charge for EVERYTHING and it’s about 3x-​5x the price you would expect. 9 dollars for just a box!!! Stay away unless you want to throw money away!

No warning, no notice that there would be a fee.
$ 3.23 to print a shipping label. UPS franchisees are, on average, worse than loan sharks in their attempt to wrest every possible cent out of their unwitting victims. I didn’t think it was possible, but the new franchisee at this location is actually worse than the last.
Apparently there’s a $ 2.50 charge for «setup,» which when pressed, the franchisee claimed was for logging into the store’s email.
Another $.0.49 to actually print the page, which might be understandable on its own, but in combination with the setup fee, the whole thing turns into a giant joke.
Don’t forget there’s an $ 8.00 charge for every 6 inches of packing tape they use to tape up a box for you, while 40 foot rolls of it sit on the wall behind you for $ 5.00
UPS, please get your act together and put together some rules for your franchisees to prevent abuse of their regional exclusivity. These people make it torture to ship with UPS.

Went to drop off a prepaid package at this location, ended up walking out of the store thoroughly offended still with package in hand. I should have walked out the moment I went in and saw the girl in there on the phone bickering to someone while scowling at me. After 10min she tried to help me while still on the phone, but that only upset her and led her to start getting aggressive with me because it must have made her chit chatting a bit difficult?. She eventually finally got off the phone, and let me know there was a part of the process that was incomplete, which was fine until I tried to ask a few questions to clarify some confusion I had. She proceeded to get really upset while trying to answer anything, eventually she got really upset, frustrated and offensive and told me she didnt know how UPS and its procedures worked, and turned around and walked away as she huffed and puffed. Im not sure what her problem is, but her behavior was hostile, rude, arrogant, uninformed/​unqualified, needless to say highly offensive, she managed to take someone having a pleasant day to walk out feeling pretty agitated all without me having to do anything almost, it was like a circus freak show. The people at FedEx are pretty nice and helpful, if nothing else they wont go out of their way to upset anyone and its just across the way from here.

0 stars. I came in today with 2 packages, both with prepaid labels. One was already in the box and ready to go. I wanted to buy a small box (3×5) for the other one. The woman at the counter put both boxes on the scale and told me it was going to be $ 11.80 to BUY A SMALL BOX for my package. Are you effing kidding me? I went to Target, bought a box for $ 1.75 and came back with the package. It insults me that this kind of service exists. Do they really think I’m idiotic enough to pay $ 11.80 for a 3×5 BOX? This establishment should be shut down and I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on.

This place is bad, it almost feels like I’m in a Disneyland gift shop but where anything worth buying was boycotted. I had a bad experience shipping out my Xbox after it got the red ring, it was under warranty so I sent it. Right when I got there the worker almost seemed like I ruined her day for deciding to be a customer.
I actually went here to ask how much it would cost, but she took the address I had written down and started to package everything up. I couldn’t even say anything, by the time I was going to ask how much it would cost it was already wrapped up and ready to be shipped. Normally that would be a cool thing, but holy hell it cost me like $ 40 for the bubble stuff, box and shipping.
Had I known it would cost that much I would have got a box and bubble wrap from the shipping and receiving department near me and went to FedEx instead. The lady already had everything charged in the cash register before asking for my return address, I think it’s a tactic used to force you to pay after they did the work.
The price isn’t worth it, but I’m giving this place 2 stars based on how fast the bitch did the work.

This location claims to close at 6:30pm on the weekdays, however, an employee was locking up at 6:20pm. When informing her that there was still time, she said it was already 6:30 and walked away.
I will not be returning to this location and am willing to drive a little farther to receive better service.

Easy in and out to drop off a package. Would have been nice if someone could have gotten the door for me instead of watching me struggle to bring in two awkwardly shaped/​heavy items.

Service varies drastically between UPS Stores as they’re all individually owned. I’ve been to many and this particular store isn’t one that I’ll return to.
I walked in to use their (one and only) computer to print out a prepaid UPS shipping label but it was down — when I questioned the clerk about it, he nonchalantly said he didn’t know what the status was, that it had been down for a few days and blamed the store owner. He suggested I hike to the FedEx store across the lot to print out my label and then come back, which I reluctantly did.
When I returned with the prepaid UPS shipping label, the same clerk assisted me in packaging my shipment. But he did a poor job packing the box — I had to instruct him on doing it properly. He also didn’t think it was necessary for him to close and seal the box while I was still there (even though I had paid) — he kept insisting on doing it later which I thought was very strange.

The owner is rude, and never helps. I ask her to help with scanning she just points her finger. I am all for foreigners opening business, but they have to learn «american customer service».

This is a truly awful little UPS location and I’m glad I’m not the only one who noticed. For one thing they shouldn’t call themselves a «UPS Store» because they’re primarily interested in selling you boxes. The first time I came in here I already had a box, and the woman behind the counter told me that I should use a different box because the one I had was too big and would cost more to ship. So I let her convince me into buying a new box which I didn’t find out until the end cost $ 15.00. Would it have really cost me $ 15 more to just ship it in the original box that I brought with me (for free)? Of course not. With the added shipping (I obviously regret not going to USPS at this point) my total bill was over $ 30 — to ship something that I sold for $ 75 on ebay.
The second (and last) time I came here, I had a pre-​printed label for next-​day express UPS shipping. As in, the label was already paid for. I came in just to get a next-​day mailer and to drop my package off for shipping. The same annoying lady was behind the counter, and immediately told me I needed to buy a box. I’m serious, she was already folding the box together before I even said whether or not I needed one. I asked her much it was and she says it’s eight dollars — for a little cardbox box, to mail something that I already have a UPS pre-​printed label for. I ask her why I can’t just use a standard UPS next-​day mailer, the way next-​day UPS shipments are *always* packaged and shipped. She says they don’t have any UPS shipping materials there; they only sell boxes. As soon as I told her that I didn’t want to buy her cardboard box, this woman goes back to her stool several feet behind the counter and completely ignores me. I asked her if she knew of another *UPS* location that provided next-​day services, and she completely ignored me and went about sipping her coffee (or whatever) looking off into space. It was like the words never came out of my mouth.
In summary, unless you have some weird interest in being price-​gouged over cardboard boxes, avoid this place unless it’s your absolute last resort.

Came here today to drop off a package with a prepaid label.
Once it came to be our turn, the guy promptly taped the box shut, stuck the label on, and we were out the door, no fuss.
Some stars dinged for the dingy look of the place, as well as the really slow service. The products that they sell here aren’t…sold, I don’t think, as everything either looks dusty or old. Maybe the dust makes the stuff look old, I don’t know.
There was only one person ahead of us, but we had to wait a good 10 – 15 minutes for them to finish up. The guy working behind the counter didn’t seem to be too concerned with moving things along. Meh.

I will never set foot at this location ever again.
I used to like this location, it was close to home, friendly and convenient. until the change of ownership!!!
They charge for services that are supposed to be free. $ 3.00 just to drop off my prepaid UPS? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
Just because you post a sign that you charge $ 3 for drop off makes it acceptable.
and it doesn’t help that the people behind the counter are rude even when they take you for your money.
For anyone who needs to mail out anything through UPS please use the location at the District or any other location and boycott this one.
